  • pure class,end of.........dmt

  • Love it love it - the reason I find ...........

  • @claire30061 May I beg an innocent question?

  • i love the intro to this song

  • TELEKONNNN!XD

  • I saw him live early '90s when his career was in a nosedive. It was in a sports hall at Milton Keynes college, just a couple of hundred people. Tiny venue, cheap tickets. Having been a huge fan in early '80s i was dreading a poor performance from a burned out former star in decline. Guess what? He was fantastic. Slick, professional, engaging and giving his all. A brilliant performance. I was stunned and very, very impressed.

  • @1RadNomad You've no idea what I would have given to see the man. To my knowledge he never played the US, not surprising to me, actually. 2011, offer serious money I would.

  • @superunt43 Actually he had a Pleasure Principal tour last year here in the US and he has also had numerous tours among the decades in the US.

  • @platypusnuggets Oh my. I know of this not? You speak of 2011?

  • This song is fucking amazing. I've now listened to it 6 times in 3 hours.

  • @stbaptiste78 greetings from Malaysia....i hv been listening to it since its release in 1980 #1 in UK....32 years and still going stronger by the day......

  • I think this is his best album, and indeed the best song from it.

  • @29thsoundwarrior Yah think?

  • bin a " numanoid" since " are friends" used too get chased all over leeds/bradford for looking weird but we felt proud and still do today... so all you stiffs, squares, dressers, gay bashers out there FUCK YOU

  • @macturbo789 I am confused now?

  • @superunt43 Well its not my fault you can't understand English.

  • @macturbo789 English? You mean the King's version?

  • @macturbo789 1980 I bash no-0ne OK? My apologies.

  • wow!! as ever!!even 20 yrs after I saw it all live and raw! gn is so talented! and speaks for my generation x

  • saw lots of GARY NUMAN shows in the eighties..Wembley, Tottenham Ct Rd, Hammersmith and I remember him GYRATING in a glass cage, can you imagine! PURE MAGIC NOTHING LIKE IT!

  • THIS SHIT IS FUCKING FANTASTIC! WOW! I just discovered this, but not too late. What a fantastic musical journey.

  • This seems different than the version on my album. The notes seem slightly lower in part and other sounds seem more distinct. Is this from a remastered cd or something ?

  • awesome new wave synthpop 80s i love new wave i am total new wave fan

  • just love this one sooooooooooooo much

  • Best song on cd!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Mathew and son....

  • The best track on this vynil!

  • What has always bothered me about this song is that it fades out just as it starts getting going. I would really like to hear it all the way to the end of the recording. I wonder if the tapes exist.

  • So underated...to bad people only know Caes...i feel like going door to door

  • Im 42 and i LOVE this!!!!!!!!New kids are fucked,,,they'll never know good music!! God i'd kill for a joint right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @littleboeep hahahaha you are funny, i have always loved Gary Numan ever since he came out, all his fans plus him are on my facebook !!

  • This song catches Gary at his very best...it's all there, moody piano, violin & viola plus superb bass from the late, great Paul Gardiner

  • This song is great to listen to while organizing my cassette collection. Sadly I don't own any Numan on cassette

  • Can't wait Gary is playing in T.O. in 2 weeks with Nash as special guest dill be F'N brilliant

  • Guys a lot of the work was done by Chris Payne and Dennis haynes both are classically trained. Both Played on this album and helped with arrangement.

Gary had the rough idea, but the boys put it all together.

The original band was one of the most versatile and gifted he ever had.

now he relies mostly Ade Orange and that idiot Ade Fenton(he cant play a note)

and one session player after another.which means crap input!

  • Me. La holly woowod @ 17 . 1979

  • genius...in motion. class. 21 years old and writing in them within in 12 months 3 hit albums in a row.this is like heaven.the joy circiut ..

  • my fav...

  • Love the tone of that sawing violin-- very pure. Great mix of acoustic piano and synths too. It was a great song to end the album, bittersweet emptiness.

  • Love it !

  • I agree with the comments, they were such big, bold songs well thought out, executed and arranged, from melancholy to mischevious and the outro to this always sounds like the end of a film,an era, or a life with flashbacks, bittersweet stuff.

  • After listening to Telekon, you realize that Gary Numan was really a "classical" composer using modern-day instruments (synthesizers).

  • @arrowz12 dude ive screamed it for years..... like motzart he was not afraid to use and play with sound regardness of what others thought... the comp of his work is absolutely like the masters of old

  • Done really well live w/Nash the Slash.

Agreed my fave on this release.

  • favriote song on Telekon.

  • Lyrically, a good concept, musiccialy this is a peice of art.

  • Send in the guards

    We are all new faces

    I'm so sorry

    But my reasons are wrong

    My reasons are wrong

    We are on joy circuit

    The image fix

    Rewind, cry

    Well it's somewhere to go

    Well it's somewhere to go

  • How many sales has Telekon sold up to now?

  • I have no clue how many, but it is one of his top selling albums, still to this day.

Pleasure Principle, Telekon, Replicas, and Dance. Those are the top 4 selling Numan albums.

  • OK cheers

This album was an enormous impact at the time with me

  • Well, if I was an internet meme freak, I'd say... "IT'S OVER 9000!!!". But I'm not an internet meme freak. So I'll say what says on Wikipedia: more than 100 000 copies.

  • @lizs004

Ahh but how much more than 100 000 copies?

As that number is not much at all really is it for the time passed.

  • @hyperdriveguitar ITS OVER NINE THOUSSAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNDD!

  • @hyperdriveguitar Oh... I don't know...

  • For an album that begins with the lyrics "And what if God's dead..." and concludes with the confession "...all I find is a reason to die", Telekon is the utmost soul stirring, mind-bending, emotion-laden musical experience that a person could ever encounter.

Such an amazing song to cap off one of the best albums of all time.

  • I couldn't have said it any better!

Gary Numan sings with profound imagery and soul! I love how a new generation are discovering his music. My kids are discovering his music today and also agree That Gary Numan's music is brilliant!

  • All time best numan song, sounded even better on Living Ornaments 80 and 81.

  • Best song he ever plays live on Living Ornaments. Espically 81, it's off the hook, go check it out, you won't regret it

  • This song is a trip Gary Numan takes the listener on. I'm also glad the studio version is here. I have a high-quality MP3 and it's COMPLETELY t*tts!

  • This was the best song on Telekon and yes this is the best song to ever hear him play live, go find the Living Ornaments 81 version and you'll see why.

  • I lvoe seeing him play this song live, it's one of the best songs he ever has performed. I think on Living Ornaments 81 it had Nash the Slash with him on this track.

  • all this time and i thought it was, We are on dry circuit

    The suspension flex

    Reword, cry

    Well it's somewhere to go

    Well it's somewhere to go

  • Love this track too, you guys are not alone.

  • can't hate this song at all hahaha and live is even better

  • yeah it sounds alot better live, glad we finally have it up on here.
