John Edwards is the Robert F.Kennedy of 2008, he is the Dems only chance to win next year. I am a Dem, and I will not vote for Hill, or Obama, if Edwards does not win, I will vote for the GOP:(
As for the film in think it is probably just an effort to revive some racial tension like the jena 6 thing. Try to make racial tension a grass roots thing or some nonsense. The first picture was Nixon so the discussion bent off on a tangent.
What amazes me is even running for President makes one a rich person. The candidate gets to keep all of the monies raised during campaign no strings attached, usually that is a million or so. The point is don't be hypnotized into thinking that the Presidents are left or right and that they set the rules and wield the almighty Scepter of Power of the United States of America. That Power is being wielded by Corporate United States of America.
The Viet Nam war was a war cooked up in the 50's he said no and signed the bill to withdraw. The minting of our money in the hands of private business is a God awe full thing and he said no he signed a bill for America to mint it's own money. Kennedy was trying to wrestle the power and put it back into the peoples hands. The presidents since him have all been signed onto plans that have already been lain.
Our wars we fight are the product of those plans and laid out years before they come to fruition. The only President that bucked the system in over 100 years was Kennedy. Just a few items he bucked are as follows. Our rich had set up big casinos in Cuba and thought they owned the country when Castro kicked them out in the 50's. Revenge was being laid out with the Bay of Pigs and Kennedy inherited those plans. He denied their plans and said no to the Bay of Pigs.
The point is this. Right now as we breath deals are going down. Lines are being lain. Minds are being set. Thoughts are being prepared for the next 4, 8, 12, 16, 20 years. This shaping is being made by BIG BUSINESS, BIG CORPORATIONS, BIG CEO'S, PARTIES OF PEOPLES with profit in mind. These plans being laid are not always the plans of future Presidents. So those Presidents become YES men and they push the plans through.
You're right. These corporations and entities have spent too much money to not have their plans fullfilled . They have existed for hundreds of years, and this so called history has already been written for at least that long. Unfortunately, people (citizens) won't believe this, it's too scary. And the day it is fully realized, I'd hate to think of the terrible anarchy it would ensue.

I won't dignify your hate anymore. I am a true American who made the mistake of re-electing Bush, and who is proud to have a daughter in the armed forces who's been there, who pays my taxes so I have the right to question.
I have a right to feel, and you will not change that. And you have the right to tell me to go to hell. But don't hit me with this cold war commie pinko liberal crap. Gimmie a break. How 20 years ago can you be?
Hey moron, why don't you read into your history a little. JFK had 1600 advisers in Vietnam that he wanted out by 1965. He said that it was their war, and they have to win or lose it, not have somebody else win it for them. 4 days after he was killed, LBJ passed a National Security Actions Memorandum that helped escalate the war...and so on.
Right. LBJ was an idiot who fell into the "Asian ground war" trap that JFK would have rejected.
That LBJ sonovabitch was not only gung ho to help the American blacks here but to get THEM and whites killed in Asia. It took Nixon's bombing surge to bring the Gooks to the table in Paris and we repaid his leadership by an almost impeachment. Only in America!
violence comes from violence, it spreads from one country-region to the next without end without cause, the only thing you can do is to maxe sure that you prevent it from spreading uncessarily
but yeah, its disgraceful how Vietnam was treated and nowadays they are a great trading partner, much to the bs logic at the time
You people who glorify Presidents like Bush and Nixon are brainwashed zombies who can't see the truth right in front of you and believe anything your goverment tells you. You war mongerers won't be happy until everybody who disagrees with you is dead, probably from your own shiny new machine gun. And anybody who calls me a burned out wuss beter be prepared to meet me at a time and place of my choosing, or an intensive care facillity of their choosing. Idiots!
i'm about to turn 21 pretty soon.i was born in 1987,and watching videos like this,it makes me thank god that i was not around in 1968.imagine if i were 20 back then,i'd already be almost 60 in 2008.but instead i'll be 21,its good to be young.i don't care how "interesting" times were back then,i am glad i'm young and born in the late 1980's.
Thank God the radical wackos of that era are dying off. From the Greatest Generation of WW2....to the doped out, Anti American generation of the Burnout. That 20 year Old Wuss Burnout in 1968, is now your 60 year old Burnout Senator, Congressman,School Principal or College Prof. No wonder today's kids are tards & the country is sissified.
I totally agree with that comment. I'm a college student right now and I've had several professors who tell storied about protesting the Vietnam War. They were the rich kids who's daddy bought them a draft deferment so they could run down to the docks of San Francisco and spit on the poor blue collar kids as they left for Vietnam, and even 40 years later they still aren't ashamed of it.
Kinda like W's daddy getting him in to the Air National Guard. No one goes to flight school with a C- average. The neo-con hero, W , was just a rich little boy that had daddy and grand daddy's hands opening all the doors for him.
BTW: The deferment was for college students. So, you would have had a deferment too.
You are absolutely correct some protesters did behave poorly. The majority did not. As always the most radical makes the news. I saw a lot of protesters when I came home, then I joined them. Most protested as Dr. King suggested, peacefully.
Are you telling me that SDS protested peacefully when they took over buildings? Did the protestors at the 1968 DNC protest peacefully? Did the protestors in San Francisco protest peacefully when they spit on our troops and threw balloons filled with Urine on them? Was Jane Fonda looking out for us when she went to Vietnam and denounced our country? Sell that John Kerry, who is also pictured with Fonda in today's Communist Vietnam as "hero's who helped win the war against the United States."
Furthermore I am not going to defend our government's actions in Vietnam. LBJ lost the war by micromanaging every aspect of it even though he had zero military background. However that doesn't warrant burning American flags and spitting on those who can't buy a draft deferment. Claiming that was only a small portion of the hippy movement is rewriting history.
Actually, assuming that it was only the hippy movement that was protesting is "rewriting history". However, who got the press? The hippies. BTW: The neo-con movement is what got us into Vietnam.
The Neo-Con movement is what got us into Vietnam? You mean to tell me that Lyndon Johnson the ultra Liberal big government spender was a Neo-Conservative? I don't think so.
BTW you said earlier, "I saw a lot of protesters when I came home, then I joined 4 years old in 1968. You must have been one hell of a protestor. them." I just checked your profile and you say you are 43. That would make you 4 years old in 1968. You must have been one heck of a soldier turn protestor.
******BTW you said earlier, " I saw a lot of protesters when I came home, then I joined them." I just checked your profile and you say you are 43. That would make you 4 years old in 1968. You must have been one heck of a soldier turn protestor.
And assuming that you are a Vietnam vet I thank you for your service, but I highly disagree that you are helping anything by joining with the same group of people who were waving North Vietnamese flags while we still have people fighting in South East Asia. Lets not forget that since the fall of the Soviet Union it has come out that the KGB helped organize some of those protests including the anti-defense protests of the 1980's.

Of course you would choose right now, you are going to be president. What a fuck up. They shot Kennedy, Johnson's heart was about to throw in the towel, and the democrats didn't have shit left on deck. I would wanna live then, too! Except for the LSD and AIDS, I like those now.
we need another nixon? are you suggesting that we have another president that will defraud the country? wow, nice idea, i can't wait to give up my constitutional rights, NOT. if u think that nixon was a strong leader, then u need a strong doctor
Yeah and LBJ didn't defraud this country when he stuffed the ballot boxes in Texas to be elected to the U.S. Senate? Nixon didn't do anything his predecessors hadn't done; the only difference between Nixon and past and current presidents is that Nixon got caught.
I lived through those Nixon years from 1968 until our government sabotaged him regarding Watergate thereby allowing shithead Ford to take over and then to lose South Viet Nam. I saw Nixon in action and he was a forceful sonovagun-one tough bastard given a raw deal by his own nation. As I said, WE COULD USE HIM NOW.
Thanks. WE NEED A TOUGH BASTARD in the White House and the only person I see who's qualified is Rudy. We are at war and if we need to waterboard those bastards, then turn the nozzle. I give a shit about libs screaming torture? Fuck 'em.They's be the first to scream when Islamists hang their children. Blow those goddamned Arab heads off and NIXON WOULD DO IT FOR SURE.I LIKED THAT MAN!
You know, you should consider the term "fascism" when you talk about yourself. Have you ever heard of the Third Reich, i wonder? You are saying that it is okay for one of the greatest countries to torture people? You are suggesting that we go back to colonial ways of torturing suspects? And if you need help with typing, the CAPS LOCK key is on the left side of the keyboard. If you don't know your left and right, "L" is for liberal and the hand that makes an "L" is your left.
Being a self-declared Democrat doesn't immunize you from being an idiot for thinking Nixon was a great president. There's a very short list of people who fit under the word "impeachment".
seriously, i don't if it's just me, but you seem to fall for the character more than a vote record. reagan and clinton, horrible leaders, with class and character though. the best politicians are just the best actors most of the time, imo.
Nixon wasnt a bad president all that screwed him was Watergate, he kept his promises, and there was no direct evidence that pointed to Nixon's actual involvement in the Watergate scandal. It was all done under his administation.
What got Nixon in trouble was that he initially tried to cover up Watergate. If I'm correct, which I might not be, but I thought they had Nixon's conversations recorded as evidence.
Yeah, assasinations of Martin Luther King, Robert Kennedy, Tet, and the bloodiest year of the Vietnam war, the 1968 Democratic convention riots, race riots, burning cities down to the ground. Wonderful time. Joyous. Merry Christmas.
Funny how we can impeach presidents for relatively minor things, but never for thier real sins, like starting illegal wars and making drug deals to finance revolutions in the southern hemisphere.
It looks like you need help. I'm sure you could get help at a hospital or a technology teacher could help you find the CAPS LOCK key on your keyboard. Hint: it's on the left.
Daguy, you obviously have a very low I.Q. To go around stealing statements from others( Ann Coulter) and placing them in totaly inappropriate places is pretty sad. Now onto the video, Nixon was the most racist, sexist, foul-mouthed, anti-semitic leader America has had. Johnson close second
wow now u sound retarded i guess johnson's whole signing the votings rights act of 1965 and stuff was for political cover......even though i am an american sometimes i have to take a step back and agree with foreigners........stupid americans
In fact Johnson was not for civil rights when running for president, he even said in multiple interviews that he was not in favor of the movement. Johnson continued Kennedies policies after his death, one being civil rights.
not thAT i have a low IQ, i know it's a retarded statement i love to see the stupidest of republicans and the stupidest of democrats argue like they do below :P
takes sum more insight to make such a playground with words... my IQ is 129
Typical democrats blatantly insulting republicans. Breeeegs, it's hopeless people like you that gives the democratic party a bad name, and that tarnish our country for that matter.
and i suppose i "tarnish" the country because i disagree with you? and despite your (false) assertion that i am "hopeless" i assure you quite the contrary is true: i have a great deal of hope for the future of America, granted power-hungry, jingoistic neo-cons like you don't run it into the ground!
Quite immature of yourself, but the again I don't expect anything but insults and demoralization out of a liberal. You're blatant verbalizations say it all. Enough said here. I'm also not surprised that your putting words in my mouth, I never said you're tarnishing America because you disagree with me, its because your comment that I replied to made you sound like a complete fool.
haha. now even tho i started a uproar with my stupid comment, ur's is by FAR THE MO)ST RETARDED....i rather be alive than have an imaginary me floating around
still one of the century's greatest president. watergate was a minor event that he had the balls to take the blame for when he could have wrangled out of it like so many presidents have since Nixon.
History will show Bush to be correct and the man for the job. thank goodness Al Gore and his like-minded were not in office when 9-11 occurred. He would have called for lawyers instead of the 82nd Airborne.
Yea the man for the Job to make 911 look like a terrorist act and blow the World Trade Centers up so the government can pass the patriot act! Now the government can do what they want with us, we have no freedom. It allows Police to search without a search warrant, they tap our Phones, read our emails and much much more.
Bush had made no effort to win this war. In the Gulf war we went in with 500,000 soldiers. Now we have about 160,000 six years into it. Also, we were not attacked by Iraq. Al Gore would have bombed Afganistan into the dark ages. Remember though, we were attacked by Saudis. You need to stop getting your info from Sean Hannity. That was almost a quote.
If Al Gore were president we would still be begging the Taliban to turn over Bin Laden. Remember when Al Gore was part of the Clinton cronies all we did was blow up some mud huts in Afghanistan for PR purposes and walk away from it. That after the 1993 WTC attack, the Blackhawk Helicopter shot down in Somalia by Al Qaeda trained operatives, and the 1998 embassy bombings in Africa.
if you don't learn from your mistakes in the past, however are you gonna exceed? History is one of the most important subjects in the world, unless you want all out nuking
look up the nixon link to china and the new world order....yes it dates that far back

You can go on with your ignorant labels. What am I again? Oh, yeah, "a washed-up, desiccated, burned-out wuss of a commie-lib!" wow, and they say poetry is dead, huh? I won't dignify your hate anymore. I am a true American who made the mistake of re-electing Bush, and who is proud to have a daughter in the armed forces who's been there, who pays my taxes so I have the right to question.

Hey moron, why don't you read into your history a little. JFK had 1600 advisers in Vietnam that he wanted out by 1965. He said that it was their war, and they have to win or lose it, not have somebody else win it for them. 4 days after he was killed, LBJ passed a National Security Actions Memorandum that helped escalate the war...and so on.
stevieschnick 4 years ago 2

Vietnam started after WW2 when US wanted French in NATO to contain USSR.
Deal was let French back into its old colony Indochina.
CIA told nationalist Ho Chin Minh "Tough Luck, Europe's more important than your Freedom "!
Ho turned to USSR & hated Chinese to kick them out.
Ike refused to join French war in1954.
Partitioned by DMZ and "mock elections" both cancelled.
Fast forward to 1962 post-Bay of Pigs, Kennedy warding off John-Bircher-types with tough stance in Laos and Vietnam.

violence comes from violence, it spreads from one country-region to the next without end without cause, the only thing you can do is to maxe sure that you prevent it from spreading uncessarily
but yeah, its disgraceful how Vietnam was treated and nowadays they are a great trading partner, much to the bs logic at the time

palmerblade 4 years ago
I totally agree with that comment. I'm a college student right now and I've had several professors who tell storied about protesting the Vietnam War. They were the rich kids who's daddy bought them a draft deferment so they could run down to the docks of San Francisco and spit on the poor blue collar kids as they left for Vietnam, and even 40 years later they still aren't ashamed of it.
Rifle396 4 years ago
Kinda like W's daddy getting him in to the Air National Guard. No one goes to flight school with a C- average. The neo-con hero, W , was just a rich little boy that had daddy and grand daddy's hands opening all the doors for him.
BTW: The deferment was for college students. So, you would have had a deferment too.
rfmullig 4 years ago
But I wouldnt have spit on our troops who were fighting the war.
Rifle396 4 years ago
You are absolutely correct some protesters did behave poorly. The majority did not. As always the most radical makes the news. I saw a lot of protesters when I came home, then I joined them. Most protested as Dr. King suggested, peacefully.
rfmullig 4 years ago
Are you telling me that SDS protested peacefully when they took over buildings? Did the protestors at the 1968 DNC protest peacefully? Did the protestors in San Francisco protest peacefully when they spit on our troops and threw balloons filled with Urine on them? Was Jane Fonda looking out for us when she went to Vietnam and denounced our country? Sell that John Kerry, who is also pictured with Fonda in today's Communist Vietnam as "hero's who helped win the war against the United States."
Rifle396 4 years ago
Furthermore I am not going to defend our government's actions in Vietnam. LBJ lost the war by micromanaging every aspect of it even though he had zero military background. However that doesn't warrant burning American flags and spitting on those who can't buy a draft deferment. Claiming that was only a small portion of the hippy movement is rewriting history.
Rifle396 4 years ago
Actually, assuming that it was only the hippy movement that was protesting is "rewriting history". However, who got the press? The hippies. BTW: The neo-con movement is what got us into Vietnam.
rfmullig 4 years ago
The Neo-Con movement is what got us into Vietnam? You mean to tell me that Lyndon Johnson the ultra Liberal big government spender was a Neo-Conservative? I don't think so.
Rifle396 4 years ago
BTW you said earlier, "I saw a lot of protesters when I came home, then I joined 4 years old in 1968. You must have been one hell of a protestor. them." I just checked your profile and you say you are 43. That would make you 4 years old in 1968. You must have been one heck of a soldier turn protestor.
Rifle396 4 years ago

Yeah and LBJ didn't defraud this country when he stuffed the ballot boxes in Texas to be elected to the U.S. Senate? Nixon didn't do anything his predecessors hadn't done; the only difference between Nixon and past and current presidents is that Nixon got caught.
Rifle396 4 years ago
I lived through those Nixon years from 1968 until our government sabotaged him regarding Watergate thereby allowing shithead Ford to take over and then to lose South Viet Nam.

Yea the man for the Job to make 911 look like a terrorist act and blow the World Trade Centers up so the government can pass the patriot act! Now the government can do what they want with us, we have no freedom. It allows Police to search without a search warrant, they tap our Phones, read our emails and much much more.
Bush is a great puppet for the Job.
mydigitaltrends 4 years ago
If Al Gore had been elected, how do you that 9/11 would have even occurred? Highly presumptuous to believe that.
luridplanet 4 years ago 3
LOL:
Bush had made no effort to win this war. In the Gulf war we went in with 500,000 soldiers. Now we have about 160,000 six years into it. Also, we were not attacked by Iraq. Al Gore would have bombed Afganistan into the dark ages. Remember though, we were attacked by Saudis. You need to stop getting your info from Sean Hannity. That was almost a quote.
rfmullig 4 years ago
If Al Gore were president we would still be begging the Taliban to turn over Bin Laden. Remember when Al Gore was part of the Clinton cronies all we did was blow up some mud huts in Afghanistan for PR purposes and walk away from it. That after the 1993 WTC attack, the Blackhawk Helicopter shot down in Somalia by Al Qaeda trained operatives, and the 1998 embassy bombings in Africa.
Rifle396 4 years ago
I agree, Gore was not super strong on geopolitics
but hes great for the environment-green tech, and thats what we need now, radical restructuring of US Economy for greenevolution
I didnt go to Aghanistan because the Taliban cant be defeated
Our great soldier Pat Tillman is a symbol of our policies there
we did fuc up in the 90s, no doubt and our stature in the world has diminished as a result
