Actually you can also use control [command if your PC is a mac] and the plus sign to zoom in.
Control plus +=zoom in
control + - = zoom out

Yep! It's very handy, but my computer is a little crotchety, so for me, there's a chance that doing that will freeze firefox for a few minutes.
