The subs are dual 4ohm so she's running at 1 ohm. She gets a little warm but she's never gone into protect. And I'm pretty sure it hasn't been modified.

prob low gain. my amp can sit at .33 ohm and not go into protection mode but it gets warm. just keep the gain low and most can handle the heat.

Eh, personally I would have downfired the subs, it would have sounded MUCH better. And I would have sealed the box, make it a bit smaller not only for lower-end bass, but also so there could be like a center console you could put stuff in. Not bashing though, I bet that setup beats real nice!

Actually, yeah. In this case downfre would be better since it wouldn't expose the subs to potential damage by contact with foriegn objects as long as the box is designed to compensate the air movement and subwoofer's XMAX in a downfire setup. Also it would sound better downfiring since the subs are firing towards the listening area, low bass doesn't sound as good since the wavelengths don't have time to mature before becoming audible.

That is also the reason why subwoofers sound better rear-fired in the back of cars and SUVs, otherwise they would be facing forward. And when people face them up is simply for volume as the sacrifice is sound quality.

Its actually very comfortable. The chairs have their own armrests of the same height as the box, and my elbow overhangs the armrest and sits on the box between the port and subs next to the cup holders. It worked out nicely. Very comfy, and they sound great!

Well, if there is any distortion coming through your woofers, you can hear it since its right next to you. I might gain some db if I were to stick it a in a car trunk, which is typical of tens. They like smaller airspaces. I like it though; its unique, practical, sounds good and is damn loud. Not to mention, its fun watching the subs dance :P

Why would I want them anywhere else. Watching the subs dance makes for a relaxing drive.

those old rockfords were the best series they ever made, actually underrated. my buddy had the 500 bd and the 800 bd in in chrome in his show car befor they got jacked. he had the 800 pushing 3 jl w3, running at something like .66 ohms, the shit crunched, then the 500 pushing his highs, way under utalized, but he needed it for the show quality. with the chrome connecting piece that made it look like one HUGE amp. i miss those things.

Um just out of curiousity, seems like it bumps, but when the camera moves and you see the remote and Starbucks. there is no movement, is there no Shaking/vibrating bass going on?

Actually the cup and remote shake like crazy, you just can't see it. My camera sucks. It can't even pick up the full excursion. Those subs move about two inches, doesn't show in the vid tho. I hate my camera. Trust me the whole truck shakes, rattles, and vibrates. Typically your box won't vibrate unless you have some huge 15" or 18" drivers with some weight, otherwise the box is solid and heavy enough to resist the vibration, making it the perfect place to put say a cup holder.

That would run one Punch HX2 pretty seriously. I threw one of the fifteens in a three cubic foot generic box I had lyin around. It was three cubic feet with 75 square inch port tuned to 38 hertz. The fucker was way louder than I expected. Louder than the mojo I had just installed into a clients car. I also had more amp to give it. I ran the one HX2 with a an Alpine MRP-M650. I would reccomend an HX2 for the money. You would be very pleased with it I'm sure.
