If you want to emphasize the current or temporary nature of what you are doing, you can use the simple continuous tense: I am studying Economics ....(this may change or end soon.)

@MyIELTS If i say i am studying in a baabab university in the test , is that wrong ?

Of course I know this can mean " now i am studing(action) and in the university(venue) "but actually it's not.

But can't we mean " my status is a student studying in university?"??? and then give the answer like " my major is ....."???

the examiner asked her " what do you study?" her answer was " I`m studying...." shouldn`t she have answered that "I study...."??

Repetition of words may decrease you band score. As she is saying in every sentence i guess, i guess, it may penalize her..

TOEFL has three types, or versions - Paper based test, Computer based, and Internet based, the Internet based has speaking as well.

thanks God there was no speaking part in TOEFL when i took the exam but i heard they will start adding it.

i sat paper based TOEFL exam in may 2008 and i got 583 which qualified me to study in UK. There was no speaking part at that time.

she responded only with short answer. in ielts, everyone should reply with longer answers to get a higher band!
