That dancer is Robert Swift Arrow Rose, he is Cherokee and my hubby. He also does OK Style Fancy War Dance, Laguna Pueblo Eagle Dance, Grass, and Traditional. Yup, he's awesome.
I grew up loving my culture and being proud I'm an Aboriginal. I'm cree, in case your wondering. I fell in love with hoop dancing the first time I tried it. Sadly I don't do it as much as I would love too. It looks hard but is very easy once you get the hang of it!!!
the girl i know dances with 27 hoops. he is very good :) and hoop dnaces in real life are SO much better then on a screen but its still nice to see :) and of corse our people are still doing it... i should hope anyways... if our dances die then we die along with it...right? it would be more then horrible if it did!
Wow, thanks for posting this video, it makes my heart ache to dance again. I practiced up until I was up to 20 hoops at one time back when I was in junior high, now it makes me feel proud to see that people are still doing it
