Hey man I live in California too and I want to start buying stuff from cannonfuse so I can start making my own artillery shells do you have any tips on the lift charges cause I am not sure if I can get black powder and also are the tube/can shells easier to deal with than the ball shells?

@h3llom4te get the 1" and 3/4" mortars from cannonfuse along with fuse and other stuff. jut make your own black powder lift and stars, its not hard. the best is to roll your own can shells out of computer paper, dont get the ball shell for this small size of a mortar.

@h3llom4te haha i thought i could do the same thing when i first started, but it doesnt work. making black powder and stars is simple, trust me. all u need is 4 chemicals and you can make both. all you need is potassium nitrate, charcoal, sulfur, and dextrin. they even sell kits to make 1lb of good lift powder for like $12. pm me if u have any more questions.

you didnt make the tube, you bought them from cannonfuse(dot)com also, buy some crysanthemum fuse, cut it into 1/4 inch pieces and use it for burst charge, all it is is titanium flash powder rapped in laquer....not kiddin, use it. works great for break charges and you can use GREEN NOT YELLOW fast burning artillery shell fuze for lift, thats where i stared, now i make all my own stuff

Yo, I noticed you had a drill sitting beside your box of fireworks supplies. Don't use that drill near any sort of powder, because one spark from friction and you'll be blown out of your house.

you should never use whisle mix as lift. especially since you took it out of another firework. granulated black powder is the most common. h3 and meal black powder are sometimes used too. and its 10% of the wieght with black powder

you have to make sure the gas from the lift charg does not get in to the shell or you will end up with a flower pop
