Yea, but Cursed Seal is rarely used. Any decks out there that have enough field clearing cards still has the upper hand against it for most of the time.

A successful Cursed Seal negating Countdown is more or less the end-be-all for this deck unless somehow it runs an alternate win condition or unless it only uses Final Countdown as a distraction, such as using it to aid the conditions for a Self-Destruct Button. xD

@ShaolinYautja Either way, people shouldn't be upset about the inability to stop Final Countdown once it's in motion. They have 10 turns to think how to overcome the barriers, which shouldn't be too difficult since the FC player already lost 2000 life points, so 6000 remaining to take out. Personally I wouldn't bother with Cursed Seal since it's complete crap and only affects Spells. I'd rather use Eradicator Epidemic Virus with a Hopeless Dragon deck to wipe out their S/T cards xD

Pretty much, so far there aren't really any cards out there that could stall out and skip multiple opponent's battle phases, instead it relies on back row continuous cards a lot and counter traps or similar to protect those cards so that's it's Achilles' heel. Currently, with the release of Momentary Truce it could give countdown deck a chance to skip 3 of the opponent's battle phases but that's only if the countdown player reach all of them at the right time when needed most.

You should show this deck in a duel with Jack or Crow, they´re much better in breaking through defense than Yusei. I´d guess Marshmallon alone would stop Yusei for 10 turns...

Oh, and: Is there another way to stop Final Countdown besides winning earlier? Like removing it from grave or so?

@AsilaPiscu Jack doesn't make any difference. Crow is just too much of a complete dick to face against. His LV10 deck is about the real challenge with this deck. I'd rather Self-Destruct with Crow than to use Final Countdown. In fact, that's what I should have done instead of using Self-Destruct against Kalin.

And once Final Countdown is in motion, there is no way to stop it. Gotta win within the 20 turns or game over. Better to slow it down or negate it when you get the chance.

Final Countdown decks are mostly vulnerable to direct damage effects (any burn deck or decks mixed burn cards) with unless for somehow they run cards that can maintain increasing a decent or large number of life points in a short time.

@ShaolinYautja For every offense, there´s a perfekt shield. For every defense, there´a perfect attack. Final Countdown decks normally negates monster attacks and not much more. That´s why burn decks or deck destruction is effective.

However, I didn´t ask for a strategy vs. the deck, I asked for a strategy versus the card. If I can´t beat my oponent, can I stop the card effect, that was my question, and I heard, the answer is no.

Against the card itself, you only only stop it by negating it's effect once it's resolved the effect stays till either the user of Final Countdown wins or loses or in any other case a tie game happens (such as via Self-Destruct Button). The best cards I can think of against Final Countdown is any card that negates the activation and effects of Spell Cards. Most Counter Traps have the ability to do this.

2 cards I can think of that are useful against Final Countdown are 'Prohibition' and 'Cursed Seal Of The Forbidden Spell'.

For Prohibition declare FC as the card not allowed to be used but it has to be already active prior to the opponent reaching a FC to play it.

Cursed Seal can render FC entirely dead if it counters FC successfully, since it render all spells of the same name unplayable for the rest of duel until the next round.

This is the effect of Prohibition:

"When you activate this card, declare 1 card name. Cards with that name and their effects cannot be used. Cards on the field before this card was activated are not affected (including face-down cards)."

Self explanatory, if they have not reach countdown yet they are screwed until they have any spell or trap removal type of card, if not then the game is pretty much yours.

Also, Toon Cannon Soldier does not require Toon World to be summoned.

Final Countdown decks are so frustrating to play against. After a few rounds, you getting nervous and starting to missplay. xD Well mask of darkness and T roar is also a great combo.

A Final Countdown deck with Skill Drain and Counter Traps like Dark Bribe+Solemn Judgment would be a one of the most frustrating to play against.

You can forget about getting rid of those continuous stall cards so easily, and since Magician Of Faith is Banned.

Most cases I wouldn't worry about Countdown decks if you have SideDeck burn cards or run a Burn Deck since that is what almost all countdown decks are most vulnerable to.

I just dueled Mimicry in Match Mode and set his deck to my Final Countdown recipe. I only lost once when I used my Six Samurai deck. Over 50% of the time he played the right moves, just like how I would do it.

Not to mention that this is the only way to get the AI using the current Ban List.

Digital version is way better since you have plenty of freedom for decks that you love to construct and try.

Plus, it's only $30 for this game compared to what you actually end up spending for the real deal. I'd say this is a worthwhile investment.
