you are not the only one :/ i went in there to buy some foundation and eye liner and one of the employees approached me and told me "ummm sweetie you do realize mac and makeup is only for pretty people you are too ugly". :( never again have i gone back to a mac.
one time this lady when i was like 16 i walked in a mac store and me and my bf where there we where going to get well he was going to get me so stuff 4 my b-day and the lady said maby you to should come back with your parents i was like we are here with us just us and she said well maby come with so money this is to much we had like 200 on my credit card and ( his ) so she liek ri[ed the stuff out of my hand i was like umm we where goign to bye that she not not any more i was like W.T.F !?!!?!?
I've had experiences like this the last few times I shopped in MAC, and I haven't been back in years. Recently, one of their "artists" stopped me at the mall and asked me what kind of makeup I wear, and I said, "Make Up For Ever. That's all I wear." I actually didn't mean to be rude; I didn't even notice she worked there until after I said it! But MUFE by far surpasses MAC in quality, and it's no more expensive. Plus the associates in Sephora are much nicer because they don't make commission.
@clapyourhandsflyhigh By the way, the last of my old MAC stuff officially went in the trash a few months ago since it's been so long since I've worn it. I've discovered so many better lines that I have no idea why anyone even wears MAC anymore (not to mention that my skin goes nuts and breaks out really easily, so their foundation was AWFUL for me!). My Sephora has one of those dummy associates also; I avoid her if I need real help. lol.
@TheFlare2014 yr an ass like mac workers and btw u should work thete like all the other workers... y did u watch the video if u didnt care or disagreed there are titles for a reason
@miakoolbeans Hey I used to work at Herald square and then on staten island , and yeah we used to get an insane amount of customers! But no matter how bogged down with customers I was, I was never ever rude. Totally agree with you on the mac store employees though, they do ride on some high high horses!
i use to work for MAC and i left and went to work for another company .. i do freelance now.. but i trully understand the rudeness because i h ave felt it workin there,,, i have been approched by rude employees that have worked with me so i def understand , im sorry about your experience, and i worked in Delaware
i really have a problem with MAC people and high end make up people in general. i am pretty young, a teenager, and they never take me seriously and tell me dumb things that i know are not true because i am make up educated. its like they don't acknowledge i am an actual customer
Seems like you are really nice and your feeling are hurt or your really mad. Just act crazier than they are and they will straighten up really fast. Like ask the m a"AWhatis your problem!" You have to act crazier than them ,,,,remember that.
I work for MAC at a Macys location in NY. It's one of the busiest MAC locations in NY! It sucks that you had that experience for sure. Sounds like she was just lazy and didnt want to try the color on your and just wanted to ring you up and get you out of there. We do deal with an insane amount of customers per day, but still she could have been more polite. I notice people are more rude and pretentious at MAC stores versus MAC counters. Thats just been my experience. She sounds terrible though!
u shd have told her to shut up and leme try my things myself, i only wana buy from here and i have a good knowledge than u so help urself walking away from there...shaaaa she was so rude to u i got angry coz i have faced such ppl myself and they get insulted by me always ...and i prefer going shoping on such shops where there are rude ppl coz i feel so relaxed to insult them out coz they are always rude to innocent ppl.
I live in Ireland and even here i find the girls at the mac counters sooo rude and snobby! Totally agree with you and ive talked about with my friends and.they also agree, what is it with mac girls!?
So let me ask you this, after the poor customer service you received, did you still make a purchase from the Mac counter where u experienced this rude behavior??? I so that is part of the problem. IJS!!! Excellent customer service (in my book), is a must. (period). If u/we continue to make the purchase, then all we r saying is.......WHEN U TREAT ME LIKE SHIT, I WILL STILL BUY UR PRODUCT....if there are no consequences to your actions, there is not need in changing your behavior!!!
In the big cities mac ladies are hella rude, mac guys are alright for some reason idk. why are they intent on treating their loyal customers like shoplifters i'll never understand. I feel your pain baby girl.
OMG YES!!! THEY ARE SOOOO RUDE!!!!! I HATE MAC EMPLOYEES! THEY JUST STAND THERE AND STARE YOU UP AND DOWN AND THE ONLY TIME THEY ACTUALLY ACT HALF WAY DECENT IS WHEN THEY NO YOUR BUYING SOMETHING FOR SURE! :S
It's actually very true! I applied at MAC and got interviewed in Austin, I really want to work at MAC still but not in this city! I always go to Macy's because I feel like the MAC girls there are super friendly, but then i used to work at Macys so maybe its because they know me? lol but yea I've had girls roll their eyes at me, ignore me, and look at me ugly when I know what I need and refuse anything else lol! RUDE
Most of the girls are rude like i posted before. After all that I started dealing with the guys that works at MAC. One "guy" was soooo helpful to me that I tipped him. He was like ahwww thanks nobody has ever tipped me. I said very softly "well the girls at MAC for the most part are rude" so I thought i'd try a MAC guy and you are SO much nicer. I always deal with the MAC guys now. And to tell U the truth there very, very good and their so much nicer to deal with. Try a guy the next time you go
Yes the girls R rude!! After a few times of MAC girls being rude-I finally said to the 1st girl after she was so rude I said" hey if U don't like your job U should just quit" OMG she did NOT like that I said well hey your really rude so I figure your unhappy so just quit your job.She walked away. The next few times went in there not all were rude, but I have had others that were rude&I always say 2 them "if you don't like your job just quit"! Try that out (but say it nice)& I'm telling U it works
My MAC people are always wicked nice to me! Im 13 the firsdt time I whent to MAC like probly 3 years ago they were a bit shocked because I was sooo youn.. but they were REALLY nice.. but... my Sephora people are ROTTEN to me! RUDEST people ever! If I go in alome they try to trick me into buying stuff that I KNOW is not my shade! If I go in alone (lolwith out my mom) they wont let me get my b-day present and If i do its a sample size of wrinkle cream! WTF hello im freekin 13!!! they piss me off!
lol green concealer for underneath the eye...if u ever go in there again, point out green is to cover redness/pimples, if she's talking about a corrector for under the eyes, she needs something orange-ish (salmon colour) that conceals greenish blueishness under the eye (yes, I know greenish blueishness is not an actual word but it's the colour under the eye that needs correcting usually : D
Louis Vuitton sales associates are the RUDEST of them all. I actually confronted one of them and told her that she is in no place to judge me since I make double her annual salary!! That shut her up quickly.
I'm very lucky that the MAC stores I go to are really nice. I'm only 13 and when I go i'm kinda scared about them being rude.. But they always are very helpful and were able to help me find what I needed :]
OMG!! I Refuse to go MAC anymore!! They are so rude! I've gone to many different locations and they are always sooo rude or they ignore me! Sephora 100%!
Everytime I go into MAC they are so rude! I went to the one back where I am from and they were super rude everytime. I now live in a different state, and its the same story here.
I work for MAC, and I am sorry this happened to you!
I PROMISE you not all counters/stores are like that!
in the makeup world, its a big accomplishment to become a MAC artist, and unfortunately some people take it way too far, get a big head, snotty attitudes, etc.
I've seen it first hand.
Its annoying.
Again, sorry for the bad experience! If you are ever in fairview heights IL, stop by and see me! ;)
I freakin hate going to the mac counter they always treat me like i don know what anything is thn act all dumb whn i tell them
Exactly what i want. They are so stuck up mac isnt evn that great the only product that i love from them is paint pot other than that sephora is my place. If the mac employees were nicer id probably buy more
Hey!! I'm glad you made this video because every single time I go to MAC I get bad service, plus I've found out that most Sephora products last longer and are better quality.
green will combat redness or dark circles and THEN you put a flesh tone concealer over that......its an older concept...my mom uses it but ive never liked it myself....but no, that lady with the green concealer wasnt an itiot, she just had a more traditional concept make up.
I'd love an update as to what you did! Did you call MAC and complain? I've had numerous rude MAC staff serve me before (if you can even say that they were 'serving' me). I've never had the price tag pushed down my throat, but I've been told what I should and shouldn't use on my skin when -I- know what my skin type is and what is best. The other thing that has annoyed me in the past is that they treat you as if you know nothing about makeup (I'm actually a MUA lol). I'm from Australia, too!!
I have, I also live in Los angeles, and people are quite snoody. I went to a mac store, I am 16 and African-American, and I was not dressed up, or wearing anything on my face, I was jshopping on a normal day when the mall wasn't busy. I wanted to pick something up from mac, so I go in, and start checking out the brushes, and the mua doesn't even greet me, she walks over and is like , "those brushes are 40-50 dollars. I didn't ask for a price check, I just want quality customer care.
I hate MAC, and have not bought anything from them since 2007. You are so right, if you go in there with no make up they are rude to you. Oh, and don't even try to return an item. They act like you are stealing from them. No more MAC products for me. Thank you for your video!
i know this is old but i completely agree. i was at MAC yesterday and the mua's are so stuck up. they ignored me completely i had to ask for help. i was so disappointed i actually returned my MAC items and went to SEPHORA where they employees were really sweet and helpful. if i order from MAC again it will be online
Oh, and the concealer lady was wrong- green concealer is to camouflage redness, it's not for undereye circles. Supposedly yellow concealer is for that, but to me it's always just makes you look like you have yellow eye bags :/
I've never encountered a rude MAC employee, but I've been snubbed at other counters, usually the "high end" ones. I was trying to get a refill on my Angel perfume last year & the salesbitches totally ignored me till I loudly asked for help. I'm kinda goth & I expect it to a point, but still. You should have filed a complaint with the store manager.
And LMAO @ her calling MAC "expensive"! No honey, Chanel & Yves Saint Laurent are expensive, MAC is *affordable*. Hell, that's why I buy it.
I PERSONALLY HATE ALL PEOPLE AT MAC STORE! They are rude; snobish; they think they know better; they are lasy and don`t help. I go to Sephora and I`m treated like a queen.......Just buy Mac online! kkk
I went into the MAC counter near my college, So I went in wearing like, old jeans and Boots and like this Star Wars shirt thats covered in paint.
There was NOONE looking for anything at this counter, like 3 people working it. I picked up a few things like and went up to ask about the MSF Natural cause they didn't have my colour out, 2 girls just like looked at me and just like snubbed me and continued their coversation
Went up to the third girl who was like "Oh the MSFs are a bit pricey hun"
I am 35, have a bit of gray due to genetics. If my gray hair shows some employees automatically show me the heavier cream products, dark lip products, no decent eye colors & never even suggest mascara. It's frustrating when I ask for a shimmer or a lighter shade of product & am told "it won't work for you due to your age." I have a good skin care routine & good skin but due to the gray they always push the heavy concealers & powders. I look older after the consultation and make over.
Actually reporting the employee WILL get results. No, you will not get "free shit", but the employee WILL be spoken to by the MRO. Customer complaints are taken VERY seriously in the company.
Why didn't talk to a manager? her in Toronto the girls that work at MAC (well the MAC store that I go to) ARE NOT IN ANY SHAPE OR FORM are NOT suppose to give anyone a problem or attitute because the Manager is sooo nice but she's very straight to the point and tells her employees the way it suppose to be!!! Call MAC and see what they say, give them all the info, your city etc etc they will know what to do.. all the best to you!
Yeah hun I wouldn't waste anymore time on it - you could waste another 6 minutes explaining it to them like you did to us and I guarantee you nothing is going to be done about it. The sad fact is you are just a few pennies to them and they aren't going to go out of their way for one second to please you. If you call they will listen, but the buck stops there, no action will ever become of it. It's just the way it is these days.
I have the same problem, but I think I get rude attitude because of my acne scars, like I don't deserve to have makeup or can't be "glamorous", it's like sorry for being me...fuck! Besides, I've worn cosmetics since I was 15 because of bad scars so I've had a lot of practice hiding my flaws, I could probably put on makeup better than these bitches. I'll gladly take her job in this economy and treat people better!
i've been to several mac counters and i'm 15 but i look older than i am but they treat me like a kid even though i've realized there is a lot about makeup that i know that they don't. they just ignore and don't help me with anything and they don't even greet me as if i'm not a customer. it makes me not want to buy things from them
I'm getting fucking tired of these snobby retarded mac employees I've gone to 3 different mac stores and a mac counter and it seems like to me that they don't even interview these douchebags! The chicks and the guys all have fucked up and fake ass attitudes. Cmon! all I need is my matte cream but I've decided to give that up and not be treated poorly for a damn cream. :(
omg last time i was wearing mineral powder darker then my skin, yes imma dude lol, then i asked some chick if she could test which is my color for the studio fluid and i told her i had makeup on then she just grab some random foundation and put it over my makeup and it looked so dark on me and she said perfect -_-
RAT THAT TWAT OUT I JUST LOVE IT WHEN THESE BITCH AND FAGGOTS ACT ASIF THERE THE SHIT AND KING/QUEEN OF WORLD WHEN MAKING 5TO8 DOLARS IN HOUR YET THEY FREAK OUT THAT YOUR WEARING FUCKING SWEATPAINTS WHO FUCKING CARES YOU FAGGOTS YOU HAVE TO FASHOIONBE EVERY MINUTE OF EVERYDAY GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE. DONT QUESTION HER THERE CHEAPASSES.
Yeah I have been to MAC in Macys a few times and I have only gotten one girl who was a complete sweetheart but the rest were complete bitches.....they seemed completely uninterested in helping and annoyed when I had any questions....what a joke.
WOW how rude and STUPID :S i'm a makeup artist, and have been trying to apply to both mac and sephora for a very long time... nobody ever calls me back, and it's stories like this that pains me because i know SO MUCH MORE than most of their existing employees... ps. green concealer is for REDNESS! if you want to cover BLUE (under eyes) use ORANGE and if you want to cover PURPLE (under eyes) use YELLOW ... wow... that's so sad... i'm sorry that happened to you...
You shouldn't have to deal with that. Report that ignorant idiot. She's lucky she hasn't met me!!! I love Mac and I will not have some idiot make up sales reject ruin my Mac experience. If I were you I would have bought one hundred dollars worth of make up from some one else and rubbed her missed commission in her stupid face!
Oh hell no! I would have had bitch fit right then and there. I'm glad you're white other wise I would have thought something else. Where I live the girls are pretty nice BUT I've noticed when I have my makeup done they're nicer and when I look crapy not so much. I feel like I have to have my face right to even go in there lol.
I usually hate going to MAC counters because all the girls are rude. My first time going there (I was 18) I had no makeup on or anything, just was a lazy shopping day for me. But one of the workers kept giving me weird looks and even asked my age, I told her I was 18 and her reply "Oh, you look like you're 14." Came across rude to me, because it was none of her business. They make me feel like you have to have a bunch of makeup on and be dressed nicely to be able to look at the products.
I got 400 dollars yesterday for my 14th birthday and I was so excited to go shopping. I went to Juicy Couture and I found this cute leather bag. It was missing the price tag so I asked a lady that worked there what it costs. She told me it was $148. I had to think about it so I walked around. I finally decided to buy it. My mom was shopping so I took my money and went there. First she tried to give me the bag on display. Then she charged me $318 dollars for it, over half the price she said! UGH.
I have been a counter mngr. at estee lauder in my 20's (I am 39) and then after going back to college I worked at a Bare Escentuals Boutique and we always joked around about MAC. Younger girls would come in to Bar Minerals with breakouts and wonder why? We always asked do you use MAC? YES!!! Insider joke... MACNE!!!
I've only had a weird mac experience once on my very first visit to the counter but I haven't seen that women since. I wanted the mac wipes and so I asked if they remove all kinds of makeup and she said, "It removes all of 'our' makeup''. And my first and so far only trip to a sephora there were 3 women working, two acted like the stereotypical 'beauty shop' air heads and the one woman was so professional, 1 out of 3 isn't so bad
in arab countries, mac store clerks are really nice but they do overwelm you with products :S. In Saudia, no one talks to you because men are only allowed to work i these stores, so you are truly free to roam aroud. In America, they were all like "arabs, they must be rich, attack, attack" eeek, but this gay man was really nice and helpful :)
I prefer to order online, bcuz the ppl there r really rude, they don't make it a comfortable environment to shop.
The few times I have Gone to th MAC store I makeup artist don't even acknowledge tht I'm there, so don't even buy anything in the store. I just go online, I try to avoid th MAC store if I can. I live in Hollywood, and LA is famous 4 havin lots of arrogant ppl but OMG
In my local Sephora there's always someone there to help me out if i need something.
That is so rude i cant belive it! Me and my mom once walked into a coach store and we were both wearing comfy sweats cause it was one of those lazy weekends and they would not even come up to us they just glanced at us but when another customer came dressed nice they all raced over to them. Lets not forget there were anout 6 workers!
I just noticed this video and saw that it was made in 2009....anyhow, I gotta SOOOO AGREE with you on this. I've been saying this for quite some time. WHY???!! I have gone to different MAC stores/counters and NEVER encountered a nice sales person!! Thank you!
Oh my god. I have this same problem with a certain lady at my mac store. What is wrong with these people. I emailed customer service. You should do that.
Really understand what you mean, I was there yesterday, and I'M SO MAD!
A lady was soo extremely rude to me, I was gonna buy the Sushi Flower, and I just walked in and asked this lady to help me find it, and she was like: "Aren't you too young to buy at MAC?" with a really bitchy face...?! I'm 17, but I look a little younger, but you don't ask people that?! Everyone can buy at MAC.. Jeez!
THis is my first video of yours that I've seen. I'm sorry that you had such a negative experience with this SA. I don't know how you resolved - being a business owner, I suggest that people always go immediately to the supervisor, and also put in writing what occurred and send it to a head office. It could be the supervisor isn't doing her job ensuring her staff is properly trained in customer service. Head office likes to know what their area supers. are doing or not :) oxo
Yeah, I have had a bad experience w/MAC too. My most recent instance, was with the counter manager. I have a favorite artist at MAC, and one particular evening, as he was helping me choose my products, his manager kept interrupting him, and staring at him... I guess she thought I wasn't valuable enough to get good customer service? All the staring... started to aggravate me, so I just took my purchase and left. I think he is the ONLY MAC aritst I met who knows how to treat customer's.
i think that that is really rude and if i were you i would totally call that store and tell them bout that lady and tell them that she was really rude and she wasnt very helpful
SAME THING! because i am younger the people do NOT take me seriously! I H-A-T-E and its annoying... I don't believe its fair that they treat me this way just because i am younger. I understand if I'm just fumbling around with blue eye shadow with friends laughing around making a mess but no, i am taking swatches and not bothering anyone. They do NOT leave me alone... they say CAN I HELP YOU? or DO YOU NEED ASSISTANCE? every 3 min like im 4 and so i just leave. argh
NOT JUST MAC,SEPHOA TOO!!!! ALSO, THEY DONT KNOW HOW TO FIND FOUNDATION FOR YOU..THEY ALWAYS FIND A POWDER 1000000000000 SHADES DARKER THAN YOU, THEY ALWAYS DO THAT!! INSTEAD OF BRIGHT, UR FACE LOOKS LIKE CHOCOLATE POWDER ALL OVER IT! THEY DUNNO SHIT..ITSGOOD TO NEVER TAKE THEIR ADVICE ON NOTHING, GIVE EM A LIST OF STUFF U NEED AND THATS ALL!
I hate going to the mac counter. Most of the time they ignore me, and they act incredibly fake. If youre an asshole I'll be more offended if you smile excessively and try too hard to be nice.
I think it has something to do with MAC every MAC i have visited and I mean in my city and other cities I have visited. They have rude employees. I buy online or at the CCO
Generally, Younger employees of minium wage duties are rude, beacuse they were like that in school, and did not achieve any good grades to get a good jobs. As they get older, they will be sorry they messed arround in school and got a bad job.
@smileyking96 MAC is not a minimum wage job. . .where i live (VA) MAC starts out at $14.50 and that's PART-TIME. Further more, MAC is not a "bad job". very rude of you to think that because someone is a makeup artist they did poorly in school. Some people actually WANT to be a MUA as a career. . .
In conclusion, my point is that some abnoxious students working for low wages did not do well in school. It was moronic of me the jump to the conclusion of most. I therefore correst myself by saying some minimum wage employees are rude because of their failings in school. I realize some way be rude and have high wages, whilst some low wage employees are not rude at all.
When I got into the MAC store for the first time, my dad was with me and they were very helpful ( I am 16) and stuff. But then i got there with 2 of my friends, and they didn't eveb look at me. that's so rude.
one time my friends and i were in MAC and we were trying kinda a lot of items and this MAC person came up to us and was like "girls you need to stop playing with the makeup or you need to leave." my friends actually were gonna buy something but we just left. and they sorta made this one person sit in the makeup chair for an hour while they were helping other people.
Everytime i go to the same Mac counter theres a different lady working there so thats good. Ive noticed tho that young girls working there are alittle stuck up compared to older ladies that are always helpful. I guess its a mere matter of female jealousy. Oh btw ive found out that when i look serious and snobbish the ladies there tend to be really eager to help me than when i am overly sweet and nice lol.
I never go to MAC counters, so I can't say I've had bad experiences there-I always buy online. But, I ALWAYS have bad experiences at Bloomingdale's. The sales people are non-existent/rude and act like they are so above you! I hated it so much to the point that I completely stopped shopping there.
gosh this reminds me of that scene from Pretty Woman with Julia Roberts, lol, for the high price of MAC products I think that there service should be better, you did the right thing reporting it. They tend to be a lil stuck up bcuz they're working for MAC, just ignore them ask for what you want and get out quick or better yet shop online!
This is because MAC sucks. LOL the last time I went there, they CAKED my makeup on and ruined my eyeshadow, and it took 20 minutes to get it off. I had to go to Lancome to get it off.
Mac employee's are always rude as hell to me. I guess I'm not pretty enough for them, they always have their noses in the air and act like you don't know how to use makeup.
Wow, what a nasty thing! Terrible to say "Oh honey those are expensive" EWE! I have had SOOOOO many rude MAC people! And quite a few really nice ones :) I guess it's one or the other. One of my rudest encounters were with one. I have been wearing Lady Bug (it's a red lipstick) for... years. And the one was like "No, no it would look HORRIBLE with your coloring, and your teeth"... thanks lady! THANKS! haha
yeah i can tell ur nw20 lol thats what I am - rude mac girls I hate them LOL they were totally rude at nordstrom helping me with nars - im still annoyed
Wow. Yeah, mac has started to become known for have rude employees. When I go to mac, there is one lady that I really like to work with because when I went to mac for the first time, she gave me sort of the 411 on the mac brand. She was super helpful and I really enjoy going to mac when she's there. However, one time I went and the lady was busy so I went there asking for something specific and this lady was like oh we don't carry that and walked away and didn't even offer something else. Rude!
sorry this happened to you, i experienced rude "mac girls" once or twice when i actually went into a mac store. i refuse to buy mac products and love the makeup that i have. mac is overrated in my book. i respect makeup artists but come on they are working "retail" and are not above and beyond the customers that walk into their stores. i get upset with many retail "workers" not all, cuz they can be extremely rude and i would love to tell them just how insignificant their career is! take care!
i always rant about mac girls too. sephora girls are pretty bad too, but mac girls are like the worst, at least where I live. If I go in the makeup stores without makeup they treat me like i don't know ANYTHING about makeup and i don't belong to the place or something. it's really frustrating.
Girl y, i had a really bad experience too the girl there i think was a manager .i tried to back to mac and she was really was funny about it .!!!So i know what you mean .I walked in the door and she snapped at me.I have worked for retail for 15 years so i know how to treat people right and that was not it . i feel the same !!! girl
You're a better woman than me I would have went postal on that bitch! As a matter of fact just yesterday I was placing a phone order and the lady was rude I told her I didn' t want to go through with the order since she was in a bad mood.
Every time i go to mac i always leave pissed off cuz im spending my dam money and i never get am employee thats even partially friendly.....they always make me feel like Im asking them to do me a favor when they help me. Most of the time i go in and i know exactly what i want so they dont even have to swatch anything or apply anything. The customer service people on the phone are rude too... so now i shop at sephora =]
The same thing happened to me recently at my local mac shop. I wasn't wearing any makeup & had just thrown my hair up quickly after work. This Young girl came approached whilst i was looking at lipsticks, and was like "this is a rather expensive makeup brand". i just like smiled. And she just stood there watching me browse, not even asking if i need help. It was just so uncomfortable, i think she thought i was going to steal something.
Well I haven't been to a Mac store before but I have been to Ulta and let me tell you the employees are pure rude. I am thirteen years old but I look atleast 16-18 and the first time I went to Ulta I wore a army camouflage shirt that was baggy and 3 times to big for me, and a ulta girl flat out said "Your not a marine" I know I'm not a marine damn it but the way she said it was obnoxious every time I go their I feel looked down upon.
I returned Mac Painterly because it gave me 'crepe eye'..looked so disgusting. The MUA told me I was obviously 'applying it incorrectly', like I was totally clueless. She wouldn't accept that it might not work on very dry skin. I asked for a refund or exchange and she kept me waiting forever, to refer me to her manager. After a lot of discussion they allowed me 'this time' to swop it for an eye liner. I will never shop at Mac again, ever.
every time I go to mac, they are so mean to me beacuse i look young. It makes me very mad because I drop over 200 dollors I go there. I know how you feel
I went to MAC for the first time today and the lady talked all quite and I was smiling and being polite and she talked in monotone and gave me a look. But normally at Sephora the people are sooo smart and nice.
i think the girls that work at mac counters are sooo rude too! maybe the they angry cause they work at a counter or something? one day i went to a mac counter in macys asking this lady about makeup and stuff and she was so rude ! so me and my friends started to annoy her about her job lol
yes i did !!!! i went up there i said i have never got any mac brushes can u help me out and she didnt answer me and then i went to the other side of the counter were the brushes were and she walked with me and i was like thats a basic eye shadow brush and she said 224 and i was like can u please write it down and she turned around wrote it down slid it off the counter and walked away i was going to buy a lot of lip stuff but i just walked away
omg i'm sooo sorry she was so rude to you!! i worked for mac for 4 years so if you ever have any questions you can ask me any time!!!! she was probably new .. i hope!! and you should tell the manager .... we want customers to come back not get offended!!!
It actually means alot that you responded to this and basically represented MAC (in my mind at leaste). I know that one person being rude repeatedly doesn't mean MAC as a whole doesn't teach their employees customer service...they just really need to work with this girl. Lol
and I did tell a manager, so I hope something was said to her & not just blown off.
I think she has a new job at Ulta in Oklahoma CIty. Rudest peron I have ever met, scary. The person that hired her needs to be more careful, there are children that go in that store. Scary Scary!
omg that is so true everytime i go to mac with no make up on they never want to help me out but when i go in with make up on everyone runs to me..they are so lame..like seirously..
@MACbarbi3 totally true...they make such judgements on people like that, as if no make up means you are a waste of time, lots of make up....she's for real.
It is intimidating when people act like that the first time you go somewhere and are asking about their products...I hate it because MAC products are great but I don't even want to go to the store anymore because of her. I will just order online.
I can't deal with people like that. I am too nice though so I wouldn't have said anything to her but I would've just said no thank you and left. Or asked for another SA. You should definitely call her immediate supervisor there at the counter and also contact HQ somehow. (Since that's not the first encounter w/ her). Rude people suck.
You have sensitive skin, beware of anything w/ silicone (or a word ending in "cone"). I breakout bigtime w/ that. :P
I am too nice too. I didn't say anything at all to her, I think that was why I was so mad by the time I got home and had to say something on the video.
First off i'm so upset that your first meeting with her she was profiling. That is the worst thing you can do especially when you work in the customer service business. I know they should have like a number you can call to report. i really think if you have multiple issues with a particular person to report them. What awful experience. As for green concealer i think it's for redness not for dark circles but then i could be wrong. let us know how it turns out. Blessings.
No, its kind of MAC in general.. I always end up going back and returning something because of false information, or they actually put things i didnt ask for in there. And green concealor is for redness.. what a rreetarrd.. aahaha
you are not the only one :/ i went in there to buy some foundation and eye liner and one of the employees approached me and told me "ummm sweetie you do realize mac and makeup is only for pretty people you are too ugly". :( never again have i gone back to a mac.

Plus the associates in Sephora are much nicer because they don't make commission.
clapyourhandsflyhigh 1 week ago
@clapyourhandsflyhigh By the way, the last of my old MAC stuff officially went in the trash a few months ago since it's been so long since I've worn it. I've discovered so many better lines that I have no idea why anyone even wears MAC anymore (not to mention that my skin goes nuts and breaks out really easily, so their foundation was AWFUL for me!). My Sephora has one of those dummy associates also; I avoid her if I need real help. lol.

So let me ask you this, after the poor customer service you received, did you still make a purchase from the Mac counter where u experienced this rude behavior??? I so that is part of the problem. IJS!!! Excellent customer service (in my book), is a must. (period). If u/we continue to make the purchase, then all we r saying is.......WHEN U TREAT ME LIKE SHIT, I WILL STILL BUY UR PRODUCT....if there are no consequences to your actions, there is not need in changing your behavior!!!

lol green concealer for underneath the eye...if u ever go in there again, point out green is to cover redness/pimples, if she's talking about a corrector for under the eyes, she needs something orange-ish (salmon colour) that conceals greenish blueishness under the eye (yes, I know greenish blueishness is not an actual word but it's the colour under the eye that needs correcting usually : D

Generally, Younger employees of minium wage duties are rude, beacuse they were like that in school, and did not achieve any good grades to get a good jobs. As they get older, they will be sorry they messed arround in school and got a bad job.
smileyking96 1 year ago
@smileyking96 MAC is not a minimum wage job. . .where i live (VA) MAC starts out at $14.50 and that's PART-TIME. Further more, MAC is not a "bad job". very rude of you to think that because someone is a makeup artist they did poorly in school. Some people actually WANT to be a MUA as a career. . .
Daydremer17 1 year ago
@Daydremer17
1: I'm not saying it is a minnium wage job.
2: I'm not saying she messed around in school.

Oh btw ive found out that when i look serious and snobbish the ladies there tend to be really eager to help me than when i am overly sweet and nice lol.
rexandlef 1 year ago 2
I never go to MAC counters, so I can't say I've had bad experiences there-I always buy online. But, I ALWAYS have bad experiences at Bloomingdale's. The sales people are non-existent/rude and act like they are so above you! I hated it so much to the point that I completely stopped shopping there.

Girl you're just too nice! When she said to you "oh no, you're not NW20" you should've just been like "LISTEN BITCH" and set her straight.

gosh this reminds me of that scene from Pretty Woman with Julia Roberts, lol, for the high price of MAC products I think that there service should be better, you did the right thing reporting it.

THANKS! haha

If I go in the makeup stores without makeup they treat me like i don't know ANYTHING about makeup and i don't belong to the place or something. it's really frustrating.

next time... you need to complain to the manager, so this lady gets straightened out

ForeverNerdable 1 year ago
I returned Mac Painterly because it gave me 'crepe eye'..looked so disgusting. The MUA told me I was obviously 'applying it incorrectly', like I was totally clueless. She wouldn't accept that it might not work on very dry skin. I asked for a refund or exchange and she kept me waiting forever, to refer me to her manager. After a lot of discussion they allowed me 'this time' to swop it for an eye liner. I will never shop at Mac again, ever.

I went to MAC for the first time today and the lady talked all quite and I was smiling and being polite and she talked in monotone and gave me a look. But normally at Sephora the people are sooo smart and nice.

MakeupByAprill 2 years ago

omg i'm sooo sorry she was so rude to you!! i worked for mac for 4 years so if you ever have any questions you can ask me any time!!!! she was probably new .. i hope!! and you should tell the manager .... we want customers to come back not get offended!!!
chapinachick111 2 years ago 35
It actually means alot that you responded to this and basically represented MAC (in my mind at leaste). I know that one person being rude repeatedly doesn't mean MAC as a whole doesn't teach their employees customer service...they just really need to work with this girl. Lol
and I did tell a manager, so I hope something was said to her & not just blown off.
MrsTank1030 2 years ago 11
I think she has a new job at Ulta in Oklahoma CIty. Rudest peron I have ever met, scary. The person that hired her needs to be more careful, there are children that go in that store. Scary Scary!

It is intimidating when people act like that the first time you go somewhere and are asking about their products...I hate it because MAC products are great but I don't even want to go to the store anymore because of her. I will just order online.
MrsTank1030 2 years ago
I can't deal with people like that. I am too nice though so I wouldn't have said anything to her but I would've just said no thank you and left. Or asked for another SA. You should definitely call her immediate supervisor there at the counter and also contact HQ somehow. (Since that's not the first encounter w/ her). Rude people suck.
You have sensitive skin, beware of anything w/ silicone (or a word ending in "cone"). I breakout bigtime w/ that. :P

I am too nice too. I didn't say anything at all to her, I think that was why I was so mad by the time I got home and had to say something on the video.
MrsTank1030 2 years ago
First off i'm so upset that your first meeting with her she was profiling. That is the worst thing you can do especially when you work in the customer service business. I know they should have like a number you can call to report. i really think if you have multiple issues with a particular person to report them. What awful experience. As for green concealer i think it's for redness not for dark circles but then i could be wrong. let us know how it turns out. Blessings.

gotta agree... just cause you WORK @ MAC don't mean nothing ... Do you know how many of get let go? SHEESH!

No, its kind of MAC in general.. I always end up going back and returning something because of false information, or they actually put things i didnt ask for in there. And green concealor is for redness.. what a rreetarrd.. aahaha
