nice to see those 6800 ultras on a system with a good cpu. most people wanna get the latest and greatest graphics cards when it wont make a big difference because they are held back on a slow cpu. used a 6600 on a athlon xp which was slow but when i chucked it into a pc with a athlon fx it was a whole different story. obviousley my 6600 wont play 2011 games but i managed to drag some years out of it.

I've got the purdy BFG 6800oc (the one with the funky little LED fans) in a box with an old AMD Clawhammer on a K8N-E deluxe. Man that system was the shit back in the day...still runs plenty of modern games (just not the crazy demanding ones) pretty well on lower settings.

back in 05 i got my 6800gt for $300, lol i found it today while building my friends pc, boy was it funny, well i didnt tell him but i tried the 6800gt on his pc.... he had core i7 920 and 6gb ram, paired with a 6800gt rofl!!!!!!!!!!!! lol i could play crysis 1280x1024 medium and get like 10-30fps! woot!!! lol i wish i had another to try sli then it would rock!! lol i should send him the 6800gt and keep his gtx 470, =)

there is something wrong with your computer, i used:

Intel e5200

6800gt

4gb ddr2

and i could play crysis medium 1024x768 and get average 20 fps

when i used my friends 6800gt and overclocked both i could play crysis medium/high 1152x864 and get average 25 fps maybe you should get more ram or overclock

Crysis might have problem running on single core CPU.. Crytek recommend to run on Dual or more core CPU..

6800gt...the best i ever had. I ran RE5 And COD5 at 40fps on this card. (mine is 512vram so the texture was similar to a ps3 texture...amazing. I thought this card was over but guess i was mistaken.

@cjit26 first of all the ps3 does not have a 7900gt plus 40%.... the 40% is already added to the gpu to equal a 7900gt... dont understand?? without the cell processor, the ps3 gpu is equal to a 7600gt 40% makes it 7900gt... hahaha anyways! even a 7900gt with 40% more is not a 8800gt rofl!

Geforce 6 and 7 cards do ok in most games with sli but crysis not good. I have even tried two 7900gs ko cards in this game not so good even with oc. Also I once a had a pair of 7600GSs in sli they did ok as well but same. At least gta iv didn't do any funny crap when I had those two sli rigs (sold the cards but kept every thing else).

message for nozic. its probably because of your cpu or you dont have your chipset drivers installed. this guy is running a core 2 so he is gettin the best performace out of it + the 6800gt is still a good card. i have a 6600 in my athlon xp system and crysis wont run on the lowest settings because of the processor but the same card my friend has on 4400 x2 and it can run it very well. i think the cpu is more important for games then the gpu because gpu settings are more flexible then the cpu's

I used to overclock it on 3.00 but that was ages ago. Do you think will it help now to re-overclock it on 3.0 ghz?

yeh it will help but only a little but i still think you should overclock it anyway and install your chipset drivers they make a difference. i overclocked my old athlon xp system to get rid of little stutters on hd videos. you can probably get one of the newer processors if your cpu socket is recent enough. my freind had a pentium 4 3ghz and upgraded to a intel core because his cpu socket was very new. he also upgraded to a hd2600 card and crysis runs on medium settings.
