  • -Second part of my post-

In my opinion, that's why anthropomorphic animals matter to us. Because its just another form of fiction, another escape. Sometimes all of us can just feel the weight of the world crushing us while we're nothing but boring, dull human beings. It's that urge to be something that we're not, and while people are playing games to be a hero of Skyrim, a super soldier, or reading a book of great heroes fighting to save the world . . . perhaps they're no different.

  • To me the word 'furry' is just another word for 'nerd'. No, seriously. Just take a good look at comments section, do you notice anything? Everyone here writes literate. And I mean, this is freakin' youtube, so seeing an entire comments page of well written opinions is almost logically impossible.

Joking aside, I'm not a furry because I feel like I'm really a Fox in a humans body, but because I just like the general concept of anthropomorphic races. Having the senses of an animal is awesome.

  • I was here to see the tailrulz art being showcased. But the dramatic scary music just killed it for me

  • Before I watch this, let me guess that it's mostly about sex.

  • They should take a look how furries build their world in Second Life : /

  • uhhh. its not necessarily like that, i think the belief is that they think that they were once the animal they picked for their fursona, like in a past life, sort of like native americans used to do. in a way their spirit animal

  • @MrDikfitzwell69 that's only the case for a few :3- most are just normal people who love showing off their art and characters that happen to be in-human.

  • @Hiccupby sorry, i forgot to mention that part, but there is such a thing as furry spirituality, we can all agree with that.

  • Okay... this documentary does not do furries justice. It makes furries look more weird than they are, i think they should have interviewed more furries than just the few in this video.

  • I personally prefer more realistic looking furs, though.

  • There isn't anything wrong with dressing up as something else and having a little fun.

  • Lol at the end they were caramel dancin!!

  • Feline Furry and Proud! :3

  • Has anyone point out that the one furry is Bebop from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. There all weird but atleast the other furries are original.

  • (^_^) I am a furry and I i am one all the time i don't hide it just visit my Facebook just search: kj4sqr

  • god

you people are taking the whole furry thing a little too far, don't you think? I mean, I've been in your position and all, but I knew a little something: it's lame to call yourself what you want to be represented as. I don't scream out "HEY GUIZ I'M A SQUIRREL" all over the tubes - I just look at the fandom as an alright collective of alright art and alright writings.

And even then, I find myself outgrowing so much of it.

  • is anyone else afraid of the cat suit when it turns toward you? As If thats probubly the last thing you see right before it goes ape shit starts to eat your inards.......or is it just me.....

  • The cat creeps the crap out of me!

  • thumbs up if you're a furry 4 life!

  • Fox Furry and proud :3

  • !!!HELL YEA FURRY RULE!!!

  • pft haters i love my fursona but.... i dont think he likes me too much

  • I like this episode so much thank God they represent furries all over the world i am glad of that.

  • And sometimes I wonder why I'm a misanthropist. I guess it can be more or less summarised in these 7minutes.

  • That's absoutely normal and fun ! We just love animals and like to dress like them ^-^ I'm a wolf and I'm really proud of it ! Go furries :3

  • "a secret alter ego.. a Massive Faggot"

  • Wow, I'm dissapointed in National Geographic for being this freaking biased and uninformed concerning the furry fandom. And why are people so shocked about the supposedly "errotic art"? it exists in EVERY FREAKING FANDOM. Have none of these people heard of rule 34?

  • @Hiccupby I TOTALY FREAKING AGREE! Besides, every fandom has its dark side

  • I'm really outgoing I love meeting new people and joking around. when I'm a fox I'm way more shy. I let others be the center of attention while I enjoy the ride. it's kind of like a break.

  • maybe hes messed up cause his father named him

    Courtney

  • Whats so wrong with being a furry? Its a way of being yourself and an individual

  • im afraid of masks and suits ect.

    idk why >.>

  • fursuiters are amazing.. but this guys a tad nuts....

  • "Furries think that they're animals." ... DUH! Humans -are- animals, we've just become a lot more advanced than other animals! My fursona is a fox, but I regard my fursona as completely separate from my actual, real, human self and as just a character. However, these so-called 'experts' see the furry fandom as a 'belief' because they can't explain it, so they run into the lamest of excuses to try justify the fandom when they actually have no idea at all!

  • of course they would pick tailzy for the negative side of this

  • If I saw someone with a suit like that all the time..and it was a guy..It'd think it was a rapist to be honest. lol

  • Okay, if you want US to be honest with you, YOU be less critical with us.

  • I think its fine but they should have got people who are a little more furry friendly insted of people who say we're weird

  • 6:25-6:30 Random guy putting on a balaclava? WTF???? Well, that's media brainwashing for you...

  • Good video. Got the point across well.

  • GOD BLESS AMERICA, LONG LIVE THE QUEEN, AND GOD BLESS FURRIES

  • @Agamashi go to hell

  • @Agamashi fuck u faggot педерас нещастен

  • @Agamashi Obviously a troll. XD

  • @lPsyckl Actually no, Furries = Sickest thing i've ever heard of, and ask the same thing with EVERYONE in my school for example

  • @Agamashi Yup, you're a troll.

  • @Agamashi (8) Trollin', trollin', trollin', keep those comments going, TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN', RAWHIIIIIIIIIIIDE! (8) It's freaking obvious. XD

  • After watching taboo - sex swap... Furry is not that bad at all.

  • i want a fursuit of my fursona and went to the university in it xD

  • A blue cat?!? This is why I can not stand furries. They ignore a non-human animnal's biology. They should do some research first.

  • @1StoryImageFigure1 They also don't walk around on 2 feet, and your point is....?

  • @mrqsandas Sarcasm.

  • @1StoryImageFigure1 My mistake. I've just been dealing with a lot of trolls lately. XD Still, it's better to point out sarcasm so people don't get the opposite message =P

  • Every person in this world has a child inside theres no exeption!!!!

Why many people say that we do wied thing with yiff, yiff is only art nothing beyond that (well there some exeptions) but theres no dark side on it its just fun and hangout with friends and have a good time with other people that like Furries, Fursuits, art, etc.

  • dude, that was the best they could do!?!? Seriously, somebody needs to write to them and have them go to this years AnthroCon. The episode only reviewed Fursuiters! not everyone has suits!

  • @annoyanceking i expected better from nat geo too :c

  • awesome hehe FURRIES RULE!!!!!

  • Is that Bebop? :P

  • If it weren't for this show, I wouldn't be Lunas, the dragon wolf hybrid that I am today. This show has made my life better. In 2 weeks I'm going to furry fiesta to finally meet some new furs :D

  • @Wannabewolf232 Sweet, I'll be there too! look for the tiny guy with tons of tattoos and a corvette collar! Hope ya have fun!

  • @RealStarHusky If I see you I'll be sure to say hi and meet ya and stuff :D I'll be wearing a black collar with pink paws and with a tag on it that's a paw print. :D I can't wait to meet you!

  • This is not a new trend. Has been in almost if not every culture, the native americans dressed out as animals cause they belived they either was born with a animal spirit or to get the power skill and wisdom of the animal.Im not fury haha and will never be so.But does that mean it not ok other ppl is?. foxsarecooltoo btw. who is judging?-Furries is really nicer than most ppl?

  • Awwwww.

  • holy shit Felicia! XD

  • Ohmyfuckinggod.

And people like them ruin every fandom on earth.

These people are stupid, and not every furry is as stupid as they are :/

  • Things I lold at.

    "farries"

Odd I normally laugh at more than one thing...

  • Humans....ARE animals. What part of that do people not get?!

  • @CanisCaeleste The people who consider humans to be in the image of god, exclusively have souls, or are otherwise better then every other animal. Those are the people who don't get that.

  • @CanisCaeleste Absolutely true, the lost of fur on us, doesn't mean we stopped being animals, we're animals witha concious, a culture and stuff, but still have an animal part

  • @Gato303co No, not just an animal part. We are 100% animals.

  • @CanisCaeleste Thank you! I always have to tell my Science teacher we ARE animals, just because we are advanced doesn't mean anything.

  • being a furry for me is both a lfestyle and a fandom i know cause i am one

  • Comment removed

  • caramelldansen at the end :D

  • HEY ERIC NICE YIFF POSTER XD

  • And i dont think im an animal clearly.

  • the dudes a fag

  • Wait... that one has ganja leaves for hair...

    That's fucking awesome.

  • I'm not even a fan of furries but the way those people acted...was so cute! It's weird yes but it's nice to see people come out of their shells to be who they are.

  • slightly erotic furry art=all furies have a "dark side"...

    so...

human p0rn= all humans have a "dark side"??

  • "Furries believe they are part human, part animal."

    Stopped watching right there.

  • i love furries i wouldnt become one BOOM next thing you know i become one you never know i might just become one never know

  • Who made the art at 6:06? Not tailsrulz but the other ones.

  • @axelfox980 Thank's! For some reason your comment did not show in my inbox...

  • @lhbeau1

    Your Welcome.

  • @lhbeau1 Tanidareal?

  • Dr. Sudeepta, what a fox. (And not in a bestiality kind of way)

  • 6:25 Jolteon!!!!!

  • I have nothing against furries. I used to think it was strictly a fetish, but it primary just fun. Like larping or paintball. I don't get why people would be like really against it even if it were strictly sexual. If it was I would say "so what". There is pretty much a kink for everything and if you want to be ashamed of who you are than you will be miserable for the rest of your life. The furries have taught me to enjoy life how you see fit as long as you don't hurt anyone else.

  • Comment removed

  • Nutters

  • Do people actually consider these furries as freaks? There are almost 7 billion people in the world now, we have people that are furries, people who eat shit for a living, people who self amputate......we see this crap all the time nowadays, nothing should surprise anyone

  • @LowTegra you will be surprised at how many times i have been called a freak for being a furry. I was at an anime con just over the weekend and some guy said he wanted to punch me for being a furry. I was not even dressed up. But i just giggled rolled my eyes and walked away. :/

  • @amyloveyou87 People need to lighten up....child molesters and rapists are freaks, everything else is just another shade of the world

  • Comment removed

  • @axelfox980 I didn't say we should try to change others, I said everyone is a shade of the world, and that child molesters and rapists are the freaks. If it doesn't hurt other people, then whats the problem with it? Let furries be furries

  • Comment removed

  • finnaly a show that dosnt totally portray us as "freaks"

  • It's...it's just...it's a fandom, people. We don't need to be psychoanalyzed, we're not pedophiles or something like...really?

I mean, even lifestylers, it's really NOT that odd at all. Maybe I'm biased because I'm a furry but seriously...they sort of over exaggerated. And honestly when they were in the forest that looked like SO MUCH FUN, and they were SO happy. So maybe there should be an special/episode/whatever psychoanalyzing boring, lifeless, depressed, mundane people instead, lol.

  • 3:05 GLOMP!!! ^^

Not perfect, but one of the better views of furries.

As they said, "We're just a fandom"

  • However it is presented, it will never be good / fair / balanced enough for some. And I say that as a fursuiter myself.

  • Rep your fandom!

  • virgins

  • @mikesomething they might have awkward nerd sex XP

  • asses out there who say "OMG FURRY FREAKS" ,or something like that, I bet you wouldn't say "OMG NASTY NIGGERS" (sorry my black friends I'm just making a point, I'm not racist) the point is if we don't mess with you, what's it hurting for us to do this, furries are really nicer than most people because we accept everyone for who they are and we don't judge you.

  • @foxesarecooltoo I am so happy I'm not the only one who makes this connection.

  • @foxesarecooltoo

    yiff in hell fur fag

  • @michiyoyoshiku fuck in hell human scum oh sorry, just talking about the human race like you talk about the furry sub culture

  • @KaisyuVadin

Your logic makes no sense since you are a human and thus are self lothing...fur fag

  • Comment removed

  • I went batshit fucking insane when I found out about this segment, I used to think nat geo gave me facts but they go straight to the extreme lifestylers, yes Nuka wears his fursuit every weekend, but most of us who have fursuits don't. I own a fursuit and I dont wear it every weekend and I'm a lifestyler I just wish they would educate themselves more, the only part I agree with is the "they dress up to express themselves in ways they normally can't when they're out of suit.

    And for all you asse

  • @xXBumblebeeGirl13Xx So we (furries) make your ass hurt? Huh. Haven't heard that one before.

  • @Bonedog14 Logic. Comprehension. You're doing it wrong.

  • @xXBumblebeeGirl13Xx

Your posts still make no sense.

  • @Bonedog14 You must be new here. I was commenting on the amount of furries whining about how they weren't portrayed correctly in this documentary. Got that?

  • BUTTHURT FURRIES EVERYWHERE.

  • Nah, I don't think we should be classed as wrong. A lot of media represents us incorrectly.

  • Myself being a female furry and fursuiter I find this entertaining to watch, and a little bit misinformed. The reason why most furries that have fursuits have them is to make their fursona (furry persona) "come to life" not to become an animal. Also, we know we are human, but some of us do have slight animalistic traits. Most people don't understand that EVERYTHING has a darkside, for us furries it's "yiff", so stop judging us!!

Furry is not a fetish/hobby..It is a lifestyle!!

  • is it just me or does every documentery on furries i see on tv either only show the "bad" stuff or the wrong impressions like yiff (which is perfectly okay with me) or they give the wrong facts. furries are just ppl who want to have fun their own way, i dont see how this is any way taboo. its shows like these why some furries cant come out and be themselves.

  • @thechosenox2

It's not just you, the shows I've seen portray furries as sex-crazed men who go and have sex in fursuits

    There are female furs.

  • @Bonedog14 EXACTLY! "furries usually hide themselves from others" (or somthing like that from this vid) well this might be one of the reasons those documenteretards

  • @Bonedog14 *another realization* the first annotion in this vid tells furries to sub... YEAAAAAAAAAAAH *sarcasn* were toootally gonaa sub after you call us Taboo

  • HOLY FUCKING SHIT

    HOLY FUCKING SHIT

    HOLY FUCKING SHIT can't sleep.

  • lol what a bunch of manga faggots

  • HOLY SHIT google needs to work on that closed captioning turn it on and use transcribe audio beta and it gets only 1/4 of the words right its hilarious. Reply with the funniest thing yours said.

  • @kartracer58 ben-elissar wetsuits technically they can be friends with you WTF got that at 4:24

  • he has the collar i just ordered

  • what the fuck is it with furries and bowling i mean seriously

  • @bxxks It's just what makes people feel better about themselves.

It is what makes them feel more alive.

If you see one, don't bother trying to make fun of it.

  • @XeroOwnz way to miss the point broski. i was talking about how my strange addiction sowed furries bowling, and there's also the notorious furries vs kingons bowling tournament. nice job being sj as fuck you vigilante

  • I think that fandom weird. Not one of my interest.

  • @XSEAN115 It is wierd. Lots of things are wierd. Hugs are wierd, they make no sense. Giving someone the middle finger is wierd and illogical. Hate is also illogical. But just because it's wierd doesn't make it wrong or bad in any way, just different. :)

  • Ugh, furries.

  • @crazywelshkid Ugh, Complainers.

  • I'd say to the people that think all furries are Furfags,

Rewatch the video, until it bleeds into your mind , that you understand our pain and what we have to go through., and the reason we are Furries.

  • Awwww the nose pokey part was so cute!

  • WTF.

  • lmao I know this guy! he's been my TA for psych courses at least 4 times. Pretty chill, actually.

  • Furfags are disgusting

  • wtf is this..I don't even...

  • Nuka came to speak to my Sociology class!

  • everything obeys rules 34 and 35.

  • @samiuseliina dont forget rule 39 directly relates.

  • furry is a fetish for some people which then brings in the "DARK SIDE" MUAHAHAHA

  • There are definitely more than one million furries in the world. xD

  • If they don't know what they are talking about, it would have been better for them to not even make this episode. Because in the end, I got out of this show that furries are just a bunch of social outcasts, which is definitely a MISTAKEN PERCEPTION!

  • @BankaiIchigo12345 in the view of the average person they are outcast because they know little or nothing about furries and it is kind of strange. But yes they could have done this episode a little bit differently to make it sound like is an alright thing to do. They defiantly could have at least touched on that not all furries are fursuiters, well as to some say, like me. But you do have to admit they did describe the fandom so-so. They also shouldn't have ended it with the Yiffing references

  • @kartracer58

Which is exactly why Natgeo should NOT talk about them as, or treat them as, outcasts! It doesn't help them feel any more comfortable about who they are. For trying to say something good about them, Natgeo did the VERY OPPOSITE!

  • @BankaiIchigo12345 keep in mind there are always going to be the mainstream social group that will know nothing of this or at least seen anything like a video about furries or have seen one in real life. Until furries become extreamly well known than they are going to be considered "weird". You have to look at the outside in, in the eyes of Joe smo. P.S. you were cool about this unlike some assholes are and i thank you for that.

  • @BankaiIchigo12345 just remembered that they have to try and mesh common belief with the truth so that they can have high ratings its a business thing people went from compassionate human beings to stingy money grabbing bastards.(they do want to bring education but with large amounts of money) look at Delta they were focused on the passenger but now they rob you of your money and dont care about you. Its like tyra banks they werent going to just say they do it for fun it would be bad for ratings

  • @kartracer58

I didn't hear about yiffing, but at the end I did see some freaking awesome furry anime-style art. And as an anime fan myself, I was like WOW AWESOME. I especially liked the fact the guy did a fan art of the Digimon character Renamon! How cool is that!

  • @BankaiIchigo12345 well you can connect it to yiffing but they did not directly talk about it and that was amazing art.

  • @kartracer58

Yeah most of that imagery show I didn't even consider porn, it was just art.

And that also is for good reason. They couldn't have shown actual porn images on NatGeo, even if they wanted to. It's a regular cable channel. Only "premium" cable channels can have porn, as the FCC rules about porn extend to regular cable channels (not just over-the-air TV as many people mistakenly believe). Only "premium" cable channels are actually beyond the jurisdiction of the FCC.

  • @BankaiIchigo12345 the artists name is Mark Thompson. he goes as tailsrulz. you might wanna check out more of his work

  • @BankaiIchigo12345 I agree with this; that is a mistaken impression. But it (the segment) is Still definately better then alot of other media shock-docs that I've seen about furries, so by comparison, it's a step in the right direction. Have enough steps in the right direction, and you end up in a good place :)

  • @noxluna1

I would have thought that a professional company NatGeo who's job it is to be a "fact conveyor" (convey factual info for the sake of conveying factual info) would have done a better job than this, as the whole purpose of their channel IS to educate and that means NOT TWISTING FACTS, and JUST REPORT THE FACTS. I always thought that what I saw on the educational channels were "pure info", no opinions, no "spin". But this show has shown that NatGeo can NOT be trusted.

  • @BankaiIchigo12345 It was my understanding that they did report facts, they didn't lie. They just didn't report ALL of the facts.

BTW no documentary can be trusted to have all of the exact facts unless it is done BY furries themselves.

  • I don't like what Natgeo did because while they did try to somewhat make furries more acceptable, they also trumpetted factually incorrect statements about them. Statements which are based on false steriotypes that are in fact usually used by furry haters! This can do more harm furry community than any of the positive statements they made would do good for furries.

  • Yes some of them sometimes dress up in animal costume, but they don't all the time, and some may never or rarely dress up in animal costume. Wanting sex with an animal is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT! That's bestiality. Also wanting sex with a person in animal costume is not normal furry tendency (more like furry extremest or something). I have nothing against furries, even though I'm not a furry myself.

  • The definition of furry is NOT a person who wants to do a horse while dressed in a cat costume! Nor is it always even someone who dresses up as an animal. Nor is it someone who wants to do someone who's dressed as an animal. Nor is it someone who thinks that they are part animal or wishes that they were born as animal.

A furry is someone who has a special liking of animals and often makes artwork depicting animals (sometimes anthropomorphic and/or cartoony, sometimes realistic style).

  • @BankaiIchigo12345 That is true. However, being a furry and those other things that you mentioned (wanting to be an animal, or dressing like one, etc) are Not mutually exclusive. A furry can also have some or all of the other things that you mentioned, even a sexual attraction to animals. In that regard, it is a very subjective thing. But it is also wrong to assume that ALL furries do/believe those things. Each furry is different, and the term "Furry" is very much an umbrella.

  • Glad they didn't cover anime fandom or they probably would have said that anime fans belived that they were anime characters trapped in a normal human body. Natgeo is DUMB!
