  • @FredtheAsian Just bought the BlackBerry Playbook (32) too at BestBuy (online) for 250$ Can... can't wait to have it in my hands...

  • @danmqc its amazing! But i felt kinda bad after feeling i forced it a lil bit too much to get it into the case. Oh well its one of the most resistant shit on the market! Def worth the buy man! :)

  • Ipad is still the best

  • @Milad010180 nope because its doesnt has flash

  • Interviewer is hot.

  • @williamsj16 low standards

  • @UKnoWhatISell Yup!

  • @ 0:14 he says "it's about 10mm thick, so a little smaller than á cm" WHAT? 10mm is exactly 1cm.

  • @yole456789 he said ABOUT 10mm so a little less then a cm, attention to detail is crucial, stop freaking out cause your ears don't work

  • Shit !! I spend almost $1000 for the ipad 2..

i wish i should have bought this tablet instead :(

  • is it support sim card?????

  • nice one

  • Does wi-fi work without a data plan?

  • @MooseheadDrinker Yes if you have wireless internet at home or at a coffee shop.

  • imagine if they had android on that beautiful thing :D...

  • Comment removed

  • @AX51471 I couldn't find anything about Playbook using Android Honeycomb anywhere.

did you mean Android's apps emulator (android player)?

    could you please elaborate?

  • what music files is it? mp3 or mp4?

  • @zerochris Both.

  • would have bought this over the ipad of their were more apps. love this thing

  • BlackBerry PlayBook -- Why?

    Why Not?

  • playbook took some swipe from bezel & fling to quit ideas from webOS, to bad that webOS cant make it in the phone market & wont sue for i.p. copying. playbook is definitely better than ipad 1,2 & 3 *dont ask i just know* i wonder how it stands against honeycomb, it looks like a good vs review.

  • Best tablet!

  • Love mine, got it free from playbookforfree.co.uk all I had to do was sign up and do an offer from a well known company then get others to do the same it's very easy

  • Sexy voice

  • iPad 2 FTW!

  • I actuially was thinking of getting one then i was wandering about USB ports and headphone microphone jacks? anyone know if this has any? thanks.

  • what is it's cost in india??

  • can we do cam to cam while chatting with this playbook?

  • @FwiizzHD

no it shouldnt and since we think its on different corners its probably our imaginations.

    written from my playbook

  • @FwiizzHD

Upper right hand corner right? Just a smiggin peaked

  • Having played with it compared to other tablets (motorola xoom, Ipad) it IS defenitley a superior experience, but RIM needs to keep pushing those software updates to show off what it can really do.

  • You guys know most of the recalled playbooks were not even sold yet?

  • @FwiizzHD look the serial number of your device search the list of them being recalled. I highly doubt that it's one that is recalled because they are mainly recalled cuz of buggs. You should just return the playbook to the store if your garantee hasn't ran out yet.

  • @FwiizzHD about 1000 blackberry playbooks have been recalled in the world, I'm not sure why but you should check if yours has been recalled. If not i suggest returning it to the store you bought it from for a new one. I don't think this is normal.

  • Worst cameraman ever?

  • Does the Playbook have bbm, thanks please reply

  • @manzwatik install bb bridge on ur bb pair it with ur PB configure.....and violaaaa there will be a seperate catogery added to ur PB where u can bbm, manage ur calander check ur emails etc......browse on PB using ur bb internet plan(tethering) while it is connected thru bluetooth.

  • oh and as far as contacting their free 90-day tech support, forget it. the agent i spoke on the phone with looked like she was just trained over the weekend. No im not an Apple fan boy or a RIM fan boy just telling you the truth.

  • hi i just bought the blackberry playbook

Pros: great web browisng experience (although sometimes I wish it was on a bigger screen, nice speakers, camera for vids and pics, and teh fact taht you can view you emails and email attachments if you bridge it to your blackberry smartphone.

I personnally dont use apps (even on my iphone) so yes, the playbook's selection is very limited, but i ill just go online to check out the website - it doesnt bother me.

  • 10mm is excactly 1cm...not smaller than. Dumbass.

  • Thrill, you never used the playbook, your just saying that to make the iPad in your opinion better

  • The desktop is very glitchy. You can still pair it with your desktop and use it as a network drive to swap files but you have to use a work around because the software stinks. The app store has almost nothing in it. I went through the entire store and plucked out a few useful applications in an hour. The power button on it is a pain in the ass. I have money to burn so I just bought it for kicks but if I had to choose between my PB and an iPad I would definitely choose the iPad.

  • I have one. Bought it a few days ago. It's alright but, regardless of what BB fanboys try to convince you of, it has nothing on the iPad. It's a neat little toy but it's kind of pointless really. For starters, the screen on it is barely bigger than my HTC HD7 phone yet it obviously isn't nearly as portable so those who claim portability as the reason to own one really aren't making any sense. It's light but it's heavy for it's size. Barely lighter than an iPad but half the size.

  • @Thrillcekr

the only valid point you make is that for now it is a neat little toy but it is going to be the best thing until the galaxy tab 7" get some handsome packaging. 7" is the most practical with people who are on the go, im an engineer so need a free hand, the i pad is for the couch, and IS a toy and always will be, the playbook will be used to show the boss in AZ the new unit on the building with one hand and pointing out the details with the other

  • @SuperGrissom Unlikely. If what you were saying were truly the case one wouldn't even bother with a Playbook. You can do exactly what you said with a decent smart phone. It's not practical for making documents because you have to type with your thumbs. It isn't of any use to the creative class because the screen is far too small to do any sort of design work whatsoever.

  • @Thrillcekr you are right that a smartphone could do the job as i do use my iPod to do ALOT, and my blackberry does stay in its leather holster, the real estate of the 7" screen comes in handy when i simply want a bigger screen plain and simple. thumb typing is very possible, in fact reply to your replies with my PB.....the reason for the lower case i's...my PB and my Galaxy tab BOTH live in my inside jacket pocket at the same time. I cant get 1 iPad in there, well maybe i could.

  • @SuperGrissom Say what you like but apparently the world disagrees with you. Sales for the Playbook have been extremely underwhelming and haven't even come close to what RIM was hoping for. Meanwhie, stores still can't keep the iPad in stock. No one is writing apps for PB. For the first few weeks I had mine I'd see a handful of new ones everyday and that's alright gone down to a couple a week.

  • @Thrillcekr stores cant keep iPads in stock because of the spotlight on the Foxcom factory deaths........

  • @SuperGrissom You might not have figured it out but apparently RIM already has. Just a few days ago I saw where they stated they are making plans for a 10 inch tablet. A wise move but maybe one that's gonna be too little too late. I've already seen a number or iPads being used in corporate settings and factories alike. I've yet to see a single Playbook.

  • @Thrillcekr i agree with you on most points for now, i have been shunned on BB forum, and have encountered the head in the sand routine from people who post who are in blind obedience to the "name" Blackberry, not caring that the product may be an actual dismal product. Which I think the PB is. But to argue that a 10" tablet from any maker is more than a couch/bedroom accessory is not realistic. Apple does bring the heat, and I am thinking about an iPad 3, and a macbook.

  • @SuperGrissom I'll tell you exactly what this smells like to me. Perhaps you remember the mad dash a few years ago when everyone had an iPod killer. Where are all these products now? They're DEAD! The Zune was the last to fall. Actually, the Zune was a great device but it was too little too late. The problem is that companies sometimes have good ideas but they have no clear plan. Apple seems to be very tuned in and deliberate in it's moves and where they want to go with their ideas.

  • Being a business man constantly out of town, in meetings, on planes...i love this new tablet! Small, lightweight, bigger RAM, so many other features I am too lazy to list! Thank you BB for this new innovation! Cant wait for that 4G.

  • This looks like a nice solid device. I like all the features on it such as the full HD cameras on the front and back. The quality is outstanding especially for a tablet. But i want a bigger screen. Which means i will most likely be getting the ipad 2. I will be getting the "Wi-Fi" version only. 16gb. I might as well get the bigger tablet, for the exact same pice. Im not a blackberry fanboy, nor am i an apple fanboy. Im just getting what would be better for me.

  • is the touch screen crappy cus i have a torch and an iphone 3gs and i would say the screen on the iphone is better but i prefer my torch like way more and now i want the play book cus it looks so awesome!!

  • Don't and I repeat do not listen to the negative reviews..I went to best buy they have a few test models and trust me when I say this...the playbook is fucking awesome before you make your judgement go and test it out...the power button wasn't a problem for me the QNX OS is smooth and the flash plays like a dream..I say go to best buy and test it.

  • You can use your BlackBerry as a modem?.. SOLD!

  • @Shernee01 every other tablet can do the same with any phone than can do wifi hotspot.

  • Do people consider a Keyboard and Buttons obsolete?

  • 10mm=1cm....not ABOUT 1cm

  • Is the playbook going to have a stand alone bbm? Or you have to pair it wi your bb in order to use it? I Pre ordered one already just curious,

  • @ChoonkyMoonky From what we understand, WiFi only PlayBook's will not have their own PIN, however when 3G/4G versions come out which have their own carrer network connectivity, those devices will have a PIN, and will have BBM. Again, we haven't gotten hands on one for ourselves, so we don't know entirely.

  • It so great because it's thicker than an iPad2, has 40% of the iPad2 and HP Book screen real estate, even less compared to XOOM, no news on battery or price. Dual core like... everybody else these days. No delivery date. From the few who tested it the night before the iPad launch, it apparently heats like hell... which means it's using battery power to produce heat. By the time it comes out I question how impressive the specs will look.

  • @DaveFrMTL Don't be mad because you realized that you waisted money on the ipad

  • @jjgibson2000 lol!!!!!!

  • @jjgibson2000 That's far from being the truth. I have an iPad2, Playbook, and HP Touchpad. The iPad2 is by the the best tablet on the market. I love my Playbook but there's a couple of issues that make it less than desirable. One being the mystery wifi issues where it suddenly decides it doesn't want to connect to your home network. There's been a lot of complaints about it and RIM hasn't fixed it. The other big issue is that there are very few apps in the store and even fewer good ones.

  • @jjgibson2000 On the positive side. I love the feel of it in my hands. I like to wear cargo pants with big sidepockets so when I go out for a couple of beers with my friends if we're going to someplace that has free wifi I can easily slide it into my pants pocket and take it with me. The idea behind the product is great and RIM did a lot of things well but there's still a lot left to be desired. With that being said, it may not be an iPad but it's FAR better than any Android tablet I've seen

  • @DaveFrMTL First off it is thicker because it has 1 gig of on board ram while the ipad has 256mb of ram (signifcainly less) it is also thicker due to its more powerful graphics and sound cards. Yes it has an expected price of $550. The few who tested it tested it in extreme alpha version. Also saying "it uses battery power to produce heat" is explaining how a battery works. iphone 4's have the same issue where the back gets hot due to the battery being a battery.....

  • @INSAN3LUIS - I thought about this briefly when I heard it as well but what he said was 'it's ABOUT 10mm thick' so I gather from his comment that it is just shy of 10mm which WOULD be just under 1cm as you note.

  • wondering if there will be a 3.5mm jack

  • @deryck999 Yes it does have a 3.5 mm jack, I wonder if it will be able to read standard usb flash drives. The apple Ipad can't

  • Lol, she made him really uncomfortable

  • @jjgibson2000 Huh?

  • can it take HD pictures?

  • @erickr1980 Yes...it has two HD cameras both front and rear. It can also shoot hd videos

  • @charieshane everyone is different. For me the 7 inch is actually one of the best features. I think people who take the iPads to meetings look like complete dorks. The pad isn't much smaller than a laptop and has much less functionality. With this a sideways flip and I can thumb type just like on a BB. I will carry it, an iPad no.

  • @kidd01801 "isn't much smaller than a laptop" an Ipad is smaller and lighter than a netbook...nevermind a "LAPTOP"...and the playbook isn't much bigger than a phone...so take your pick...its pretty subjective...

  • @kidd01801 i agree with you my brother girlfriend has an ipad and i barrowed it for a day i had a small backpack the ones with the strings and you pull together at the top and i used it on the bus and walking around and i felt that it was just a little to big and a little heavy interface was boring and camera sucked big big big time if im gonna face time or even take pictures i need a cmamera that is good and i take a lot of videos and flash is huge for me so playbook is perfect

  • @kidd01801 At last. I have been making this point to so many people, but they jys don't get it. There is no universal good size or bad size. Depends on what you need out of your device.

  • @kidd01801 In certain situations it's small size is an attribute. However, if you're actually using this to hammer out a document with your thumbs at a meeting it is YOU that looks like a dork. The iPad is far better suited for document creation and has much better applications for doing so. The Playbook is handy during scenarios like I mentioned above. If you're just going out for a social gathering it will fit right in your pants or jacket pocket and not hog up room at the table.

  • @Thrillcekr ahem*... voice recorder. Voice to note taker.

  • @Kuruptd4life BFD. All tablets have that capability and really a tablet of any kind for that purpose is overkill. Loads of voice recording software out there for every smartphone on the market.

  • she's hot

  • Yah this things is really cool, but they lost me at 7in, it's making me angry how all these great new tablets are 7in, how are you supposed to have a pc like internet browsing experience like they claim on such a small screen?

  • @Jimbol8472 rofl its portable dummy! get a desktop if u want immersion

  • @Jimbol8472 It's actually only one of 4...the others are the Tab, Asus EeePad, and Dell Streak 7. Everything else is 10"

  • Lol "portable and big" sounds like an oxy-moron if I ever heard one. Maybe all of the tablets coming out are smart for making the screens 7 inches and apple is looking stupid with their big ass movie theatre screen-sized tablet.

  • Apple users GOTTA be getting nervous now. This is truely the first PROFESSIONAL tablet.

  • @spliffgame Apple users don't care about what they are buying as long as it has a shiny apple logo on it so they can show it off to all their friends.

  • 10mm is smaller than 1cm - Wow - You learn something new everyday!

  • @gbsampler

    LOLLLLLLLLLLLLL .........

  • awww yeah!

  • Also, I prefer the iPad. I know the iPad isn't all that, but the size is perfect. No other competitors are making tablets of the same size, they are focusing on 7inch tablets. I prefer the iPad's size, it is portable and big

  • @avanty123piw Motorola Xoom has a bigger screen size than iPad. Don't listen to everything Steve Jobs when he was trashing all 7 inch tablets and calling them DOA. Don't be a lemming. iPad is hardly more portable than this PlayBook.

  • @sweetepnoy yeah i know.. im no apple fan boy lol.. i just want a tablet, that is bigger than this.. i mean, this is portable, sure, but thats not what i want, i got my phone that is portable.. i want something that is big enough for me to enjoy full sized videos, a full sized keyboard on.. iPad sucks, granted.. but its the perfect size for me compared to this

  • @avanty123piw get a laptop then

  • The only decent thing blackberry have made..

  • Kugi mobile browser i like my iPad O.o but i'm jail breaking and getting flash :)

  • Wish BlackBerry made the black bezel thiner. Looks huge for such a small screen.

  • @clariceave

the bezel is used as a button
