  • OK you Tea Party freaks there's a simple way to pay no taxes. Lets end the USA. I think that's what you lot really want. Be carefull what you wish for.

  • "Airbreathers kicked out of Capitol During Tax Debate"

    haha.

    !!?#? who /doesnt/ pay taxes???

(im sure some of you would shout 'illegal immigrants" >_>)

-instead: 'some people who were being unruly got kicked out of a governmental function because they were acting like gradeschoolers'..?

You guys get played like pawns to the upper class of america, don't you see that these spending cuts affect the vast majority of average americans, and the tax breaks are extended to the very few (and rich?

  • This Dub IA Polititian I grew up with. As kids we hung out at the same Park (Allison Henderson) and played Baseball/Softball and "Capture the Flag". I wrote this individual twice now about the insane, pathetic, racketeering activity by Dubuque County, Adelmann and others but I get no response ? This person is definitely heavily involved against me and for monetary gain. This polititian attends the same "church" that a few whom are obsessed at maliciously destroying me (ex girlfriend) with FBI.

  • Taxing income is unjust, period. It turns governments into tyrants and citizens into slaves. The very idea should get politicians shot.

  • apparently freedom of speech is irrelevant when the speech doesn't conform to the liberal agenda.

  • interesting. No easy answers.

    Cut spending - try that.

  • Hmm, throwing out the people he is supposed to represent......

  • Oh wow, Iowians, we will say a prayer for you all while you fight to remove that elitist from his seat.

  • Well, it seems that the Nazi, I am sorry, democrat party is alive and well in Iowa!

  • It is NOT Murphy's house it is our house! Bought and paid for by us the taxpayers. Murphy needs to remember that......

Iowans will be paying more in taxes, I don't care what Murphy and his friends say. I will leave the state.

  • Wow, that is crazy, if that is happening in Iowa imagine the rest of the country!

  • Notice how the taxpayers position are represented as "protestors".. If they were on the other side would they be considered "protestors"?

It's becoming increasingly clear that protest is becoming illegal in the USA.

  • Great Oxymorons

There's no fighting in a War Room!

No public allowed in a public meeting!

  • TEA PARTY 09!!

    April 15.

  • Just keep pissing us off and there wont be enough Highway patrol man to get your pompous asses out of a major jam. REVOLT!!!

  • OMG....they are TAXPAYERS....NOT demonstrators.

  • NWO. Sheesh.

  • What to hell is going on in Iowa??????????

  • Comment removed

  • I guess here we go NWO. Sheesh.

  • Given that the chances were good that they would be thrown out those against the tax should have brought tea bags with the words "NO MORE TAXES" written on them. Then toss the tea bags into the well. This would have made it worth their while to show up.

  • When they start kicking ass that is rowdy. This was exercising freedom of speech. Iowa has gone to hell the last few yrs. Not the way midwestern values are meant to be.

  • Comment removed

  • This is an outrage! I think it's time to throw their asses out, for good. I'm not talking about waiting, I talking about right now!

  • It's great to see Americans rallying in opposition to un-American economic policies - shame on Pat Murphy for his thuggish conduct

  • Typical Socialist reaction..toss them out when they disagree with you.

    I agree with you Bassfooler!!

  • I have lost all respect for Iowa , Passing Gay marriages , California couldnt pass it be Iowa can , What A crock .

  • People, STOP voting for Democrats.....And that is final.

  • It didn't look "out of control" to me, like that news-chick said.

Liberals are control freaks who try to silence anyone that doesn't agree with them.

  • The video refers to those people as "demonstrators" ...how dare they call these taxpayers-"dmonstrators".

We are MAD AS HELL, and WE ARE NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!

Tax Day Tea Party April 14, 2009....Go to the website taxdayteaparty(dot)com and click on your state's name for locations and time....each may vary. Take our country back, one representative at a time...Vote them out!

  • Rats and cockroaches like to do their dirty deeds in the dark....in secret.

  • It's hard to back stab people if they are facing you, which is why they were thrown out, plain and simple.

  • At a hearing people are free to stand up and express their opinions. That freedom is protected and is called freedom of speech. But is a hearing the appropriate place to exercise the freedom to assemble (right to protest) as in this case? I'm under the impression that hearings are accorded rules that allow free, orderly speech. Whereas protests, which are by nature loud and dynamic, would be at odds with such rules. Am I wrong? Or is this direction we want all hearings in our land to go?

  • Comment removed

  • Its time to stand up to the Government!!

  • Thank you all for the comments and support from out of state folks. We will continue to fight these tax increases. As everyone was being escorted out of the galleries I remember hearing someone yell "THE TENENTS ARE KICKING THE LANDLORD OUT OF THE PEOPLES HOUSE!" and they couldn't have said it any better...

  • Are you serious?

Have you ever watched English politics?

Landlords? No we are the Boss, last time I checked the guy signing my paycheck pretty much says what he wants when he wants and as loud as he wants.

Can't do their jobs? They can't do their flip'n job as it is.

  • Comment removed

  • Just for the record--This was a PUBLIC hearing (The intent of which is to listen to the public's opinion)....The crowd NEVER interrupted the speakers!....They merely showed their approval or disapproval AFTER each speaker finished!

...I LISTENED TO THE ENTIRE BROADCAST LIVE on the internet...The media called them "protesters"(merely repeating what the house chairman called them)...They were NOT!..They were simply pissed off citizens who are tired of getting screwed by the government...

  • If thats true, then yes, this is a problem... IF they didn't offend the rules of the House, they should not have been ejected.

However, I'm just naturally skeptical of large loud groups. People who protest are usually one-sided... but as I said, if you're right, then we may have a problem here I didn't expect.

  • The leftist definition of "public hearing" is that you listen and hear them only...

  • Democrats gather to raise these poor peoples taxes, and they sit there and protest it with anger as most would, then the dems ask the tax payers to be removed from the building so they can raise your taxes in private..Wonder goverment system we have set up here, it's working great isnt it?

  • I'm constantly amazed at how Americans - once born from a glorious tax rebellion - have been dumbed down over decades to overtaxed peasants.

But a clue lies in the well-groomed corporate presstitutes, like the ones featured here for channel 8.

  • Bravo Iowa. Keep the pressure on. Tell us in the other 49 what we can do to help. This is bs. This is something that we have to look forward to in GA too. How the hell are we supposed to live? Tea Party anyone?

  • We are winging it here as everywhere else in this country. I guess we never thought this kind of disguised fascism would ever come to this country. My opinion, I would say, keep the phone lines clogged to all your representatives, and others. The phone numbers can be googled easily. Keep informed. And find a Tea Party near you for you to find others with the same voice. The more we gather with others; the more we gain the confidence to remain steadfast and be heard.

  • People are getting fed up! We need to remind our elected representatives that they work for US. Not the other way around.

Murphy should been the one escorted from the chambers, not the people. That is THEIR house.

  • earart, Get a clue! People are fed up with your re-education rhetoric! This is not about conservative/liberal redefined crap anymore! This is not about Republican/Democrat! This is about how the peoples freedoms, and liberty have been screwed across the board for decades! Go eat peanuts your just another re-educated CLOWN!

  • The state of collapse in CA has much to do with a conservative property tax law passed in 1978 (wiki prop 13). Generally it was pretty good for CA's sparsely populated inland/rural areas; and quite hard for very populated coastal/urban areas -- in terms of home prices, school funding, and budgets for basic and emergency services. Enter a regressive sales tax, many bond acts and an obsession with building tax-generating projects, instead of homes.

  • Yea, CA's collapse has nothing to do with all the illegals taking advantage of public works and welfare.

BTW, you better rush to my comment to mark it as negative. Sorry the truth hurts so much.

  • Research how much of a drain illegals are on our economy before you voice opinions. I deal in facts. Show me hard facts showing how they help the economy.

  • Turn your sarcasm radar on dude.

  • Might there be a political/private partnership dynamic that could bring about more mid-income jobs (jobs which might also be more interesting for young people to remain in-state for) while still keeping taxes "fair"? Here in California tax laws do not allow a state deduction for federal taxes; yet young people stay and even move here, even with ridiculous real estate prices. It's tough for all young people, but CA has a diversity of job opportunites and a diversity of housing options.

  • Sorry I think Iowan's would prefer not to model our state after the likes of California, which is in a total state of collapse. Beisdes, people are leaving California in droves

Besides we don't have things like oceans, mountains and a mild climate to attract young people.

  • Besides I need an edit button, besides, besides besides. LOL

  • Know why the politicians of old did not swindle the citizenry as the politicians of today do? The reason is accountability. Back then, when this country could produce men, if politicians were not held accountable by the judicial system then they, men, would take justice into their own hands and use whatever means at their disposal to remover those criminals from office, permanently.

  • This is outrageous!!! We are being steamrolled as Americans!!! Time to wake up and take action! Our Nation is at risk...this is only the begining! It's "For the People and by the People!" Fight back!!! It's a matter of our Constitution and our Freedoms! Enough is enough!

  • Most of the protestors look to be over 45 with only a few in their teens or twenties. I wonder where the younger Iowans stand on this issue. Might there be an absent majority in support of the new tax law? Might there be a young generation, Repubs and Dems who are refusing to engage in public politics because it appears to them as combative, cynical and frankly, crazy?

  • You want to know why most are over 45?

Because Iowa's tax laws have driven out it's younger generations. Ask pretty much any young Iowan if they plan to live in Iowa after they graduate, and the answer is almost always no.

Iowa = Low income jobs, high taxes

  • i love to see people getting fired up in this country

  • I listened to the entire PUBLIC HEARING on the internet...The people speaking were NEVER interrupted..The audience either applauded or booed AFTER a speaker finished..They only got "rowdy" when they were told they had to leave..The speakers in favor were mainly politicians The MAJORITY of speakers were against the bill..The vast majority of Iowans are against eliminating federal deductibility!...Politicians who vote for this "smoke and mirrors tax increase" will feel our wrath next election!

  • I would have liked to listen to the entire "Hearing". Thanks for the report on it, it was just as I had thought. Politicians have crowned themselves "for our own good". Since We the (little) people can not govern ourselves. Hey was that King George telling the chattering class to leave?

  • Comment removed

  • do taxpayers have special rights in the US, or why is there this emphasis on taxpayers, wouldn´t citizens or US-Americans be enough?

  • Dems and Repubs...same thing you morons....

Let these politician pay taxes without us...see how far that gets them.....

Come on people...grow a pair...it's your future..you hired these clowns..now kick their asses...

  • it seems to me that the government is taking us out of the decision making equations, when making decisions that pertain to the people or affects us in one way or another, more and more often then less. If this keeps going on, one day they may decide that they don't need us at all. how will they keep us quite then, what will they do to us then?

  • Give them enough rope

  • Never believe democrats when they say taxes would be cut. Won't happen--they lie like hell.

  • Where is Frodo when we need him?

Only he can withstand the the temptation of the ring of power. Only he can slip through the eyes of Sauron and Saruman.

  • It's been typical behavior of Dem politicians. DNC interest groups get most of your tax money, and they have routinely shut down debate and dissent. I've seen so many Dem chairmen cut off discussion and shout down critics.

  • DON'T TAX ME BRO'

    I WANT MY COUNTRY BACK.

email em, phone em;, dog em', camp out on their doorsteps, front yards until they STEP DOWN

bARNEY fRANK cHRIS dODD nANCY pELOSI

  • enough. we are angry. we are being robbed. our government is out of control. time for real change.

  • I hate to say it, but it isn't just the Dems -

they are the lesser of two evils, but that's the best thing I can say. The rot is all-encompassing if we're talking generalities...there are rays of hope here and there...usually with the 'freshmen'.

  • This is a sign of how disgusting and corrupt Democrats are in general. if you disagree they just get rid of you. THEY CAN"T HANDLE THE TRUTH. HYPOCRITES. Democrats have long stood for their own personal interests and power. WE ARE TIRED OF OLIGARCHS. GET OUT OF MY COUNTRY!!!

  • Taxpayers are thrown out of their own capitol?? They are the only ones who have a right to be there.

  • Politicians only answer to Corporate America and special interest. The average U.S. taxpayer is not represented. Time to wake up and smell the coffee.

  • The great cover-up is here. One state at a time, one region at a time, so on and so on.

    REVOLT !!

  • ***drum roll***

    Time for an Iowa Joke!!!

You might live in Iowa if.....you install security lights on your house and garage, but leave both unlocked.

    badumpbump! groan....

  • There's really nothing funny about this, ass-clown.

  • I question when those hired to serve and protect the tax payer are going to start doing their job. They look to be playing the roll of goverment body guards.

  • I sure hope people are getting as upset as I am with how OUR REPRESENTATIVES AND ELECTED OFFICIALS don't realize that they work for us.

  • Cognitive dissonance in action. We are not serfs; they work for us.

  • That is truly an outrage. If you can't deduct the money that had been taxed out of your income by the feds, then the state is taxing you on money that has already been taxed; money that you probably never even got to hold in the first place.

    I agree with Mimstech....Join a Tea Party!!!.

  • this is coming to your city, open your eyes and ears,go to every meeting, voice your opinion,if you snooze you lose,we the american people need to take our country back.

  • If the democrats are for the tax changes, it's a tax increase.

    Revolt! Recall! Repeal!

  • What more proof do we need?

Get involved in a Tea Party in your area. This is not a Republican nor Democrat nor Libertarian thing....it's an American thing.

Preserve, protect and defend our GOD given rights as citizens of this once Great Nation!

  • " And that is Final" Loved that line too. The Legislators crown themselves,

  • This is how it starts. The people are disenfranchised from the process and from THEIR money all because ,as my Senator Ron Wyden said the people have given us a "mandate" by electing Obama. I say we give them a mandate and Kick their asses out.

  • The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of liberalism, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.

    - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

  • Democrat orders Police to clear the tax paying public - typical Democrat behavior! White House comes next!

  • Things are gonna keep getting worse as long as mobsters and thugs run the government!!!!!!!

    I agree....It SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This SUCKS! Really sucks, the people should have stayed and been hauled to jail and let THAT be on the news!!!!! I just didn't know that THE PEOPLE who really "own" the Statehouse could be THROWN OUT!
