Awesome cover, I like the thumping bassdrum underneath and the active hi-hat. And the repeated telephone-ringing so perfectly in sync! You even sound a bit like a German singing in English while trying (and succeeding) to conceal a heavy accent...
@trckfl1f2lds3 LOL yes I think that you have pretty much discerned what I was trying to achieve with this cover. Vocally, I think I do fall somewhere in a similar range as Karl and Ralf for that matter...which certainly helps! The element of a heavy accent is well within my understanding--my relatives are German, and I have have been exposed to that vernacular all my life, so it was quite easy to understand and adapt Karl's performance as my own. I was thoughtful not to copy it.
@busywave Thanks Mark...it's surprising...not too long ago I looked and it was at a mere 200...next thing I know this...I can't figure out these things : /
That was like ours too, and like the one at 1:49. I remember seeing some of the early 50's era phones around during the 60's, and of course the blue princess phones--those were like some sort of high tech gadget! Why? Because there was a dialer light when you lifted the handset! LOL! Thanks Mark!
Hi Walt! How are you? How all is well with YOU! Love your new cover; you sound great! Love the video - now that's a PHONE! Lots of crazy sounds in this one! BRAVO!
Hi Julie, thank you so much for that...doing quite well...hope you are as well! :) I'm glad that you liked this cover Julie! I agree: The old phones were a work of art: another time another place I guess..more than just a paperweight! LOL!

Every single of Kraftwerks albums is a masterpiece , and their recent Masterpiece Tour de France is one of the best in my opinion

Hey thanks Dave..yeah and Carl sang this one too. He was right up there with Ralf!

Am i right in thinking krafwer split up? ive got quite a few albums of theirs.
Synthsound1 2 years ago
Yeah, Dave I think they're done. when Florian left the band that was it as far as I'm concerned...
tho really the original lineup with Karl and Wolfgang were really the only genuine Kraftwerk imho.
NickDrake101 2 years ago
Yeah its a shame they split.they made some great stuff, Numbers pocket calculator more fun to compute some of my favs.

@NickDrake101 actually Karl and Wolfgang weren't in the original lineup

Great cover Walt. The recording is outstanding. My grandmother had the phone at 1:21. Nice video.
