These guys were why i got into construction,i'm a sparky,but DEFINATELY not a RADDISH like Barry.Got the whole series on vid and dvd,I also came across some tilers who were oot in Germany at the time this was made and they said it was pretty much like what the series portrayed....including the knockin shop (which was subsidised by the company they subbied for)and all legal and above board......whey aye man bringa back the eighties man....Maggie Thatcher....dole q's...what a bloody loovely time
Whatever happened to the girl who played Vicki? She was a natural comedienne (and looked great in that bikini!) so I'm suprised we didn't see any more of her.

i love series 2. even tho they went through hell filming it. with central tv employers not willing to work due to the movement of the studios to london and the death of gary.
but it is still a fantastic piece of work, and i watch it a lot more then the other series.
i agree completely ! ihav them all on dvd.....& they are gr8. Just a sad loss of wayne(gary holton) who died at such a young age & wot a talent. The episodes after he died wer not as good ! but it must hav been very hard for the other 6 to carry on !
iv'e often wondered if the people in the cafe were paid extras or just ordinary customers.if they were just ordinary folks who just happened to be there, what a lucky bunch.
They would have been extra's paid by the tv company,the outside scenes were probably very early in the morning or later on a light night, the inside scenes believe it or not will be in a set.
Pity he had to be edited around in so many scenes including here in the driving (BMW scene with Pat & Chris).
One of my fave scenes from my fave show ever. when the lads are labelled the magnificent 7 by Wayne(I'll be Hurst Bucholtz coz he was the youngest and best lookin'".. (Steve McQueen? Nah I forgot about him!"... Oz; "AHHH, bollocks, you chose the Kraut so your stuck with him!")>
I hope you've managed to catch up with Series 2 by now. In my opinion it's the best (although many think series 1 is the best. I love all of the comeback stuff, especially cuba (series 4) and Thailand (Christmas Special) so i hope you check that out in due course.
Mintyhead - you're doin a stand up job. One of my favourite scenes is when Barry and Wayne are out having a drink and Barry tries to chat the two German girls up, enticing them with an offer to go back to their hut...!!! I haven't seen it since its original airing back in the 80's but just thinking about it cracks me up. If you've got it, please upload it... Its pure class.

They actually didn't originally, there was a 3rd series set in russia right after series 2, but they all refused due to Gary not being there!
