I have a 200GB hard drive which I used to transfer over to my 1TB and the 1TB hard drive has lost 800GB of its memory, so basically there is only 200GB of memory which can be stored on it (max). Where has the rest of the other 800GB of storage gone?
@SupaDupaTime you have to extend your partition under computer management disk management(vista or w7) if youre on xp youll have to download another program or use gparted on a live boot cd

@BroknSircut Yes you can. I never worked with an SSD drive but I know its still using a SATA connection. As long if your data from your old drive is able to fit into the new one, it will be fine.

@joesdevil68 also remove any registry entries in regedit. uninstalling clone disk will not remove reg entries. some elements are always left behind. you should be ok then to reinstall.

The reason why I mentioned an enclosure in this video was because I was working and recording on a laptop. @machpunchify Do the same thing I showed in this video. When I recorded this it was on a laptop and I bought an enclosure to do the transferring. Just pick the 65GB hard drive as the drive you want to copy and pick the 1TB as the hard drive you want to paste the data to. In the end it will work.

@shinmasterx Nothing gets erased. Everything gets copied and transfered to the new hard drive you are wanting to clone to. At the end of the process, you will have two hard drives that have exactly the same data.
It is not working for my WD SATA drive on Compaq Presario CQ62. The process stopped in the middle of the process, leaving a black screen.
I had to use EASEUS DISK COPY instead.
EASEUS DISK COPY is free and less time consuming than acronis migrate easy. It took 75min to transfer my 160G WD to 250G WD. And the new disk boots fine.

@Sup750 I think I see what you are asking. I am going to assume you have 2 hard drives. One with Ultimate and the other is Home Premium. You can format the home premium hard drive and then run this program that I show you here and it will transfer everything from home premium to that hard drive.
The backstory is that: my notebook is running Win7 Ultimate. I wanna get a new system b/c mine is terribly slow (1.6 Ghz single core). i cloned my laptop hdd to a usb external one with Hdclone, but it's not working :( when i start my laptop with the new hdd in it says it can't find Windows\sistem32\winload.exe. in the begining, i selected hdd to hdd clone. it automaticaly formated and partitioned my new hdd, i think it made my sistem partition bootable, but i have no clue where could be the problem :(

I followed this process and the first time it seemd find but i kept getting the BSoD, when i ran a hard drive test with Western Digital disk check it failed for too many bad sectors.
I got a replacement drive through amazon it is a western digital 500gb Scorpio blue drive.
again it seemed to be ok but then it started again, i keep getting error 51 in my event viewer. i am using a HP pavilion DV6119us laptop.

@jxsilicon9 Its asking you if you want to format your new drive, it doesn't know that your drive is brand new, it assumes you have stuff in your new drive. Since you have a new hard drive it doesnt matter what you select, but it doesn't make any sense to delete something that isn't there. It will not delete anything in your main hard drive though.
@jxsilicon9 No, what the program actually does is create exact same copy of your hard drive into another hard drive. So in the end you will have two hard drives that are exactly the same, except one has more space and the old one doesn't. Nothing gets deleted.

Hi! I tried to do as you said in the video to clone the OS to my new hard drive, but the program doesn't recognize my SSD hard drive. I formatted it in Windows and my Win7 Ultimate recognizes it and can use it as well as an external hard drive. What should I do?

Is it possible to transfer your OS on your current system to a new one? Like for example: Your system is running Win Vista Ultimate and you got a new system that runs Home Premium. Can you somehow get rid of that home premium and transfer your Ultimate edition on the new system?

@Sup750 I think I see what you are asking. I am going to assume you have 2 hard drives. One with Ultimate and the other is Home Premium. You can format the home premium hard drive and then run this program that I show you here and it will transfer everything from home premium to that hard drive.

The backstory is that: my notebook is running Win7 Ultimate. I wanna get a new system b/c mine is terribly slow (1.6 Ghz single core). The reason i ask is b/c most of the PCs at the stores are all running Win7 Home Premium and I don't wanna downgrade from Ultimate. The question I asked earlier was just an example, by the way. I'm asking if I get a PC that runs Home Premium, can I somehow get my Ultimate from my old one onto the new Home premium laptop/notebook?

i cloned my laptop hdd to a usb external one with Hdclone, but it's not working :( when i start my laptop with the new hdd in it says it can't find Windows\sistem32\winload.exe. in the begining, i selected hdd to hdd clone. it automaticaly formated and partitioned my new hdd, i think it made my sistem partition bootable, but i have no clue where could be the problem :(

Questions: 1) This works for 2 internal hard drives correct? 2) I also have another question: after you format your new hard drive and it asks you to restart, you said we had to select the option to make it a "boot drive" right? so wouldn't my computer boot from the empty drive instead of my old drive with all the stuff in it? 3) Does this method copy windows files as well? as in; windows operating system, browser history, internet cookies, and itunes files, etc?

I followed this process and the first time it seemd find but i kept getting the BSoD, when i ran a hard drive test with Western Digital disk check it failed for too many bad sectors.
I got a replacement drive through amazon it is a western digital 500gb Scorpio blue drive.
again it seemed to be ok but then it started again, i keep getting error 51 in my event viewer. i am using a HP pavilion DV6119us laptop.
I dont know what else to try i have checked and updated all drivers, BIOS etc.
ideas?

@DhDo74 im copying everything from the old hd to a new drive, but what i'm saying is it changed the size of the new drive to 39gb. i got it to be the right size and now windows blue screens when trying to boot :-/ run recovery console and it says one or more unrecoverable errors :-/

Can I clone the current drive in my laptop to one connected via a usb enclosure. I ask because I've read that you cannot:
"When cloning to another internal hard drive, the process can be done within Windows. However, when cloning to an external drive, you need to have prepared an emergency boot disk within True Image and to have booted the notebook from it.

@courtleableu2 If your computer has multiple hard drive bays then yes you can use internal. If you use a laptop you will need to buy an enclosure for it to work.

@jxsilicon9 Its asking you if you want to format your new drive, it doesn't know that your drive is brand new, it assumes you have stuff in your new drive. Since you have a new hard drive it doesnt matter what you select, but it doesn't make any sense to delete something that isn't there. It will not delete anything in your main hard drive though.

@jxsilicon9 No, what the program actually does is create exact same copy of your hard drive into another hard drive. So in the end you will have two hard drives that are exactly the same, except one has more space and the old one doesn't. Nothing gets deleted.
