can you shoot the older mags with it? i mean like metal ones, the ones that go with my AR now. i have a few bushmaster ones that are only a couple of years old and i want to know if those will be completely obsolite or not. thanks
Not being a hater but how much of this is novelty? After seeing a regular AR being converted from a 5.56mm, to a .50 Beowulf & a 5.7 ( FN P90 )mm, Adaptiveness is not a huge selling point to me. I suppose it may be lighter than an old AR and/or possibly more reliable than an AR but when you start considering price ( esp on a military scale ) The M4 doesn't look that bad. Rumor has it Rangers were underwhelmed by their use of the FN SCAR, haven't seen any solid names attached to that rumor yet.
HAHA!!! I grew up in Clarksville, TN. I remember being a kid driving past that gunstore on the way to Wal-Mart always wanting to go inside.lol So weird...
Can someone give me a hand I have been searching (Gun Broker) for either a M4, m16 or ar-15 and I need the price to be around 700-800$ I also need it to have a rail on the upper receiver, any suggestions?
@Crazysniperman not to over step my bonds but i would sujest a Colt M4A1 Match Target yes it will cost an extra $ 400 but I will tell you mine is well worth the money in my opinion mainly because it es very tuff and durable and will not break with a cartridge malfunction like some cheeper AR but thats all up to you.
@nevets916 I think I have decided on a Del-ton M4, from tactical guns and gear comes with two mags full RIS and a sling. If you could pleas tell me if Del-ton is any good?
I like your reviews, you seem like a real person, but I notice, you never have a bad thing to say about any rifle. They are all great... I really wish you tell us what is your best pick for anti person use, because all I care about is killing bad guys.
I just report the facts. If a weapon works as intended, and is accurate, I pretty much like it! If it has any problems, I report them. Always. If you live in the USA or other parts of North America, you should own an AR-15 rifle.
I'm looking in too buying a assault rifle. I was told that the M16 or M4 doesn't have the power i want in a assault rifle. I was told that this is gun that i should look in to. but i have a few questions. 1. How accurate is the ACR when firing the Ak47 round. 2. How hard is this to buy? do i need a licenses to buy this?
Not knowing your location, I do not know the purchase requirements in your area. in the free parts of the US, all you need is to fill out the papers and pay your money. Check with your local gun seller on what is required. The ACR 5.56mm shoots the same cartridgbe as does the M16/M4/AR15 family of rifles, so the power is the same.
Is the charging handle reciprocating and does it require a tool for cleaning disassembly? So far the Remington ACR has been my favorite version of this design.( But it's not like a thousand dollars is going to magically materialize in my wallet so...)Looks like this won't KO the M4, especially since Colt lowered the price they charge the gov't for an M4 ( rumour ). Probably=1/3 the price of ACR now & the M4 is STILL a respectable weapon75th Rangers wanted to get their M4s back after FNSCAR MK16s
@oeyesea the charging handle is non reciprocating. It can also be fully disassembled to include the trigger group with no tools. I love my acr, not a single fail to fire in the 1000+ rounds i've shot using cheap Federal ammo that you can buy at walmart.
The advantage that the AR has over the ACR is the wide variety of replacement parts, it's slightly lighter, and it's a time proven weapon.
@oeyesea no doubt interesting rifle, but not so much that it should replace the M4/M-16 series. Personally I like them better as well. In terms of performance, its got the right touch. Granted its not the easiest weapon to maintain but its a lot more reliable then people think. The M-16s back in Vietnam really should have never been fielded as they were technically in the prototype phase. They should have waited until the M-16A1 (circa 1967) came out.
That would be a lot of meat for the winter i love this gun I'm turning 22 hopefully can find a gun license place here in NYC. Would love to learn hunting different types of guns/ knives.
I have no idea, I don't even pretend to understand the crazy gun laws over there. Check with a California dealer, it's their business to know such things.
cant touch my bushmaster 308. the biggest problems with these is the round they fire. the 6.8 and the 556 are basically a 30-30 round one is more powerful in different areas than the other. if you want a badass gun get a 308 and mod it to what you want. you can build anything your heart desires
@Gunblastdotcom Thank you for the info. And thank you for making really great vids and articles on firearms. For people that are new to all this, it's a blessing lol.
@ThaddeusMcSpalding there are many scopes now especially made for certain calibers. Usually they have ballistic mil dots and markings for that bullets trajectory.
@ThaddeusMcSpalding there are many scopes now especially made for certain calibers. Usually they have ballistic mil dots and markings for that bullets trajectory. I'm not sure about THAT sight, but most likely, Its is handling the recoil of a .223 piston driven system.
I fail to see the purpose in switching calibers in the field. I can see why a civilian would want to buy another barrel assembly and bolt so you don't have to buy another rifle but changing calibers in the field? I wouldn't want to carry around an extra barrel, bolt, mags, and different ammo just so I can stop in the heat of battle and change my caliber so I can attempt to hold off an ambush with a bigger bullet.
@ILikeWeapons132435 It's for when your in a country which does not have 5.56 as a sandard ammo. So you switch over to 7.62 and no one is the wiser that you where there. You leave 7.62 cases. You do not carry the barrels around in the field. It's in the armory so if you are heading somewhere and need to change you change and head out.
i was wondering in this video of future weapons mac has a scope that folds down to the side in front of a holographic sight i was wondering what it was called.
@fierwall5 It was more than likely an Eotech with a 5x or 3x magnifier in front of it. LaRue makes mounts that fold like that as do many other companies. It's a cool system but it's expensive.
I saw this in the gun store today and it looks like a very nice, solid rifle. Very pricey though. Weight ain't much of a problem since I'm a tall dude with some meat on my arms.
i saved for the Bushmaster ACR, but at 2500 price point I got the LWRC M6A3 instead and i'm extremely happy. Both guns are nearly the same price so why you ask?? Well at 1500 i was absolutely willing to give them a chance but at 2500, the ACR is not a proven design (long term) and parts availability will be terrible. Right now for my M6A3 i can find about 98% of my parts from any gun dealer/store. Again 1500 sure i'd take a "shot" at ACR, at 2500 thats a resounding NO!!
That price will drop once the new wears off. $2200 is Bushmaster/Remingtons way of raking in as much cash off of us gun junkies as they can right up front. I bet in a year they will only cost about $1600. I better start saving my money now.
Hey I was wondering how you were liking that NAA Earl? If you have shot it much more. I think you should do a review on the little pug they have with the night sights.
@classof77 i have seen and held one and its no bigger than an m4 and the price was marked down at Sportsman Warehouse it felt real good and solid in my hands
@gsx1138 and it is a piece of shit. Bushmaster/Remington fucked it up. FN SCAR is the way to go if you just have to take out a second mortgage for a carbine. You can get a M4, 2 AKs, and a case of beer for the price of this piece of shit ACR. Bushmaster/Remington can keep it.
I know a couple years ago when Magpul intended to market to prototype they quoted a MSRP of around $1500 - $2000, which for the features is somewhat understandable. But once the gun market picked up and Bushmaster stepped in, the suggested price doubled. I could do $1500 if I saved but this is ridiculous....
@SSPspaz To top it off Bushmaster limited it's release to in the beginning to Military and Law Enforcement only. Plus jacking up the price so far as I am concerned Bushmaster will never get another dime from me.
I thought you were a lefty? There is one of those on gun broker for like $15,000. No thanks. I have seen another version with a folding and adjustable buttstock, and more rails on the hand guard. It's in the new Bushmaster Catalog.
@fatboyR6 The "holes" in the handguard seem to act similar to the Magpul MOE handguard, meaning instead of having a shitload of rails you don't need, you pop on the ones you want/ need and then attach things as desired. As for the stock, that stock is the folding & retracting stock from what I understand. Price I heard for an ACR is supposed to be around 3 grand which is WAY too much in my opinion.
@XxLeggZxX ....the one Jeff has here in the video is the fixed stock version, "Basic Configuration" There are 2 versions and 2 color options of this rifle in the current Bushmaster Catalog. The one with the folding and telescoping buttstock is called the "Enhanced Version". So they make 2 configurations in 2 different colors. If you can get a copy of the new catalog it has a lot of info in it on the ACR.
@fatboyR6 Yeah I dunno wtf I was thinking when I typed what I did about that particular stock last night, I watched the vid again today, and I'm confused as to why I thought it was a folding/ collapsing stock, so my apologizes. Either way, I think the ACR is a bit overpriced. Looks like a really nice weapon system, but I don't think I'd be willing to shell out 2-3 grand for one of these. Just my personal preference.
@XxLeggZxX ...it's all good buddy. If I didn't have the catalog right infront of me I wouldnt have known crap about this rifle. Way outta my price range. I'm a $90 stripped lower kinda guy, and build from there. I am looking at a NP3 coated POF billet stripped lower right now for $275. However the complete upper is $1400...OUCH. Check out my channel I got some vids up you might like.
@Gunblastdotcom .... do you know how much they will sell the "Enhanced Version" Thanks Jeff always enjoy your website and videos. Just sometimes I wish the shooting portions were a bit longer. I know your a lefty, I was messin with ya....
@alpha9mm That is how new tech is. If it catches on and becomes popular, other companies will adapt a similar design and sell it a more competitive prices. Nice rifle but for the price, an M1A is looking much sweeter.

I'll take a Rob Arms XCR in 7.62x39.

@classof77 i have seen and held one and its no bigger than an m4 and the price was marked down at Sportsman Warehouse it felt real good and solid in my hands

Another nice rifle priced into pointlessness.

@gsx1138 and it is a piece of shit. Bushmaster/Remington fucked it up. FN SCAR is the way to go if you just have to take out a second mortgage for a carbine. You can get a M4, 2 AKs, and a case of beer for the price of this piece of shit ACR. Bushmaster/Remington can keep it.

awsome weapon system, but out of most people's price range for sure. :(

Hopefully, someday it'll be selling for under 2 grand and without making compromises to the design.

SSPspaz 1 year ago 2
@SSPspaz To top it off Bushmaster limited it's release to in the beginning to Military and Law Enforcement only. Plus jacking up the price so far as I am concerned Bushmaster will never get another dime from me.

I thought you were a lefty? There is one of those on gun broker for like $15,000. No thanks. I have seen another version with a folding and adjustable buttstock, and more rails on the hand guard. It's in the new Bushmaster Catalog.
fatboyR6 1 year ago
@fatboyR6 The "holes" in the handguard seem to act similar to the Magpul MOE handguard, meaning instead of having a shitload of rails you don't need, you pop on the ones you want/ need and then attach things as desired. As for the stock, that stock is the folding & retracting stock from what I understand. Price I heard for an ACR is supposed to be around 3 grand which is WAY too much in my opinion.
XxLeggZxX 1 year ago

I am left-handed, but I fired from the right shoulder to better show the weapon. The gun store where I got this one sells them for around $2150.

Too expensive for a .223. I'd rather get a 2600$ POF USA p308.

@alpha9mm That is how new tech is. If it catches on and becomes popular, other companies will adapt a similar design and sell it a more competitive prices. Nice rifle but for the price, an M1A is looking much sweeter.
