These aren't real deadlifts, look at Johnnie Jackson do real deadlifts, watch?v=st8FEFHlInk ...Notice the stop at the bottom, and going all the way down and all the way up. That's how it's done.

    That was also the guy who deadlifted 821 pounds at 198, and is universally considered one of the greatest deadlifters in the history of the sport. Of note is the fact that the current IPF world record in 198 is only 760 pounds. The all time world record in that weight class is 860, held by Ed Coan.

    Johnnie Jackson? His best competition deadlift is the same at a higher weight as far as I know, so in comparison I couldn't give two shits.

  • @Draykid Johnnie Jackson is a BODYBUILDER, and his best deadlift is 815 (last time I heard anyway), which is incredible for a bodybuilder. I was just using that video as an example of proper technique. Bodybuilders don't train for raw strength, so their are very few that can't lift super heavy. A powerlifting team lifts at my gym, and not a single one of them uses the terrible form this guy is using, that's my point. Even with the sumo stance, then go down all the way.
