  • great film... totally fucked up... for all you who think this is "anti-christian" read The Concept of Anxiety by Søren Kierkegaard and compare themes to this film

  • He was also inspired by Strindberg's Inferno crisis.

  • Man he kind of looks like an eggman now. It's really depressing how much he let himself go in 10 years.

  • Well, I've been lower than him but I'm not half as creative and falous like Lars von Trier is, many great artists like him or Herbert Grönemeyer and Beethoven got better as time and life treats them bad! I expect with anxiety the première of EL ANTICRISTO in México pretty soon, hope the goverment doesn't censure it. Saludos desde México (B-p).

  • @betokkikke

Yeap. Great artists transfer their pain beautifully through a medium and onto a canvas. That's something most of us will never be to do.

  • I hated the movie!

    Fucking sick!!

  • Anti christ really got to me, amazing beautiful movie.(and twisted) But i wish i had got a warning to turn away before the scene at the end in the shed ( with the penis ) Did not need to see that :P

  • I feel that the story of the original Sin is yet another way to make people, and especially women feel guilty, ashamed .... of the Real power of their Freedom. Mankind is still using only 15% of its brain and someday we might have to try and look beyond that smokewall . In my opinion Lars Von Trier is showing the madness created by Fear and twisted belief. Thanks a bunch to him . If only more people could get it straight.

  • yes, I wish that too!!!

  • what a magnificent piece of art! Great!

All women shall be so grateful to Lars for his understanding and compassion of the female soul!! He is a real feminist. He reflects on women and their history starting from the sin of Eden

  • I too saw it as a Great piece of art but I felt he was showing , quite fairly, a lost woman who goes from crazy (the torture of the son) to hysterical (after the death of their son).... What I'm trying to say is that by reading your comment I wonder if you're buying that Story of the original sin which is not a harmless story. I think it has done quite a lot of damage in the minds of all those beligerants. Please excuse my spelling

  • Wouldn't you also have to say then, that Lars himself is "buying" into the story of original sin, the fall of man, since he himself is a Catholic?

  • Even if he has said he is , does his last movie not display a great deal of questionning ? 'scuze my spelling I am French. I've just watched a video on the tube entitled "Antichrist:Lars V T stirs things up in Cannes 2009" where he jokes that he is the greatest director in the world.....But he doesn't know if god is the best god in the world. Wonderful how people can eventually pull their head out of their asses and get better.... Just eventually....

  • Alike in all his movies, he questions and provokes. That's what I love about Lars von Trier - he makes you think.

In the very interview he states he doesn't believe this religion is better than any other. He also says sometimes he defends what he is against...

I saw the movie and was thilled and amazed at the same time. I found the Prolog a piece of true visual art. Controversial to some people, yes. Brilliant, nonetheless.

  • Oops, correction: I was referring to the Interview I just saw, not to the Making Of. Sorry for the confusion.

  • nikemaria1:

    LOL

I am a woman but don't subscribe to the Original Sin. :-P ;-)

  • the film is only displaying and reflecting the effects original sin has had in all people's mind and how far it has been carried through the centuries..not every woman turns into a murder luckily ...but if she does it is potentially traceable.

no other director has gone so far in showing female oppression by male and religious power!!

  • nikemaria1:

Well said! I thought you were being sarcastic in your previous comment.

  • I think this movie is brilliant. I was amazed!

  • I know this woods :-)

  • wow. i really want to watch this movie

  • I are in for a great experience.....I watched it the day it was released and its magnificent

  • great i can´t wait to see this movie.

  • Why? Give me the reasons
