where can you get the power scouts? I have a bunch of these old stompers. Side clips, single speeds, you name it. I have been wanting my son to make a video but he thinks I am retarted! lol
@notsoeezee PowerScouts at Target and Toys-R-Us, but they are phasing them out...on clearance now at Toys-R-Us. It's not retarded, it's fun...a bit tough too because they move fast on that scale.
@notsoeezee This was something made in like 2007 for another toy. I got it for $0.99 at K-B Toys when they were closing down and I got no box or info at all. It did have a seesaw bridge with it, but that was gone when I found it. I know because I helped the clerk set up the display when they first got it in and it caught my eye as a stomper-like track. Thay still had the display up when they liquidated and I got it.
Yes, they are the new Stompers. They come in 4x4 & 6x6 and they have a great feature that lets the gears "slip" a bit so they do not bind when turning them on. On Stompers it's not so bad because the wheels are not on the ground when you turn them on, but if you do have your finger on a wheel it can cause them to bind. Tapping them works most of the time. Power Scouts are on the ground because you push the body down to turn them on so they must slip or it would be bad.
Very cool, that track works well for the Stompers, and the rest of the layout is really nice too. Great camera work as well, look forward to the rest.
How many Stompers do you have? I just recently found mine in a storage box. About ten Stomper 4x4's and Rough Riders, but only one each are still running.
I have have a red, tan and green Toyota (all front/back clip gen I) a blue blazer side-clip gen I, a yellow Datsun gen I and a blue Jeep wagon gen II body on a later chassis from the 90's maybe early 2000 something. None of these were mine from way back, but eBay finds. All work, a few issues on 2 or 3 of them, but the oldest (the side-clip) is in the best condition.
I think I will throw some flat spray paint on it so it matches the rocks better and throwing a little dirt in the cracks. I will also be using some spots of moss to give it some color and using a backdrop that I can key out and replace with a desert scene.
Great! Your video quality is so much nicer. Amazing what almost 30 years of technology will do. Will you be removing the pre-formed track and going full dirt with the final video response? Love the rocks....Look forward to seeing the final piece.
I had so much fun with them . My uncle and were just talking about them last week and the offroad park front yard good times!!
