Fire at Danvers, MA Chem Plant

I was on 128 in Peabody NB and saw a mushroom cloud and heard explosion as I crossed into Danvers, 2:45 am. Listeners to Steve Leveille on WBZ shared their eyewitness accounts

i saw the fire from my house! I was freaking out!!

I was helping my mother take care of my dying stepfather when the plant exploded and shook the house. We were all the way in Hamilton. My dad died later that day.

Even 2 years later this is the one video that makes me cry--I live across the bridge in that video but I had lived closer for 16 years. I have no idea why this video has that effect on me? I think the sounds of the fire engine sirens getting closer & closer & louder & louder. I still really miss the bakery & still haven't taken to pizza place's phone # out of speed dial.

It's really eerily quiet at the beginning without the noise of the sirens. I live in Marblehead and heard the explosion. I can't imagine what it must of sounded like for those who live in Danvers.

Yeah, I live on that street and after we got the hell out of there, I went down to where this was shot and sat there and watched it burn. Sad, sad night. This is down by Sandy beach right? Near those apartments across the river?

yea i live in gloucester and i heard it ... at 3 am but my friend lives right near the plant and when it exploded there whole house got blown out basicly the windows blew up. fuckin crazy
