I have brewed many beers using only herbs like combining Clover, Stinging nettles, dandolions, etc: 5 gal batches at a time. Great time at brew meetings and give aways.
when the wife and i went to brussels (beer heaven) we sat at a cafe and tried to drink what they had on the menu....but she drank a choclate beer i didint like it but she did.....i wonder if it will turn out like what she had? the beer was called le chauf or something like that :)
interesting, i have to say i have been thinking about doing this for a long time. i even went out and got a bunch of ovaltine to experiment with. i just got done racking the other stuff i was making so i should be able to start on the ovaltine beer soon. ive been looking for recipes that include it but it seems like no one has really experimented with it to the extent that any complex and highly rated recipes exist. any body know what hops and yeast i should use?
@azuritet3 Well I used Goldings because this is going to be dark like a stout. So I went for those. If I were you, I'd just use the same hops that are in your favorite stout. As for yeast, use a stout yeast. I went with the Coopers because I had it around, so it was pretty much free. I didn't want to put any more money into this experiment than I had to. I doubt it will be very good. But we'll see! I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Something is wrong with your mic on the left channel. There's an intermittent crackle-buzz thing going on.
