Hope my A2 Film is as good as this lol

  • So So so so so so so so so so cool!! I wish I had the tools and the knowledge to create something like this...hopefully I will soon though, I just graduated high school and I think I'm going to college for film studies or something smillar :) Keep up the great work!

  • Hey, I'm from Bucks Uni too =]

  • Kool! So u doing a film course?

  • I am, but sadly I'm still a first year :P

  • Was Premiere Elements the only software you used? If so, how did you get two shots of you in the same frame? Great film :) x

  • Started A Level media this year, enjoying it so far. now this is a short film that every student needs to be shown, because this is amazing !

    brilliantly edited and just brilliant!

    Well done

  • Hey Fanx man! All the best! :) x

  • Wooow. what software did you use? Thats amazing!

  • fanx! adobe premier elements 2.0!

  • that was weird.. but reay cool to!!:D it's creative, and sort of good that it doesn't have a meaning...:/:P nice work!:D

  • best film studies stuff i've seen so far, everything else is just awful, this is amazing, makes u think. An the fact you hav no idea what is going on but can tell that stuff is happening makes this film so interesting

  • hey thanx so much, means alot! :) Sam

  • this is reallly good like editing wise, but i can't see a clear narrative in it..?

other than that i thought it looked really good, which program did you use?

    x

  • narratives are over-rated

  • I thought that the editing was very good, however you did use some pretty shabby effects in there like at the end where he flashes while walking away. On the whole, very good editing. Quite an interesting concept and well made, very polysemic. Good acting and good soundtrack, so on the whole, a very good short film for someone only at A-level, I would have given you an A for production as well to be honest. Hope it helps.

  • ok well thanx i think though i dunno if 'shabby' is the correct word! I think that it works within the piece seing as there are lots of jump cuts and fade outs etc....

  • aww fanx very much! :) x

  • gd work mate, u deserved that A u got.

  • The music fitted in really well! This is amazing short film! Well done

~Check out my music video I made for A2 if you can pls! x

  • Some really nice ideas and techniques, I liked it. It's always nice to see A level stuff that's not god awful. A few questionable cuts/transitions here and there but overall awesome. Check out my profile for a few of my GCSE videos and in a few weeks my first A Level video.

  • well, this puts my film studies coursework to shame. bummer

  • hey i really like how you used all the different shots and manipulated wat the audience saw, then we could come up with any meaning we wanted :) we jus finished doing our music video, i thought it was going to be sooo awful doing all technical bits but editing was the best!

if u get a chance check it out. type in A2 For Your Babies. shud be 1 st vid :)

    xx

  • lol, no really, I wanna know, I'm doin a film trailer in media studies and would be gos to know. x

  • Use a tripod, film the person in different positions at EXACTLY the same angle. Use the crop tool on your editing programme and layer the images until you get the desired effect.

  • wow! This film is actaully amazing! how did you make it look like there was more than one of the samw person? x

  • fanx for the comment! Well thats simple.... i got my sextuplet brothers to help me out! :p x

  • Wow, like the conceept, like the music. Basically like it all. Well deserved A if u ask me:D

  • thank u very much! :)

  • wikid thank you! Best of luck with watever ur gonna do... if u ever need a hand lol! peace x

  • Wow. Impressive. Yeah i really enjoyed it. I could see the A Grade before the first 20 seconds were over. Clever. I was thinking along the themes of loneliness and Madness. but again its all about manipulation of the Camera, expressive editing and good use of sound. The narrative doesnt have to make sense so Well Done!!! Well deserved A.

  • Thank you very much.... nice to have an intelligent comment! Im very glad u enjoyed it!

And you can take watever meaning u want from it!

    Cheers!

  • that was really shit!!!! fuck off and dont write me ya fucking winge'n pom

  • excuse me..... 1st of all i did not write to u....secondly ur the only one who seems to think this is shit and judging by the fact you're in a minority then we can assume you're wrong and not only that but you are a phillistine because you obviously can't appreciate art!

And finally get up to date with music.... who listens to guns and roses etc.... anymore!

    peace x

    and dual screen

    editing must of taken ages!

mine took long enough and most of it was just jumpcuts lol

  • hehe bt then ur a media student so uve probs not practised as muich on film editing? I rlly liked ur fast cuts and the soudtracks gr8! Were u inspird by Guy rithcie's Snatch at all lol!? x

  • I did study at Theale Green school, in reading bt ive finished now! :)

  • i think the meaning is tiime goes by and the same things happen over and over as time goes on its the same thing all the time am i right??????

  • Yea thats pretty much right lol hence then name! To be honest i wasn't suree what the theme was when I set out but then i kinda realised that the film could reflect the way that its easy to get stuck in the routine of life, and forget who we really are........................or summink like that :p

  • thats very true we do get stuck in the routine of life and we need to remember who we truly r and thank u so very much for commenting back =D

  • Hey cheers for the comment! I actually got and A grade 4 it :) hehe and found out today i got B overall for film studies so im quite chuffed 2night lol!

  • wow that was very clever. 5 star

  • Thanks for your comment on my Feeder A level music video, I posted back on there. Came on here to watch this and it really is great! It's made really well and definately deserves an A, nice effects. I used iMovie HD at my college, what did you use for this and did you use layers of different footage to replicate yourself? Was really good!

  • ah thankx for the comment!! i used adobe premier elements 2.0! and yeah i layered myself up then cropped away the unwanted parts! :s

  • Nice one! Sounds complicated with the cropping, I haven't heard of adobe premier elements before but it sounds professional lol. Good luck with the result :)

  • wow. very well done! i really like this. i was worried that this would just be a video which ignores the metamorphosis layout. It's very well done and the theme fits in perfectly with the theme of Philip Glass' work.

i really like this and can see exactly why you got a good grade. Wouldnt mind seeing more of your stuff

  • really good. i had heard bout your vid but hadnt seen it yet. really strange, must have taken ages... some bits really made me laugh, good luck for week thursday!!lol

    Ben

  • This is really well done!! Much better than my A level video anyways!!

I'm not 100% sure I understood it but I still think it's very well done :)

    x

  • and i threatened to kill Crossley's dog! ;)
