If you read the IGN interview with Chris Schwartz and Josh Fedak, they pretty much settle that their intention was that the ending is a happy ending and that Sarah gets her memory back. I disliked the ending too just because I hate ambiguous endings - I enjoy closure - but I understand why they went with the ending that they did.

I actually loved the ending and thought it was pretty obvious what happened. Sarah was getting her memories back quickly (Wienerlicious, Irene Demova, etc.), and I'm sure Chuck's story helped with that. The kiss was pretty long at the end, so even if she didn't remember everything right away, I think they ended up back together. I like to believe Morgan's idea worked. Still, this video was great! I loved the finale and the last scene. The part of me that shouldn't ever get what it wants wished everything had been spelled out. But I wouldn't have remembered an ending like that.
