One of the most amazing Sci-Fi movies i've ever seen. And I watched both Star Wars and Star Trek. This just blows my mind away. Mostly because, it's not in America, and if they really did come, this would have happend, ( only they'd put them in a better place perhaps). I recommend this move to everyone.

They were probably hoping to fix the problem and get the hell outta there before we attacked and killed them. Kinda like having your car break down at night in downtown NYC. Lock yourself in the car and hope you can get help before the locals come for ya. lol

But if you are into a re-make of Ferngully or Pocahontas with blueskinned aliens and massive amounts of CGI squeezed into 3+ hours of a televangelist program for green industry propaganda, than Avatar is probably more your type of movie.
