  • omfg the L is silent

  • Commercial Solar Panels are Expensive!

Your Only Option is to Build You own Solar Panels

There is an Engineer from Chicago that explains it All

You can find his web site by Searching Google for...

    "Top DIY Solar Panels"

Click the First Result (Skip The Advertisements)

  • Very interesting information.

  • They must be handled with care

    *dumps it on table*

  • On en fait des chargeurs pour portable maintenant ;)

    solar charger for cell phone

  • Why did they hire the most annoyingly flamboyant fuckhead to host this...

  • Very Interesting vid, thx

  • Interesting video!! We'd like invite you to visit our Youtube Channel, where you can learn more about a sun tracker, called Optim-Top

  • Cool

  • centagrate haha

  • Wow, no wonder they are so expensive, they only make 6 a day? I'd have to estimate, though no expert, that at least 90% of that lab-coat doods work could be automated or am I wrong? Probably an old video as I'm sure this is the case today.

  • who else wanted to know how the module is made?

  • bayot mana

  • SCAM

  • They act like this shit is hard to make just to charge you out the ass.

  • @Scott19seventy5

That's right. This is made from gravel (silicon) which is the most abundant material on earth. So the raw material not the problem. Next most of the manufacturing is made by robots, so the labor price is not the issue too. So if you get raw materials almost for nothing, and labor price is not the major factor into manufacturing so the price should be not so high. Someone still keeping it out coming cheaply into the market.

  • @kessass83 I think we know who that someone is and they send you your power bill every month.

  • as others have stated, this is surely not the way panels are mass produced. They would be insanely expensive if the had to be solderes by hand.

  • The L in solder is silent, dude.

  • @atester42 . Not in

    English, old chap.

    ;~)

  • cool video well explain visit my channel and visit the website

  • I loved this but

Can I create 500w from 60w solar panel?

If I get a solar panel consists 36 3x6" cells which produce 0.5v, 3.6amps and 1.8 watts each (Which will be total 17v and 60watts)

I need 12 volts DC to charge a battery right? and a battery gives 12 volts AC to the inverter which it converts in 500watts or whatever it's capable of.

Can I give DC 12v to inverter (Directly through inverter's + and - Terminals) to create 500w or not?

if no then is there anyway to do it?

    Thanks

  • Hey! It's Mark Tewksbury. Haven't seen him on HIM in a long time.

  • Cool loved it and it looked easey and it is all done by robots

  • What ever happened to automation? o.O XD

  • This is all done by Robots man. This is like the first one made as a prototype but the manufacturers that make ours have lines of robots doing all this.

  • mystex i love u

  • hiro de puta pannels solar

  • fuck!!

  • fuck solar pannels it's a shit

  • Only one problem you don't save money with solar panels it just about the same as buying your electric from company's.

Solar Panels cost a bomb and have a life span of about 10-12 years, the cost is way to high to save money.

Look at the articles how the older people are falling into these scams.

  • nice turtle neck

  • "6 of these are made here every day."

    Holy shit, slow fucks.

  • Chuck Norris can power solar panels.. At night.

  • see ya

  • Interesting video.

  • I hate how he says "soldering"

  • "They have to be handled with great care" As the technician dumps the assembly onto the table.

  • skip all the beginning steps why don't ya?

  • in one episode it was How stamping equipment was Made - and it went on for ages, this machine making all these things just to have the ink put into a material that soaked it up - so they did all that to put the ink inside the stamp itself, which would at some point run out.

know what we used to do? make a stamp out of rubber - just cut the shape out - and plank it into ink you poured onto something absorbant like sponge, in a tin. no need to build an elaborate device.

  • anytime i see How It's Made on Quest channel - it's always really complex elaborate machines that are doing all the making.....when do we get to see How those machines are Made, and the whole employment backstories - the actual overall costs of them inc. the wages paid to those involved of course. who designed them, programs them, maintains them, got the raw materials, shipped them, cast them, etc etc - that whole load of pish.

  • When is the documentary on the Making Of How It's Made coming out? & the full-length version that goes into how the cameras mixing-equipment and mics are made, then how the genetics of the crew and presenter and producer etc are made, then how their atomic constituents were made, and it just regresses infinitely from there.

  • whats the name of the music playing???

  • Very cool green video about how to make solarpanels

  • I love how u are teaching people about how solar power works, if u looking for cool things green energy come to my store at power -ur-world is see if u like.

  • That voice reminds me of Ross, from friends...

  • @103798 you're right

  • This isn't How It's Made, more like How It's Assembled.

  • @potsmaps well when you assemble something your making something

  • @potsmaps Right, they completely skip how the modules were made despite them being the key component.

  • @potsmaps its the same thing.

  • @potsmaps This is How It's Made: Solar Panel. If you wanna see how they make Solar Cells, search for "How It's Made: Solar Cells".

  • @potsmaps Wrong way round! This IS how it's made, not how it's assembled.

  • @potsmaps this is how solar Panels are made. not solar cells.

  • If You Want To Make Your Own Solar Panels Easy & Fast, Than This Is Your Chance To Change Our Childrens Future And Go Green !

    Enjoy :) squidoo(dot)com/green-future

  • So, this is how mass production is done...

  • Learn how to pronounce soldering the correct way.

  • Will hail break the solar panels??? Aren't green jobs suppose to save america and why does spain have the highest unemployment?? Spain has all the green jobs!!

  • If you are interested in learning how to make your own wind turbines and/or solar panels, I have found an amazing eBook that shows you how. You can make two solar panels for under $100. The link is available on my channel. If it worked for you please, thumbs up. We need to become self-sufficient!

  • GOD MADE IT.

  • you could do this 3 times faster with robots, just saying

  • @lightspeedkiller Speed is not always that important. SLOW down.

  • @lightspeedkiller

robots have fossil fuels, and it kind of defeats the purpose of the panel

  • @robertsonak01 no see, why not make a solar panel factory that runs on solar power

  • with a robotic plant these could be made ten times faster

  • How ironic...They are making something that will save energy....but are wasting energy in just testing it!.....

  • This video doesn't show how to make solar panels!? It shows how to solder tiny ones toghether!!

  • why the cut off edges on the individual sections? seems like a needless waste of space to me, infact why the seperate cells at all why not 1 big one?

  • SAWLDERED

  • These things are not good, they are only like 10% efficient and get´s less efficient the hotter it gets :/ + they are very expensive... You are better off putting up a panel with water in it, painted black so the water gets heated. Those things are like 30 % efficient, but then you would have to convert it into electrical energy so I don´t know which one is the the most efficient... the water one is sure cheaper though..

  • Amazing. If anyone is thinking about installing solar panels you can get a solar quote for free check out global solar centers website.

  • there's gotta be a better way to manufacture these

  • look there: .dshini.net/de/spage/ea937ba2-99eb-dcb4-4111-ca7edb90e44c

  • pretty sure that is parallel

  • did you know solar Panels only last 20-25 years IF YOUR LUCKY! then its Toxic waist..

    >>> It is estimated that a ton of SF6 equals a greenhouse effect of 25,000t of CO2. SF6 can be reduced to sulphur dioxide (SO2), the emissions of which can result in acid rain. Overuse of SF6 can undermine climate change targets by the use of solar power, as SO2 emissions create a high greenhouse effect. <<<

Dark Secrets they DON'T tell you .. do a Google of “Toxic waste of solar” or “Toxic Waste of PV sf6”.

  • @canectar So SO2 emissions are going to be the end of us all if we go the evil way of solar. I'm just curious, in your opinion, what has the largest/most disastrous ecological impact? The SO2 emissions or the toxic waste being scattered about in Japan at this time? Of the two what mess is more difficult to deal with? What would rather discover in your back yard, the dead solar panel or a spent fuel rod from a nuke plant? Have you got a better alternative?

  • Comment removed

  • @canectar Right now, I'm wondering how you managed to turn SILICON (SI) into SULFUR (S) without a particle accelerator or nuclear reactor... Or if you meant Silica Fume (abbreviated SF, NOT AN ELEMENT) which does not involve sulfur in any possible way, how do you get it to break down into sulfur (chemical symbol S, AN ELEMENT)?

Basic Chemistry makes your argument invalid.

  • @PyroDesu duhh.... by using alchemy! the only way to the future :P

  • All the energy and time required to make and test that thing probably out weight any benefits that you gain from buying them. WAY overpriced

  • yet they did not show how they were made they showed how they were built

  • Its pronounced Sa-der dumb ass. Who picks these people to narrate tv shows?

  • The best idea to become independent. If energy is free, then the bulk of our problems has been solved

  • take those panels and put them in the basement.first you take a parabolic solar concentrator and put an robotic arm on it to follow the suns path.then make the focal point a mirrored shape cone that will send the light down through mirrored glass tubing straight into a mirrored shape glass box inside the mirrored shape box will be several solar panels that spin to keep them cool the mirrored box must have the mirrors inward to reflect the light sending from the parabolic focal point.ken van horn

  • if you really want to make something work here it is take a parabolic solar concentrator and send light into a mirrored cone shape focal point then send that light into mirrored glass tubing which will send the light into a mirrored box with solar panels in it the solar panels must be cooled by spinning or cooling system.now get to work

  • @kennethvanhorn Know what else works Ken? Capitalization and punctuation. Try it, you'll like it!

  • 6 A DAY??? Geezus, no wonder they are so expensive, I'm all for "made in the USA" but this is ridiculous. Surely there are faster and more efficient ways of making these. Also, notice this video only shows the ASSEMBLY of said panel and not the actual manufacturing process which is what I was actually interested in?

  • That voice is Napolean Dynamite...

  • solar panels is the answer for future human energy

  • We are researching right now what is the best method to provide clean electricity for human society. From what I heard, solar panels are really expensive to buy and install. I do not know if that is true. I saw a 4x4 solar panel piece for sale at my local auto parts store (Autozone) for sale for $199.99.

  • "diy solar panels"

  • How old is this? It seems educational AND from the Discovery Channel. No way it could be from the present day programming. Either this is ancient footage OR this is a fake.

  • this is just assembling of solar panels....

  • only 6 a day seems like a very small company........

  • Merry Christmas Y'ol!

  • Britain is the fastest growing solar market - thanks to generous feed-in tariffs that encourage its adoption

  • That production is old school. Our crew just produced 115 panels double that size in 8hrs!

  • lol Flop! handled with great care.

  • I HATE this guy, where is the original guy? thats what i liked about the show. ffs. take letterman out of his show and replace him while you are at it

  • @ekim051084 Actually, this is the original guy (Mark Tewkesbury), who was the narrator for Season 1.

  • What about the first steps?

  • nowadays at least, this things are built in series with little to no man involved...

  • @xouric0 How do you feel solar panel technology will improve with Solar Collection Advancement? I thought I heard the NASA Program Technology is far better than what is being 'Made' Publicly Available?

I also wonder what the True -Cost of Manufacturing- is on one of these?? Is it Really PUBLIC Knowledge?

I was told the wind turbine grids are a Hoax/Non Efficient, as well Climate Gate was a big Carbon Tax Scam

  • Thank you very much for sharing this video. Indeed, there is a lot of hard work which goes behind the making of these solar panels.

  • If your interested in solar stuff then take a peek at the models for sale on my channel..

  • 1. They only make 6 a day so they can sell them expensive.2. They don't hire more employees so they won't have to pay them.3. Bullshit these things take an hour to build.

  • They only work 6 hrs a day???? WTF!

  • The narrator has to be Canadian. SolDering!

  • 50% of the suns radiation is reflected back into the atmosphere ... thats for every single solar panel in the world.

  • Holy unnecessary, batman. The sun doesn't give a crap about how neat your soldering is...

  • 6? No wander China is world leader, they produce it serially...

  • @ANDROB3TA is that bad?

  • @thepeakoflife Is bad that the EU doesn't support this enough so that it becomes available more quickly for as many people as possible...

  • @ANDROB3TA well why should china and the other average joe countries look for a different source of energy while the leading countries hogs up all the profit and revenues from oil and other fossil fuels. we can't just blame only a specific nation but everybody in the capitalistic cycle. everyday we bust out our asses in innovation and development in the work force, but as each company got greedy for the past decades good men and women around the world are loosing their jobs.

  • @ANDROB3TA the day that we use clean energy is the day we run out of fossil fuels in the competitive state of the world. sure there are those who can just easily say yes to clean energy, but they're just 20% or less of the population. face it. it's in our nature to be selfish and greedy.

  • They are made manually??? An hour per panel????? I understand that unemployment is not desirable, but considering the urgency and the high cost of those panels, isn't it time to serial produce those? No wonder so few are in circulation!

  • @mercofspeech The manpower needed to make them is nothing compared to the cost of the materials. That's really the achilles heel of the current solar panel technology, purified silicon wafers are WAY too expensive.

Most investors interrested in the technology are just waiting until we get better designs or materials. That wait is probably going to pay off since things like nanowire "dirty" silicon cells and dye-sensitized cells are both much cheaper to produce and much more efficient.

  • @mercofspeech look at life from a business perspective,

it's just... scary how many thins start making sense

  • @mercofspeech well, if u were owner of multi-billion/trillion dollars oil company, would you let the mass serial production of those panels??? - the main world problem...

  • @McDjox But remember, the massive solar farm that was supposed to be built in Death Valley was cancelled due to environmental concerns. Sense some irony there?

  • @mercofspeech Big industries can't have that, NOW CAN THEY?

  • @mercofspeech They were made manually in 2007

  • @mercofspeech this is the old way , In china they are made my machine, but the raw materials are quite expensive.

  • Decent effort on the soldering! Loving those suction grips too.

  • hotest iron ive seen yet whats the heat ne1?

  • How do solar watches work?

We sell them on our eco site, but they dont seem to have panels?!?

    Answers would be greatly received...

  • its been here for such a long time and not much people uses it due to that hasty cost.

  • Great Video!!

  • haha great care 1:26

  • Good Information!

  • Shouldn't solar panels produce some energy from whatever light source it's exposed to? I mean, I got a cheapo china made solar charging flashlight, and I can expose it to any incandescent light bulb and it will charge in a while. Of course the efficiency is low but it does work.

  • @tekknorat yes.
