Morten really couldn't sing in the `80s (horrible, HORRIBLE live!), and he's even worse now... and he's singing his high parts in falsetto now (back then he was belting them). Oh well... he's middle aged... I'll cut him a break.

The Norwegian band a-ha has recorded, released and toured continuesly since 1985, wilth only a pause between 1994 and 1998. They have just released their 9th album in Europe and are going on a European tour this year and world tour next year. a-ha's newest album entitled Foot of the Mountain was #1 in Germany a few weeks ago and just reached # 5 on the UK album chart.

I liked it but I preferred the original: Morten's voice is more pure and crisp; in this video he sounds as if he's swallowing gravel. They still are brilliant (if not better!) musicians by all accounts, though: that's why they're my favourite band. Also Pal's hair looks really different: what did he do to it? I heard this song in the landing airplane during my first journey to Norway. The weather was bad, it was snowing, but when I sank through the clouds, I saw this coast, those houses and I fell helplessly in love with this country. And returned a lot of times...

Still when I hear it today, it takes me back immediately and makes me get goosebumps... =)

Th girl is Anneli Drecker. She is singer and keyboardist of another Norwegian band called BelCanto. In adittion to her own band she is also often used as backing vocalsit by many Norwegian bands.

Annelli participated in a-ha's tours between 2000 and 2002/03. She also recorded a duet with Morten Harket on the a-ha album Lifelines and also duetted with Morten on stage while performing with a-ha at that time.
