I was only a little child when the terrible revolution took place, but I have learned that he did like the jetset life that came with his crown. Indeed the few years I went to school in Iran we made a shool trip once to see couple of his palaces, which were amazing, even by todays standards. I think the biggest mistake Reza Pahlavi did was to be too outgoing and honest. He didn't hold back his opinons as a professional politician, which he wasn't.
