This the one of the best tributes yet. He was and still is a inspiration to me. Looks like he was a
good Dad and family man. He proved you don't always have to sing about drugs and sex etc.to be great. God bless and keep Michael Been. May he rest in peace.
MB was never shy to share his faith in Jesus Christ and the fact that he was born again. Unlike Bono and other psuedo Christians in the public eye playing in a secular market, MB was upfront about what he believes to be the most important thing in life. I applaud him for that and for the impact the Call's music had on me as a teen and now into my late 40's
I don't know how I missed his passing a year ago. I still listen to his and the Call's music several times a week. It is real and timeless. As was Michael himself
Heartwarming. That's all I can say. One year later and we still remember him, he's never left us. Thank you so much for posting this up, it was beautiful. I hope you don't mind if I post it on my Facebook profile to make a small tribute to him.
This is just truly extraordinary. I'll never be able to express to you how much getting to spend time with this tribute has meant to me. Such an extraordinary man. God bless you for everything!
This was really nice. Its March, 2011 and i just found out about his passing. Also i didn't know that his son was in Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. I never could find stuff about him and The Call. I think there's another band calling themselves The Call.
Now THIS. . .is a TRIBUTE. One of the finest I've ever seen. . for any artist. A wonderful filmatic calendar of Michael Been's life. From his early days to his death. We were the same age. Viewing this just reinforces what we all should embrace. . life is fragile. Live each day to the fullest. The Greeks have a saying about a man/woman when he/she dies. It's not "how they did in life that mattered. But it was living life with . .passion." To that end I'd say Michael Been did.
i'll miss you my friend, such a talent & artist with words that could cut to the bone or fulfill your wildest dream. for 20 years in the early 70's till the early 90's i had the honor to associate with moby grape, the jerry miller band, airtight, & the call. you will be missed but not forgotten ... your friend barry albright
Thanks, Carol, and Robert and whoever else helped to put this video together. It is really a wonderful piece of work. I've watched it three or four times now and it never fails to bring back all of the things that I loved and admired about Michael...and, of course, good times...
Beautiful tribute. I'm in tears and I didn't even know him personally but he looks like he lived a full and rich life. RIP Mr. Been. Your memory will live on in the music you created and in the hearts and minds of all of the lives you touched.

One of a kind who wouldn't trade deeper spirituality for wider recognition. This video was really helpful.
