Lafayette High is an amazing, wonderful band full of kind, wonderful people. They have gorgeous sound and marching technique. Great job guys. Can't wait to see you next year.
I go to Fontainebleau and let me tell you, LHS is NOT arrogant. This is Louisiana, no school can afford bribing judges. LHS band members pay for all of their expenses just like FHS does; not the schools. Lafayette is down-to-earth and knows how to win, by doing THEIR best and working hard. Look at their marching without a closed mind, its amazing! I would be disappointed if they did any less because if we were to beat LHS I want it to be because we fought for it, not because it was given to us.

We congratulate every band that we meet, we tell other bands good luck if they are about to perform, we don't even go into Showcase with a "we know we're going to win attitude." We wouldn't care if we lost. For us, Showcase is all about coming together as a band family and enjoying the time we have spent working together and the memories we have created and the appreciating the people we're with because we'll never have the same people together ever again.

@tblade92 Lafayette High is not an arrogant band. Obviously you are an idiot. The directors and the students are very gracious. The LHS band has played Carnegie Hall and competes in BOA. They receive very high marks and have been rated as high as 12th in the nation. You need to get your facts straight. They also produce more Louisiana All-State band members than any other band in the state. They have freshman playing 1st chair. We are proud of the LHS band and the great feeder schools.

Keep the negativity and whining to yourself please. This show was the most difficult show LHS has ever done and the band learned to work at a much higher level. That, in itself, deserves to be celebrated.
@Lacrosse Although it was 20 years ago, Acadiana and Comeaux, ED White all consistently made finals at BOA. Acadiana placing 3rd in 1984. I agree that LHS is the best in LA right now, but what is that saying??? When we(any LA band) compete nationally however, well, that's another matter. I know LHS is still languishing in a 12th place 2008 Nat finish, but honestly, that was a down year. LHS will have my respect when u go to San Antonio or St. Louis BOA and make top 5.
This show won because it contained the best marching and playing. I can see where people would think otherwise, as it was not the most crowd pleasing. It is a boring show for people who do not truly understand the art of marching band. That is why they are not judges. My band has improved so much over the past couple of years largely because of the standards that this band sets for us, and I thank them for that. To those in the program, don't listen to these haters. They're probably just jealous

I'm from Fontainebleau and I can say it was a nice show. I wish I could have seen the entire thing in person. A bit slow-paced for my taste, but I like it. Beautiful music. The Ragin' Cajuns thing covers up the girl in white :/

@RedditFTW We don't go to nationals to win. We go to do our best. Winning isn't important to us, the main thing is to show everyone what we can do and get comments from judges on how we can improve. We work hard for every performance. We don't work hard because we want to win (no matter the competition...) So, if you don't like what we do, that's your opinion; but you don't have to leave comments like that.

I was Drum Major for 3 years at NISH and we got as close as 3rd to you and Comeaux in 1998.
