  • K.L> flooded

  • I live in malaysia.i love going through this tunnel

  • The 1st ever in this planet... no case study & anything is possible. Anyway ...wait for the 2011 flood (once in 40 years..previously 1931 & 1971). Anyone ready for it???? ..

  • im using this tunnel everyday~ it cost me RM 2 to use this tunnel~

i enjoy it. cause i skip all those stupid traffic and horrible sun light

  • wah,,hebat!! tapi bile la gaknye eh,,warga malaysia sendiri boleh bina struktur gitu..?? klu stkat jadi mando..mne2 negara pn boleyy..

  • i"m malaysian. representative of malaysia, i'm proudly invite people all over the world to visit malaysia. totally its not bad as us, uk, paris, german, korea, and others.

  • as a malaysian,i am honored

  • 1st in the world malaysia "smart" tunnel made by malaysia government. Do you think Malaysia government so smart?

  • well, once again my country indonesia is left behind in terms of technology from malaysia. Damn!!!! my country Indonesia still dont have any idea how to overcome the flood problem, and we as a people have to suffer over and over again when the flood is coming, my government is so fucking stupid, they dont do shit to overcome this problem

  • i'm proud with this SMART tunnel. once again Malaysia is in the eyes of the world.

  • that just sounds like it wont work lol

  • The Smart Tunnel looks good on paper. But until it has been tested and proven capable to channel away flood waters,it remains just a very, very expensive tunnel for vehicles. Many cities in other countries have such tunnels built at much lower costs.

  • it is the first in the world if I can correct you!

  • To alepbing, your comment shows the dimwit in you.The crux of the whole thing is this - Is the so-called Smart Tunnel effective in channeling away flood water from KL city? What is certain is that the tunnel must be closed to traffic minimum 4-5 days for cleaning purpose each time it is used to divert water. That,in itself,is not smart but utterly 'Stupid'; only the inept and corrupt Malaysian government would pay billions of dollars for that 'faulty' design.God save Malaysia.

  • The tunnel only closed for at least 45 hours after a flood. It doesn't requires to 5 days to clean it. As for the cost, its better to pay something that helps to keep the economy at KL at the "GO" rather than the flood paralyzing KL economical center.

  • kucai222,you can try to lie but the KL folks know the truth. After a heavy downpour recently, 'Smart Tunnel' was closed for 5 days. There should be a public inquiry to investigate this dubious project which will bleed the Malaysian public for many years to come.

  • the 5 day is due to inspection to make sure there is no problem at all, after that is onlu 45 hours. Next time read the news.

  • owh btw, in the inspection they found numerous cracks around the tunnel and have to fix it in time, this is due to heavy pressure while water was on the second level, but its not a big deal though coz they already fix the cracks. If there is more cracks then they have to close it for a long period of time again ( Just found out about this so i have to agree with mclenptp about the 5 day maintainence )

  • fairandjust, i hope you i can correct you that SMART was closed for 5 days once. for inspection of the cracks. and now, it is closed for 2 days if there is any flooding. and no doubt it works when there is no more flooding in the city centre, and the main idea of it is to end the flooding, NOT MAINLY to ease the traffic.

  • SMART is really smart!

  • is there any full video of this... urgent...

  • proud to be malaysian!!!

  • excellent flood management, cool thinkin ahead KL!

  • cool!!!
