This is actually a bad technique. If your expecting to be doing a LOT of rope climbing (ie. military course) especially when wet, then your gonna damage your leg quite quickly. Instead of starting with the rope behind the leg, have it in front.
I signed with the Marines not too long ago and I leave for recruit training in June right after graduation. I was a little worried about the rope climb... well, because I've never really climbed one before. Didn't know any techniques. But your video was thorough. I like how you broke it down slow enough for me to watch every step. Thanks for posting :)

put your arms as high as possible and pull yourself up with your belly muscles. then repeat that till u reach it.
