no the black scorpion was ole anderson he created the whole consepted he did the voice but flair was the one under the mask at starrcade it was a stupied idea all because ole was upset with wcw vp Jim Herd that how the black scorpion was created and herd was out the door almost soon after flair left with the belt to the wwf.

Al Perez was supposed to be The Black Scorpion, but he backed out at the end. Steve Williams or the Angel Of Death would have been great for the role. The angle was good, it was the result that was a fiasco.

@NWA1985WCCW Well, what happen is Ole start the gimmick but he needed some time off for some reasons, so he been replace by Al Perez which did not like the gimmick or the role of it (somehow, did not fit him) so it did pass to several other wrestler until Ole was back... But he soon injured himself (great!...) so it have to be replace be Flair or Barry Windham.

In other word, I think it did not work like it was suppose to and it been aborted because it started to look cheesy.

Flair was always the Black Scorpion. Remember he was a babyface(fanfave). During pay-per-view he was attacked outside by Doom. Everyone thought he was done for night. He didn't even wrestle that night as planned. Then cage match with Sting, Showed creative side of early WCW until Idiots starting running it(Dont get me started) LONG LIVE JCP TULLY AND DUSTY RULE THE 80's.

The black scorpion wasn't originally meant for Flair. It was written for the Angel of Death, who was not with WCW at the time. WCW started the angle, but Angel never signed.

Angel of Death was with WCW. The Powers of Pain (Barbarian & Warlord) leave to go to WWF and left Ivan Koloff behind..Koloff then wrestles with the Russian Assassin (Angel of Death) as the Powers of Pain in the WCW

banner and the game...no offense but you guys should learn YOUR history. The Black Scorpion was always meant to turn out to be Flair. Al Perez was only used to play one of the scorpions that did the black magic. Warrior was just a rumor to throw people off track. the reason why they used different guys to play the scorp is bcuz flair had to wrestle every night that the scorp made an appearance

I was a JCP junkie. This was best angle since Tully and Magnum. Flair was a babyface on this pay-per-view. He was attacked early on in show. He had a angle with Doom.Always knew it was Ole's voice. Great stuff from vignettes. Followed Angle from September to December. First Starrcade held in December. Thanks Jim Herd and Big Ted.

Hey, shouldn't it be "African American" Scorpion? Heh Heh Just kidding. This was a pretty good angle, but it kinda' dragged. And it's obvious it wasn't always going to be Flair, because one time when Sting got attacked by Scorpion the guy is clearly a little taller than Sting, not obviously shorter, like Flair. Oh well... fun stuff for the memories!

Yeah, because it's Ole Anderson's distorted voice. He was the head booker of WCW during this people, and Bischoff gave him back this position in 1993. He created, and did the voices, of both The Black Scorpion and The Shockmaster when he debuted as well.

No,Scorpion was supposed to be Ultimate Warrior,but they couldn't steal him from Vince,so they went with Al Perez,who backed out of the deal,so they had no choice but to use Stings' arch-rival Flair.
