  • !!!WOW Holy fuck!!! A Super Skynyrd Fan from decades ago and this performance is a first heard an seen for me. In the UK Ronnie even sounds British.

  • Everytime I hear this greatest song, I love my life so much! Thx for posting this! I think that BBC Old Grey Whistle Test 1975 is very rare.... I want it now :)

  • I don't particularly like punk, but after seeing this I can understand why it happened.

  • @TerryNutkins80: punk had nothing to do with lynyrd skynyrd, punk was against over-produced bands of the time, which doesn't include skynryd in the slightest...

  • @PooPoo2U ....................free bird is the complete embodiment of extravagant big rock bands. compare this song with "I like food" by the descendants.

  • your a freebird ronnie

  • I don't know if age has anything to do with it or it is due to injuries sustained in the plane crash in '77, but Gary Rossington played better on Free Bird back then than he has in more recent years.

  • how better?

  • Two questions. wat city is this in. and is that artisimus pyle on the drums?

  • Two answers.

    London, Yes.

  • thanks

  • No prob. FYI, it's Artimus though, not Artisimus.

  • thanks for the spell check....i am not to good with names

  • great band reminds of Thin Lizzy and Allman Brothers love Allen and Rossingtons conflicting styles

    Rossington=smooth

Allen=faster but less smooth but great repeating licks

  • This performance is now legendary in the UK! This made us take note of US music at the time and it still holds resonance now. Fucking amazing!

  • @archive303 ledgendary, maybe. but it is not rvz. 'tis the voice whic makes it work --or not.

  • Ronnie doesn't sound like himself. Must have a cold or sore throat. The freebird version when they were in Oakland CA is MUCH MUCH better.

  • I believe he had a bruised voice box or something...

  • @TheFozz44 he had a hell of a cold

  • link? it seems i can't find it

  • Leonard skinard was the bands' english teacher at school and that is where they got the name from. They just changed the vowels in his name to ys!!

  • @chamdav06: actually, leonard skinner was his name, and he was the gym coach

  • thats the confederate battle flag because these gents were from the southern united states

  • 2 guitarists, different but still working!!

u can just tell king is missing...

go allen and gary!!, my tied for 2nd of my favorite guitarists!!(2nd only to duane allman)

  • I think that this piano intro is better than the organ intro on most studio versions.....comments?

  • yes

  • Piano sounds good all the way through too

  • Pucha' desde el primer momento que vi y escuche esta cancion, me di cuenta que es una obra de arte. Sinceramente espectacular!!!!!

  • this ia an awesome show!!!! THANX for sharing....AWESOME BAND, too!!!!!!!!!

  • and soon afterwards a plane killed a great band

    life sux

  • I've never seen this before! Thanks for sharing it!

  • whats with the confederate flag in the backround?

  • it's their tradition and their heritage--

  • Great concert.

  • i wish i had been alive for that...

  • I was but I wasn't allowed to stay up and watch it. :-( I remember peeping round the door and listening in ... for aboy 10 seconds before being sent back to bed. Our telly was still black and white!!!
