  • I play the sicilian as black all the time now, but I don't think 3.Bb5 will work very well on. I play the Sicilan Defence Nimzowitsch variation e4 c5 Nf3 Nf6! It's got some similarity to the Alekhines defence...

  • I don't mind when white takes on c6. the doubled pawns are fine.

  • Chandler Murray is an awesome player and author.

  • It's Murray Chandler, not Chandler Murray

  • Sicilian is to be played for black: 2c5 3d6 and not 3nc6!

Although what you says is interesting, it has not much to do about the Sicilian has it is played today!

  • exactly!

  • no... 3. d6 leads into the classical, najdorf, or dragon variation. 3. Nc6 can lead into other variations.

  • 2.Nc6 leads to the sveshnikov, and if White is not well prepared it's a very difficult opening to handle. That's why 3.Bb5 is very annoying for black, at least, that's what I feel as a sveshnikov player.
