  • great thanks

  • shit

  • Where`s the rest?

  • I still think Jake is by far the best Guitarist Ozzy ever had since Randy died. Zakk is decent, but doesnm't have Jake's passion or sense of creativity. Plus Zakk leans on his endless pinch harmonics WAY too much. Jake is a awesome guitarist period, and I think the best album he ever created was Badland's debut. As a sidenote, I love how Bark at the Moon was almost patterned after Diary, the way Max Norman produced it. For me, that is the last "real" Ozzy record. Peace. -dave

  • @1970borntorun

I've had endless debates stating the same thing,, Jake was a great replacement period! Zakk is the the god of pinched harmonics and the pentatonic, but Jake's song writing and creative soloing fit Ozzy's style like a glove. Zakk get's a lot of credit (which he deserves), but Jake deserves more than what he got. And as for Badlands, for the people that never heard that album, you are truly missing out on Jake's diversity.

  • @1970borntorun i agree i always loved jakes playing after randy....

  • @1970borntorun I agree 100% , highly underrated guitarist.

His live solos with ozzy blow my mind

  • This is not accurate at all...THIS CLIP is from the VHS video BADLANDS - DAG THE GIBBLETS that was releases during BADLANDS - VOODOO HIGHWAY CD in 1991 and has nothing to do with OZZY

  • 0:45 "What's going on?" ?? Or what? I can't hear, nor tell what he's saying?

  • gay

  • @IvanEatsCandy

    Why you think so?

  • Hit parader was a good music mag in the 70s. I remember cutting out the pictures and postering the bedroom walls with them.

  • @SirQ4 The Allrosa Villa in Columbus, Ohio... RIP Dimebag.

  • @SirQ4 iBadlands is Awesome too

  • @TheKajuTiger What about the diagonal single coils? I haven't notived many guitars with those.

  • does anyone know if this is on any of badlands cds and title

  • @esh0777 voodoo highway

  • 0:50 explains in action the word "cool" ;)

  • I'm the glad the era of wearing black hats for guitar players is over. Jake didn't need that to look cool. His chops do all the talking.

  • Hey look it's Stevie Ray Vaughan

  • You fucked up.

Ozzy was with Zakk in '89

    Ozzy wasn't there.

Don't look like any studio i was ever in.

    Try again

  • Who's the fucking choad in the begining??? That's why metal was gay!!! Jake roolz!!!!!

  • can anyone tell me what guitar is this?

  • @Pana6Ion

    Charvel

  • @raunchymac Guess again it a 75 strat modified by Charvel

  • @mrdouglas51510 The guitar he is playing HERE, is a Charvel built from the ground up. The guitar he is playing here was done completely in the Charvel factory and was just modeled after a "superstrat" that Jake played in the past (Made by Wayne Charvel). This guitar is 100% Charvel, just made strat-like. This guitar was made and assembled by Grover Jackson himself and was one of the first guitars to be made in the new Ontario, CA factory. I was there and watched my dad paint the body.

  • @Pana6Ion It's 1975 Fender strat with a hard tail bridge modified by Charvel

  • @mrdouglas51510 Wayne Charvel made a lot of strat copy bodies and necks in the 70's. One of EVH's bodies was a factory reject that Wayne practically gave to him. None of the parts, bodies or necks on Eddie's or Jake's guitars were "Fender" made, they were all made by Wayne and later on Grover. After Grover bought out Wayne, Grover hired my dad to help with the shop and eventually let him run the assembly and paint stations.

  • @cbond99 Well you're half right about Eddie's Frankenstrat. I know the Frankenstrat, and Wayne Charvel/ Grover Jackson story well it's the stuff of legends. Yes Frankenstrat was a Charvel second (it had a knot in the body ) and the neck is Charvel.. But the original tremolo was from a 57 Strat and was later switched to a Floyd Rose for the VH || tour.... I can give you a rundown if you would like.... I know the guitar well, from the Sears Silvertone knobs to the bike reflectors on the back

  • @mrdouglas51510 You are right about the Fender Trem on Eddie's guitar though, even though it could have been a knock-off that Wayne had lying around. But all bodies and necks were Wayne/Grover-made Have a good day. Take Care

  • @cbond99 The guitar Jake is playing here is a mid 70's FENDER STRAT neck and body.... The only thing Charvel on this is the bridge and Charvel painted it because it had become beat up.... The pickups are DiMarzio SDS-1's..... Do a little research on both guitars and I think you will find that I am absolutely right

  • @mrdouglas51510 Painted bridge? I'm not going to argue. I don't have to research. Half of what is on the net is heresay and conjecture anyway. I held this guitar in my hands (or one EXACTLY like it). Grover made 3 guitars for Jake EXACTLY like this one. One before Ultimate Sin tour, one after and one during this time(Badlands sessions). BEFORE all that, Jake was playing the "piece-part" Superstrat.

  • @mrdouglas51510 I have nothing to gain by trying to convince you, But look at the guitar on the Bark at the Moon video and you will see that this is the piece-part Superstrat that Jake originally had and wanted the Charvels modeled after. The top and bottom horns are slightly different from the 3 he had made by Grover. My dad worked at Charvel/Jackson for almost 15 years and I met Jake in 1986 when I was 15.

  • @mrdouglas51510 I heard it was a Charvel Neck bolted onto a Fender Strat body

  • i musta missed the part with ozzy in it.

  • stevie ray lee :)

  • was that hendrix ;)

  • this was not in a studio, it was at a soundcheck before a show.

  • @pumpo64 And sadly under-recognized as such!

  • @SirQ4 I must have seen him on a bad night. He was terrible. His playing was very sloppy.

  • hahaha sweet the dudes cut off is kick ass \m/ bring back the 80s jake e lee is the man!!

  • Badlands is an amazing band... They're the Zeppelin of the late 80s & early 90s but heavier

  • I saw Jake and Badlands at Rock n Roll Heaven in Toronto back in 1989. He was my hero - until I saw him play live. That guy was the worst live guitarist I have ever seen. He actually sucks. I was devistated. I will never forget; his roadie came out to do a sound check. The roadie was actually really good. I was thinking: holy shit if the roadie is this good, Ican't wait to see Jake. Total turd.

  • Dude, I would tape this show back in the day.

  • Wow I remember seeing this on tv when i was a kid........ it came on at 11:00pm and was called "the heavy metal melt down" cool shit

  • I know his Charvelized Fender has really thin neck, as i read he actually shove the neck himself to make it thin!

Don't know if this is why he can bend so low...

I actually tried to bend mine, no matter how hard i cant bend that low...

  • wow it's a video magazine!

  • This is incorrect..this is from the video BADLANDS - DAG THE GIBBLETS..so you know..please correct the info!!!

  • @guitarmaster123445 second one of the two.

  • haha yea i bet he broke a ton of necks doing that

  • Comment removed

  • @tpain2345... just push the neck forward while your right hand holds it down on the body but you will mess up the guitar's intonation when done frequently.

  • @tpain2345 Not positive but im pretty sure its because the whole guitar is just a really crappy quality guitar that he modded the fuck out of. I know on my cheaper guitars the tuning will literally change when i go from standing to laying down with it because of how bendy the neck is.

  • @tpain2345 I read that Jake used to unscrew the neck a bit in order to get that effect. In my opinion, all that isn't necessary considering they invented something called... what is it? FLOYD ROSE? Maybe someone should tell him that. Great guitar player, but no need to damage the guitar that way for a simple effect.

  • @elsupernico28 a floyd rose will create a artificial harmonic/feedback effect by just actuating it? you're a goddam idiot.

  • @elsupernico28 yes, but Floyds have a different sound altogether - one that Jake probably didn't like.

  • @tpain2345 i recall slash tellin a story when he was doin that and the neck of his LP stanpped and a string came up and split his lip open

  • @tpain2345 Hes bent the neck so many time its easier to bend than most hahaha!!

    Jake loves his charvel!

  • @tpain2345 hes worked tht mother effer

  • @tpain2345 I do that on my Les Paul too. You bend the top part of the body where your strap connect above the fretboard towards you and it drops the pitch.

  • @tpain2345 he probably goes from on top of the nut and bends. not 100% but thats what it seems like to me

  • @tpain2345 by bending the neck you faggot!

  • @CaptainNensho fuck you
