  • Sam, look at this vid. When you say you are assuming your stance and you are looking at the object ball, you are, in fact. looking at the cue ball....Then, you actually look at the object ball. I do respect you. Just saying.

  • @madmex1000 I guess Wu Chia Ching's foot position isn't right either ...damn...

  • der

  • i know what my eye pattern is... hehehe

  • Did anyone notice how her stroke wobbles with every back stroke. she even cheeted the pocket on the first shot in the side. She needs her work on her feet position so her arm dosent have to come around her body. Bad Stroke Equals Bad Shot!

  • @madmex1000 u cant see the pocket in the first shot ._. also i dare you to try talking while stroking. i guarantee ur shot will not be even 80% as straight as when u are dead silent. but i wont argue that feet position is irrelevant, just saying give her a break lul.

  • @josephroxursox if you dont think foot position is important than there is no point in trying to educate you. #1 dont need to see the pocket to tell she is streight in, at 57 sec into vid she tell you and just befor she shoots she is perfectly streight in her sighting, after the shot the cue ball is not in the same line cause she was not strocking the cue streight, look at vid between 57 sec to 107 seconds. look where the cue ball ends up. then go buy THE SCIENCE OF POCKET BILLIARDS

  • @madmex1000 let me tell you my words that i said exactly "but i wont argue that feet position is irrelevant" where did i say that feet position is unimportant? also, if u insist that it is pointless to "try to educate me" then why did u write a big ass paragraph to try to sound like a smart ass? enjoy the video or dont comment at all. seriously get a life.

  • @josephroxursox #2 if you look at the vid at the 104 - 121 seconds, look over her shoulder and you can see her elbow pointing to her left not streight, that tells you that her feet are not right. she is shooting around her body. billiard 101 arm and cue should be on same plane from shoulder to the tip of the cue. if you cant shoot streight what good does "Eye Paterns" due for you if you cant hit where your looking. She is a nice kid, i meet her a couple of time, I gues those who cant, teach

  • object ball object ball object ball, cue ball, cue ball, cue ball, shes dumb,80 percent of the time ur eyes are on the contact point..

  • ..i would like to point out that sinking a ball is definitely the aim of the game, however just putting in one ball then having a shot that is near impossible to hit could have been avoided by hitting the same ball but in a different way so the cue ball lands in a better place for another shot

  • i wish i wer the guy in the back of the room at 1:01

  • wow thanks Samm Diep that was really cool =D

  • iPattern is a new apple product

  • i wanna take her to the action room, she can pocket my balls

  • I agree with this method. I use this method of aim preparation and swear by it. After over 40 years of playing I have not found any better method.

  • Kansas in background.

  • WOW!! I like. I feel I even learned something while doing all that liking. A sense of calm and a sense of know while as she pulls the trigger. Pulls the trigger? Can I say dump the bucket? Oh well... whatever; I liked the lesson, thanks.

  • my eyes are locked on your ass lol

  • Great good lesson and don't pay attention to all this 5 year old.

  • Start and finish with my eyes..... on the object boob. Then pull the trigger

    Got it Samm

  • Mr. chewies pool hall!

  • Better still, let Michaela Tabb give this lesson in a low top.

  • l'll shoot my stick inside her bridge anyday ;-)

  • hawt!!!!!!!!

  • she's hot! I like to play with her! haha! lol

  • Oh my god , this woman is a very pool best player

  • y wasnt the camera behind her??

  • Looks like that guy in the background has his eye on something else, huh?

  • 0:53 looks like that guy in the background has his eye on something else, huh?

  • thanks for not being like Dean's pool tips. that guy is killing me.

  • stroke it :)

  • i love her shirt

  • i want her! in bed!

  • I wanna try her at home ...Ill show her a pattern

  • she can stroke my cue anytime :)

  • wish she would stroke my cue... lol

  • its better to sex you at the table =)

  • Eye control and breath control are certainly as important as cue ball control when it comes to potting.

  • The Billiard Sanctuary DVD's explain all 3 eye patterns extensively in Volume #2 with graphics explaining each one and the distinction between each throughout the stroke. I highly recommend checking them out!

  • it doesnt alwys work like that because there are cut shots where the contact point is on the side and requires a shot that uses the side of the cue ball to make a tangent line to make correct contact, it took me a while to realize how difficult it was to get use to seeing that tangent line.

  • hot

  • yeah get down into the shot lol

  • shes hot

  • i was thinking the same thing lol

  • pretty good instructions....next time dont be around someone else playing. to much back ground noise

  • so just to let you know primitive i know her personally and she is a damn good player consistently finishing in the top 10 of almost any tournament she plays in, with men or women, she may not be a top pro but she has won the womens division of the bca championships and is a grand master bca and master vnea woman

  • Thanks

  • thanks..

  • helpful, thanks!

  • Heh, doesn't work for a bank shot.

  • shes pretty hott

  • @jamar1209 i know right she is pretty hot

  • @jamar1209 i wish she did a tutorial without a shirt

  • hmm...she sure likes playing with the cues and balls lol

  • Your back swing has a dog leg in it.

  • umm.....what does that mean???

  • Her back swing and release is a roundabout. Like a dog leg, not straight like an arrow. Her butt is to far out to give her a chance to get a pure stoke. She needs to look down at her stick and see her crookness of her swing.

  • so just to let you know primitive i know her personally and she is a damn good player consistently finishing in the top 10 of almost any tournament she plays in, with men or women, she may not be a top pro but she has won the womens division of the bca championships and is a grand master bca and master vnea woman

  • @PrimitiveJoe766 Pure swing? Even she says the way she plays is not the only way but that's the way she plays and she's very good. If you don't like it then go back to knitting sweaters or something!

  • yeah primitive she's got a stroke she'd probably get out on you right quick. I love the subject of this video. your eye pattern should be a solid part of your preshot routine

  • more cleavage please!

  • It's mostly for those that are either new, or play on instinct. I found it to be informative, which should help me not to miss shots that I should have made, since I'm the latter.

  • You missed the point. It's not about the shot, but about one method of looking at the contact points on both the cue and object balls. A lot of novices don't even consider how they approach this, so it's useful to have someone explain a method.

You can also use this method for more difficult shots, but of course not every shot. As with everything in pool, and in life, there is more than one way to acoomplish something, and not every method or technique applies to every situation.

  • And whats the object ball doing? Its not moving.. only your tip is moving relative to the cueball. Anyone who's taken marksmanship knows that the front site deserves 100% of your focus.. as would I say the cueball mainly deserves. Your peripheral should include your stroke, and your judgment should cause you to superimpose the DEFLECTED, FUTURE location of the cueball ON the corresponding location of the object ball that will cause it to be pocketed and the cueball to go where it needs to. :-)

  • deflection, veer (level cue masse) throw all have to be part of the FEEL segment of your aiming system. NO ONE can provide a system that encompasses the dynamics of said. You'll eventually just learn what looks right.. or not. I err on table length deflection estimates regularly.. and I do play pretty well. It will change with your cue, tip, weight of cue ball, and of course, the [off-axis x speed] will be the dominant force. 3 feet, power plus 2 tips of side = lots to compensate for.

  • Good subject; better if we asked ~10 good players what they do on a slight angle shot, cut shot, bank shot, kick, masse, and jump. The language to describe it would need to be good enough for people to independantly come to the same conclusion. Personally, I displace the cue ball over a portion of the object ball to create the trajectory to the pocket. On cuts, I aim edge to edge. On banks, I visualize the off-rail trajectory caused by incident+spin, and on masse, look solely at the cue ball.

  • What does the yellow line mean, under the red timeline on youtube videos? Is it when the video starts, and the intro ends?

  • advertisements

  • Her cue arm is bent - not in line with the stroke!

  • i need to have a match with sam diepp d bet is we had one night stand if i defeat him and if i lost she bj me..is there anysense?

  • Keep up the good work

  • Thanks!

  • very interesting. i'll give it a try next game. thanks.

  • wow that helps

    shes a cutie lol

  • nice stop shot you got there

  • i'll give it a try, i'll follow this advice and see how it goes

  • my eyes are locked on you samm ;)

  • @RogerThat5891 LUUUUUUUUL

  • very helpful to a beginning player

  • do you pro's ever talk about a "dominant" eye ? It looks like you shoot with both eyes over the cue, but a lot of players I see look out of one eye more than the other.

  • I totally disagree with this technique. This may work great with straight in shots but not with angle shots.Angle shot are deceptive especially the further your objective ball is away from the pocket.

  • the contact point for an angle shot is not deceptive because there is only one contact point per shot per pocket

  • One free lesson and there won't be any more. the deception is called squirt the further the ball is from the pocket use less angle cut and hit it with medium speed most of the time to account for friction on the table.

  • I hope everyone gets the HONOR of meetimg Samm Diep. I had the pleasure this past weekend and she is just pure delightful and beautiful. I always learn alot from her videos.

  • eye patterns? now I really have somethhing to work on

  • I've been playing for a good part of my life and never even thought of eye pattern. This is awsome! Thank you.

  • Thanx Samm! Great video. As a my trang dude that lives with all Vietnamese I have to wonder why you pronounce your name the way you do or did you anglonize it?
