Whoa. You made this way more complicated then necessary. I run a mail shop and deal with this everyday. First. You can try highlighting the entire zip code column and then apply the special zip code formatting. If that succeeds in showing the leading zeros you can simply save the file as a tab delimited text tile. This format will preserve the leading zeros and will not default back to general format when reopened in excel as the csv format will. Open and format to text with the wizard.
