how did you get this to work? I use the same setup, RF-602 / Canon 450D / 580EX II but when I hit the trigger button on the camera, the transmitter doesn't fire:( when I press the button on the transmitter the flash fires... looking at the external-flash on the camera I get an error message saying "This menu cannot be displayed. Incompatible flash or flash's power is turned off". what am I doing wrong? thanks!!
The error you see in the camera when trying to access the external flash menu is normal because you don't have the actual flash on the hotshoe.
Your first question, make sure there is contact between the middle pin on the transmitter and receiver. This is a known culprit eversince, with different transmitters. Good luck.
