When the light fades away, whats left? Darkness...so darkness can exist without light but same goes for the light. If no darkness is present, the light prevails. If they mix, it can't be immediately said as good OR bad. I've seen people tainted by darkness and people who except it. The results are different for both ways. If the darkness taints your soul, you can't go back. If you except it, you can go back. see my point? They can exist without each other or together.
