oh mygod. at 8:11 when the man asks freddie if he could end up an old man at 70, and freddie said no, oh man....who would've known freddie wouldhave been dead 4 years after this was made!
a very rare interview a very good interview , you get a glimpse as too who Freddie was, and its sad because at this point he knew his fate but still kept his head held high and just got on with his life he knew he was not going to live for much longer but it seems here that he is not scared at all of what lies ahead, it just shows how freakin brave this man was.
Lucky for him he's still making ppl happy long after his death! :) He may have died, but at least his music lives on. Did he know he had AIDS in this interview? Is that why he was so nonchalant about the death thing and no sex and even talking about AIDS?
I love his laugh! It's nice to hear him so happy and full of life :) His existence has made many people smile (and be happy, in general). This interview is just one of the countless examples.
I love hearing Freddie talk about how happy he was in his relationship with Jim (I guess he must be talking about Jim Hutton, here?) he really deserved to be happy, every single day. I love you you so much, Freddie. <3
Perfect example of a person who definitely didn't deserve to die young and from such a painful and protracted illness like AIDS. I know many people personally who bring nothing but misery to themselves and others and yet they're old, robust and not about to die any time soon. I don;t think that there's any rhyme or reason behind death.
he caught it in '86. he had it for 6 years, darlin. Jimmy told me. course he wasnt going to answer 'yes i have aids'. it would be an uproar. Anyway, David Wigg knew however, they were friends out of work.
freddie escaped a bit the question a bout aids but reading between the lines he basically said he has aids, i think he caught it in the ealry 80s probably in the us
He said he don't have aspirations to live to the 70...he knew he's life will be short...sad, very sad, although he seems so happy in this interview...
Dave Fuller: Do you know why Part one is no longer available? There seems to be several great interviews (like the Musical Prostitute series) that are no longer available. I hope these treasures are archived somewhere!
He already knew he is ill at that point. You can tell by what he's saying. "I've stopped having sex". "I live like a nun". "I've been extremely promiscuous, but stopped all that". Aren't you affraid to be lonely at 70? "I won't live that long.". Of course it all sounds quite humouristic, and it could have been a coincidence but everybody says he found aut in mid/early 1987 and this interview is from October 1987 so there is a high probability that he knew already.
Id have to agree with your assumption, he did know he had AIDS before this interview and you can tell he was trying to dodge the questions concerning where he would be at age 70. Also towards the end you can hear him basically summing up his life a complete.
freddie was one of a kind!some what selfish, but then again aren't we all!!having somebody to share your life with is more than just having sex....it's never having to say that i'm alone!!!that there will alway's be someone by your side....

This makes me so sad, but his laugh around 8:30 made me snort. He has an utterly gorgeous laugh. <3

you should have become a nun for a while, after all, Freddie! And stick to your word too: take less risks in social situations
