  • rather dashing fellow...

  • Post docs in Indian govt! Now we're talking.

  • i am a patriot Pakistani, nonetheless i admire Mr Tharoor's intellect and his yearning for truth. Good luck to you and best of luck to our future!

  • what a great interview. he's truly brilliant.

  • gr8 to se..., really we indians r proud to have such gr8 intellectuals in indian poltics...

  • Indian needs more westernized people like Tharoor. Needless to say that his intellect was developed mostly in the west -- just like that of Ambedkar.

  • The guy is one hell of an orator! and might i add a very good looking guy too!...

  • Wish we could clone Mr. Shashi Tharoor and send one to every country on earth. What a wonderful world it would be.

  • A shame and a loss, not for Mr. Tharoor, but for India as a country. It's just a massive massive loss.

  • PhD at 22 ?! and all the other qualifications and accolades, this dude's one heck of an over-achiever

  • 2 Masters Degree and a PhD by 22 years, including best student prize from Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.

Best selling, prize winning author of ten non-fiction and fiction books.

Superb orator, excellent command of English, Bengali, Hindi, French and Malayalam.

    High intellect; good looks, wealthy.

THAT'S ENOUGH FOR THE ARSE HOLE POLITICIANS OF INDIA TO BRING HIM DOWN. HE SHOULD HAVE STAYED IN UN-HE'S TOO GOOD FOR INDIAN POLITICS.

  • @alexshaun98 I think that's a good summation of the man. People speak about fishes out of water. I'd say that the water is now a lot more contaminated with his exit

  • i think shashi tharoor is really a very good orator and author , he can truly mesmerize people . he has got it but i dont understand one thing , why the hell are these people so corrupt , i dont blame mr shashi tharoor as 99% of all the minister we have in india are corrupt . i expect much more from people like him . he comes in the category of the great intellectuals we have in india . he can do wonders but i dont know where they all go wrong. 1 sec a

  • Shahsi tharoor is the only Indian politician with a great sense of humour and a vision of and for India! Thank god UN took that joker Ban ki moon and left Mr Tharoor for his country!

  • you forgot laloo...lol

  • Is that a freakin burp at 12:07!!!!! Rotfl!

And yea the music during the title sequence is awesome :)

  • articulate and beautiful conversation

he is a real hope for leading india into new millenium

  • Ack! What does eloquence have to do with leadership? That's a bizarre conflation to make. Anyway, there are *many* Indian diplomats who are as eloquent, and tons of non-Indians who are far more eloquent. For those interested, you may watch Tharoor being bitch-slapped by Christopher Hitchens, right here on Youtube. Time to pull your heads out of your backsides, people.

  • @raotejas Christopher Hitchens that drunk you mean?

  • "I write for the same reason the cow gives milk...". Brilliant speaker + intellect + good actions. Potentially, India's future.

  • It's a shame Ban Ki Moon became SG of the UN ahead of this guy.

  • he deserved it..Ban Ki Moon's resume is pathetic compared to Shashi's..Shashi's has experience in the UN for years, Moon was just a foreign minister..

  • @Dafob52 Yes, but Moon was backed by Rice and the bush administration! Big brother always!

  • excellent speaker...

  • I respect Arun Shourie more than these poeple for the reaosn when Indira GAndhi brought emergency he left hsi job in UN and went to India and started writign agaisnt emergency.. that's courage and conviction ..

  • excellent articulation, just came for a glance but seems like will end listening to the whole

  • i agree with and endorse mrgta2000's views

  • People like Shashi Tharoor elected as MP is greater hope for people of India. I saw an interview in CNBC in its program "Beatuiful People", which prompted to know more about him. PhD MP like him and PhD holder Prime Minister is greater hope for the youth of India.

  • @mrgta2000 @MelchBurg, US govt did not want someone who have their own mind like Tharoor and also one who is very articulate. They wanted someone who would go in line with american views of United nations and one with just a practical knowledge of English and Ban ki Moon was the best fit. Except for Russia none of the veto powered nation supported him including china which usually goes against US, decided to support US in this case.

  • SHASHI THAROOR is an MP IN CONGRESS . he is a new MP in CONGRESS for MONMOHAN SINGH 2009 new cabinet . he returned to india WITH SUCH ILLUSTRIOUS CAREER AND EXPERIENCE FOR CONFLICT RESOLUTION AND REFUGEE REHABILITATION OF REFUGEES IN WORLD

  • full of himself, isnt he...

  • don't feel inferiority complex!! i understand being under dog!! so cheer up! VOPPANAVARUN

  • hehe..maybe.. :)

  • Shashi Tharoor for Nobel Prize in Literature for his tremendous work "The Great Indian Novel"

  • Goodness gracious me.I don't think i've heard anyone so lucid & articulate in their thoughts.

  • I could only say that he is an embodiment of the epitome of eloquence.

  • Shashi Tharoor is Shashi Tharoor's favorite person.

  • hahaha

  • well said

  • what s stupid analogy...harshad mehta lol...one can only speak intelligently, articulately and eloquently when one has a wealth of knowledge and experience to back his talk..

  • even priyvrat gadhvi agrees...

  • Shashi Tharoor is awesome...rarely do we find someone so articulate and eloquent..the best indian speaker in the english language!!

  • well, even Harshad Mehta probably speaks good English...I am rather amazed by the wealth of his knowledge and his fascinating career and so on...

  • rajive gandhi was considered best english speaker in whole asia when he was alive.

  • are you sure?? I only remember his hindi " hamne dekha hai, hum dekhenge, hamein dekhna hai" speeches..

  • well what can i say thats what i heard while i was studying.
