It kind of reminded me of Midnighters by Scott Westerfeld only better. I agree with ShelbyLewis that you should write the fanfiction.

I went into the book stoe to get the midnighters, and they didn't have one copy lol. and there use to be this little kids book, where the clock would hit 13:00, and the thing that you loved most would be taken away from you. In the end this kid got his thing back, and that's pretty much where I got the idea, but I had to make it my own lol. Glad you liked it
