  • I agree ; on the ecostyler giving more hold and i use both but great video <3

  • Your Eco styler is 4 95. Ours is 2 99

  • what about Ampro Pro Styl Protein Styling gel? Do you recommend that?

  • Do you still use the ORS Edge Control and do you think the Eco Styling gel is better?

  • Elasta QP has a fabulous gel that you can get a Sally's. Its only $4 and it last a long time. I have natural hair and it works the best for me. I also have the Eco Styler gel but for me Elasta QP works best.

  • @ulovemegz what do you do for a living? seems like ud be a makeup artist or something

  • Comment removed

  • i went and bought some right after i watched this video and thank you this is the only gel that lays my edges down defiantly works better than olive oil edge control

  • That Eco gel is heavennnn! Thanks for the tip I love it!

  • There's also a blue Eco gel for color treated hair. That's my fav and my hair is always really soft.

  • Yeah. I like the argan oil one. Its gives a lot of hold! I have the big jar and I am the only one using it. So that is about a year or more worth because I dont use it a lot. I got the big jar at Sallys for like $3 bucks...cant beat it.

  • im surprised u didnt get the one w/ olive oil..i like that one

  • i found the eco styler gel aat dollar general for $2.49 its the olive oil one & its the 16floz size

  • I saw that cute little container when I was in Sally's. However, for 99 cents, it was soooooo not worth it considering how much more you get in the larger container for only $4.29 (even cheaper when on sale). I like all of the Eco Styler's, but the clear is my favorite scent. It smells so "out of the shower" fresh! Do you like EcoStyler better than IC Fantasia?

  • the aloe vera gel is not hair gel, its the kind you put on after a sun burn. the eco styler gel is hair gel.

  • I realized that you are the only relaxed youtuber/make up guru person that I watch and that sucks cuz I'm relax so I also go to you for hair videos which is a good thing..just wish there was other youtube people. :) keep the videos coming.!

I just hope you never go natural then I'm gonna lose hope lol

  • Do you still use ORS Edge Control? Just wondering how you feel about that product and if you still use it

  • how many weeks post are you right here? I agree with you, the aloe vera gel I have to use more of that product, when I use the fantasia IC gel i dont but it has a lil hardness to it afterwards.YES! stay away from alcohol! Thanks Megz

  • Love your videos!

  • It's good. I love it. I have the same hair texture as you, but I'm going natural, so it works well

  • I am staying away from the Eco Styler Gel. When I first started my HHJ I tried the regular black one and it gave me a serious case of the itchy scalp. It was so itchy I thought I was gonna die. To get rid of the itchiness had to wash my hair with shampoo twice in one week!!!

  • @ulovemegz

I promise I wantd to wtch the whole video but got caught up. You may have said it but does this gel harden the edges? will i stil be able to brush my hair?

  • @ulovemegz

Try the WEN hair cream gel. I think you will LOVE it. It works so well on my hair. I have no flyaways, it does NOT get hard, it has no alcohol and absorbs in to the shaft creating shine and providing moisture. It's made of essential oils and herbs :-)

  • Can u recommend a flatiron for me plz.i have relaxed shoulder length hair.thanks

  • Your amazing :)

  • I have yet to try a twist out, I love my braidouts though...which do you prefer? I worry that my hair is too fne for twistout?

  • I use both Aloe Vera gel and Ecostyler the clear one with white lid and I love them both. I tend to use the ecostyler more because it does have a stronger hold. And it last for a few days, if you tie your hair down, you don't really have to apply gel daily.

  • I SWEAR by this stuff. Using the scarf after you apply it, maybe for 15 minutes, ensures that your sides are straight. I love this stuff (I use the clear one).

  • do u like it better than ORS edge control?

  • Ok!!!! Love that little jar!!! Who carries that?

  • I tryed the Aloe Vera gel and im in the process of transitioning to go natural(4 months post relaxer) and it made my edges curl up! Lol, Im going to ty this one but in the mean time I'll just stick to my headband.

  • Question! a couple years ago my hair didnt process right when i relaxed it..now it's half way down my hair & its annoying! it's like a random area of poofy hair midway down my hair! I was thinking of relaxing that area only but never done that. what do you suggest?..i don't wana over process but .arrrgh the poof!lol

  • @fanatic709 she should b bout 3 weeks post I believe

  • @camille9311 yes megz did a trim.

  • megz how many weeks post r u? thanx for the review!

  • Did you cut your hair? It looks shorter to me

  • @Camille9311 yes i did i got scissor happy when i trimmed it

  • i like the yellow &it's for moisture retention & it has a hold of 8

  • I don't know, the whole concept of laying down edges, or slicking them down ... it just has that sweaty/oily look and it also makes the edges appear thinning, at least to me. I don't mind my frizzy edges whenever I do a loose bun or ponytail, I guess.

  • It seems you've been watching natural hair videos. Do you ever plan on going natural? just wondering

  • i used some on my edges yesterday before i went to work. I worked for 7hrs and when i came back home my edges where still slicked down! i love this gel i have the one with olive oil.

  • Megz I like that gel u get a super hold but im leaning more towards natural products, I use aloe vera gel n shea butter for my edges like meeka jael does it just use the avg then layer the sheabutter n repeat until u get the desired hold. Ur hair will hold all day, that eco styler gets my edges hard even using a tiny bit but I like it I jus put shea butter over it so it wont get hard.

  • @wunderfulymade I couldn't find it at Sally's so I went to my local BSS and they had it...also you can get it from Amazon.com for really cheap as well...it says the blue is for color treated hair but you can still use it with no problems if you don't have color treated hair...the hold is like a 5

  • is the aloe vera gel for hair only? or does it have other uses? because the eco styler gel is for hair use.

  • The blue one is for color treated hair has a hold of 8 the pink has a hold of 5 there is a black with protein 8 and one without 10 they also make them in squeeze it form which is where i saw yellow instead of a container

  • dead on with the review. i have used the eco and the fruit of the earth and the fruit of the earth really doesn't have much hold. I am natural and eco styler is a staple. So is Fantasia. I am running to Sally's for those little samples. Perfect for my gym bag. Thanks Girlie!

  • I wear my hair in a ponytail all the time and i think it's starting to break off from that :(

  • what type of work do you do

  • I been using that gel for years...even when i had my afro puffs....when i looked for gel i never saw the reason for it having alcohol...so i stay far from it....

  • I actually use both at the same time and it holds nicely without getting hard.

I also mix the aloe Vera gel w/ coco butter as moisturizing lotion for my body.

    Love it!

  • I have eco styler gel the regular kind. I've had mine for months and haven't used a lot of it, which I like. It will last for awhile. It doesn't cake up or get white.

  • I prefer the Olive oil one:)

  • @SuperSexxiE yeah me too I have the olive oil one havent tried the argan oil yet but the olive oil one is awesone

  • I am trying the argan oil version next..I have done the aloe and the pink (curl and wave). It does flake when u put too much which I do sometimes by using daily to get that super smooth effect but in small amounts its fine.

  • ECO Styler Gel is THE BUSINESS. if i dont oil my edges, they will stay flat and in place for two days straight. no lie.

  • Hiw cute is that little jar lol

  • cvs has it

  • If your edges are hard to hold down, try putting on your gel then tying a scarf around so that it presses your edges down. If you're leaving the house, leave the scarf on until right before u leave or until u get wherever you're going. This helps give me perfectly smooth edges especially when I'm stretching.

  • There's also a pink one and blue one. The blue is so moisturizing

  • I've been transitioning for 13 months and I started using eco styler argan oil gel SPARINGLY two months ago for my edges. The hold is great. I use a scarf to tie it down on my way to work to hold my edges down til the gel sets. However, the gel DOES flake up when you brush it the following day or that night sometimes. I find that if I wet my hair with water first, I don't have a problem.

  • @ulovemegz do you take your ponytail down before sleep and restyle in the morning or do you sleep with it?

  • @misslaydee where do you get that gel from?

  • Does it work if your hair is weeks post , such as 10 - 14 weeks post .. will it still hold down ?

  • @flawless0326 yes, it'll still work. just tie it down with a scarf until you get where you're going.

  • I love Eco Styler gel!!!! I used to use the green one and it worked great but it made my hair hard and crunchy even after I moisturized underneath...then the best thing came into my life and I haven't looked back since...it's the BLUE E-SG!!! It has a hold of like 5 and doesn't make my hair hard or crunchy at all and I use tons of it to define my curls...it works great :)

  • and the brownish color gel

  • I am so glad you made this video! Just last night I was searching your vids to see if you had done a review on this product because I was interested in trying it out! Thank you =]

  • I can't find a gel I really like for my edges. I'm natural and I used to like the eco styler. I tried the edge control and it's good except it slides down my face after about 15 mins. Sooo, my edges just look crazy most of the time. Thank goodness for headbands.

  • There are more than three there is a pink blue black with a white cap and black on black and I think yellow they have different holds and additives

  • @jazzyjthefrshprncss i need to find those

  • @ulovemegz try wal-mart

  • @jazzyjthefrshprncss The black one is suppose to be a protien gel, I know that but do you know what the pink gel and blue get suppose to be???

  • I use Fantasia IC gel. It works well, but I would like to try this at some point. :)

  • @Butterscotchchick that used to be my staple too before i tried the aloe vera gel and now the eco styler gel

  • @ulovemegz Cool. I used the Fantasia also when my hair was natural. It defined my waves and curls, and kept it all moisturized. It's in the Science Of Black Hair, so that's why I bought it again. :) The Fantasia has aloe in it, and there is now one with aloe and olive oil.

  • I bought mine last week. I love it! My hair was slick down. lol

  • Another great review. Thx Meg. :o)

  • this gel never seems to hold anything down for me :-(

  • The green cap

  • I looove that gel

  • did u ever try Olive Oil edge control or KeraCare styling wax stick?

  • @ThePrettypoison2 i only have the edge control and I use that on my edges when i have a heat pass

  • it left my hair white and flaky

  • @PinkisMe09 did u use alot of it?

  • @ulovemegz i used a good amount

  • very good video..by the way megz..i love your hair

  • GUUUUUUURRRRRRLLLL you betta get on that Eco Styler. You will be an Eco girl. Its bomb.

  • @AFRICANEXPORT

Does it crack up the edges ?? like where you can scrape it off ?

  • @ItsurGurlAshalay2008

forget that comment.......... i didnt finish watching it :P

  • @AFRICANEXPORT I am lovinggggg it so far!!!!

  • OMG..! YAY 2ND...!
