  • Never got over the great sax in this song.....it's what makes it.

  • This is from the 1958 movie Let's Rock! In the UK, it was released as Keep It Cool...

  • A Pre 4 Seasons (Jersey Boys) Bob Gaudio on the piano. The Soprano's Brian Wilson.

  • One of my colleagues played this in this classroom in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia a few months back. There was a religious policeman in the classroom as a student. Nothing happened except he hid his eyes. The guy had balls to do this in Saudi Arabia of all places! A few of the guys in the class were clapping along.

  • porn in 1958,heck in dubai india today that outfit would warrant a stoning, scandalous!!!

  • Like that - - porn in 1958!. . great. That shot of a guy looking from a balcony looked like Julius LaRosa, a famous singer at the time. By the way I'm told there were 3 girls outside the studio and they were asked to come in & sing. Don't know if it's true. . .someone will confirm/deny. Thank you very much taking time and trouble to posting. CFN

  • I love this, don't get me wrong, but I also want to present a short critique from the perspective of a mere 30 year old. There is a lot of great energy in the music, but the clearly over-dubbed performance is somewhat damaged by the general listlessness of its performers. Sure showmanship Was a bit different, but the dynamism of contemporary Little Richard shows offer a great counterpoint. And, tho I dig the classic Rock N Roll groove, and especially that saxophone, this is a very goofy song.

  • Bob Gaudio wrote Short Shorts...

  • Gaudio wrote the song....

  • i admire the quality of the videos. its verry good. how come?

  • A slight bit of comedy as the guitar player checks out the young lady at about 1:58 or so.

  • This looks to be from a movie. Singer Julius LaRosa is standing behind where the audience is sitting. I understand that the guy on piano is Bob Gaudio from the Four Seasons. I had this record when I was not quite 8 years old. I wish I still had it. This is the first time I've actually seen this group and what they looked like. Thanks so much for uploading this.

  • Corny as hell but a lot of fun. Speaking of talented musicians, I read that Al Kooper had some connection to this group. If anyone knows, please fill me in...

  • This band could really get down even though the song was innane and silly. The girl had nice gams too.

  • piano of Frankie Valli!

  • Where is Al Kooper?

  • Rock is dead, but it won't lie down!!

  • The piano player was Bob Gaudio who would later become an original member of the Four Seasons.

  • hHow in the world did you get Julius Larosas' twin brother to appear in the balcony?

  • @butch19571 Sure looks like him, too funny!

  • That girl is waaaaaaayyyy cool. She just so doesn't care. Surprised she bothered to walk on at all :D

  • Thats a killer sax solo.. ma man Bobby on the piano... the girl could have been cuter...=(

  • OK now which one is Phil Specter?

  • Wow, this song is very very catchy!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Billy Crandall nvr mind !

  • What is the name of the saxophone player ??!

  • so effin great !!

  • Absolutely!!!!

  • way better than any of the crap called music today.....

  • AAJJAJA ES GENIAAAAAAAAAAL!!!! JAAAAAAAAAAAAJAJAJAJJA

  • This release was really exciting back in 1958. The group went to record instrumentals as The Royaltones. Very underated. Thanks for posting.

  • Apparently, America was also into some really bad fashion choices about the time I was born. I remember Donna Reed and Dick Van Dyke and Mary Tyler Moore. This must have been the other side of TV viewing. I never saw this before. It is interesting.

  • like if you love her shorts

  • Is it possible? An amazing 50's song without any dislikes? Yes it is!

  • That's when it wasn't rock and roll unless there was a saxophone

  • I really like the man's suit that plays the saxophone and I think he's cute :D

  • And our music is stupid and pointless?

  • @bbwtalk Tell me about it. This song only had three complete sentences.

  • @ClarkeMarek Yeah, but this song actually has talented musicians rather than computers doing the work for them.

  • @bbwtalk yes

  • I for one think that the chick not only has great legs, but is real Hot looking!

  • I clearly rememeber this song way back in 1958 when I was only eleven years old. Just as the words on many grandfather clocks say Tempes Fugit (Time Flys)!

  • Let's Rock, 1958 Columbia release.

  • Sorta homely chick (in the parlance of the time) with average legs and chunky thighs. But love that wailing sax which i don't recall from the studio version that got played.

  • Sorry to report this but Bill Dalton, the guitarist in this clip, passed away Oct 8,2011. He will be missed.

  • @Raceresq1 Yeah, I knew him Bill Dalton from my church and just found out that he died.

  • lol got this stuck in my hed!

  • God I would kill to be alive even for a day in thsoe times

  • nice song!!!! luvit

  • ♪♫ Better listen to this ♪♫, not Justin Bieber

  • @Havk995 I heard this song back in 1958, and it stays in my head and heart.

Don't figure out my age, LOLOLOLOLOL.

  • Not bad for a song with only three complete sentences.

  • I love this song xD and yes i am 15

  • Now this is what I call bringing back memories ... yes, they were the good old days. You know you're getting old when you spend more time looking back at what was than forward to what's ahead. Oh well - did my time.

  • Love that popped up collar and balet slippers. VERY stylish for that period. Being from the south I always loved how they said, "Showat showats."

  • Not nearly "cheeky" enough.

  • the shorts are way too high, even by today's standards

  • What are the words to the third line? It sounds like Blair wears short shorts

  • Those shorts aren't short enough.

  • fat thighs!

  • @internationalgiant1 Not fat - healthy. They look pretty strong, and well shaped. Only by our today's standards are those "fat".

  • And that, kids, was what passed for porn in 1958.

  • is that a small dog barking

  • WHO WEARS SHORT SHORTS

  • HA! Is that Julius LaRosa at back of auditorium watching? And isn't that girl now the grandmother of the Jersey Shore fools?

  • @mikemcgann07 Yes you are right about that being Julius La Rosa. No idea about that girl being a grandmother to those Jersey Shore fools.

  • Lyrics of such power, of such deep meaning, of such great emotion that the man at 1:09 can only choke back his tears as his listens.

And I'm sure that anyone even today feels the same way as they watch and listen.

  • INOCENTES, AL LADO DE MADONNA SON HASTA INFANTILES

  • Some really deep lyrics, like John Lennons "Imagine"

  • South Philly for sure!!

    God I Loved This Song.........

  • @desert3347 Half the audience has a dripping Philly Cheese-Steak on their laps.

  • @zuzulo56 Agree! lol

  • My dad works with the singer now in 2011!

  • i liek that there long!! :)

  • the guys looked so cute! love the song!

  • She's Got The Moves!!

  • WAY COOL...5******

  • Check out the Drummer... plays Right handed But kit is set up for a left handed player.... CraZY!!!!

  • back then women use to be bulky

  • Good to know that no one in the 50's could keep a clap-beat.

  • my uncle gave me this link, because i wore shorts for the first time in 4 years!

  • man who is the woman in video she is so hottttttttt

  • is he even playing the piano O_o or just moving his fingers

  • Can anyone tell me what's the cute little dance that the short-shorts is doing? I think it makes the video. A nice swingin tune too. Thnx.

  • 1:09 That guy looks so bored.

  • Okay then...if Bob Gaudio, Frankie Valli, Tommy DeVito and Nick Massi were the original members, who founded the group?

Bob Gaudio was ONE of the founding members. I saw the play Jersey Boys.

  • The piano player who wrote this song is Jersey Boy Bob Gaudio who founded the group The Four Seasons.

The guy in the plaid jacket introducing the group is Charles Nelson Reilly from Match Game.

  • @MrWilliamtom bob gaudio isn't the founder of the 4 seasons...

  • @LUJANENSE Although he did write all of the music, he was not the creator.

  • @peacedude2196 agreed!

  • She has cute legs.

  • @gomezesmorticia yeah they had more thighs and ass back then... i want a time machine

  • @gomezesmorticia

    an short shorts

  • They sound singing group that consists of Lavern and Shirley and Lenny and Squiggy

  • She's not ugly. She is cute. Just an Italian from New Jersey, she looks like 2 of my ex wives.

  • Love this song the girls kind of ugly though hah

  • i actually met the lead singer who is playing the sax. im a conductor for NJ transit and he and one of the other original jersey boys were on my train, and they introduced themselves.

  • Theres something very east cost about the looks of the girl in short shorts. Love this video, never seen it before.

  • @rocksinger45 She looks Italian-American, very Queens :D:D

  • @sbchelldiver I was thinking Puerto Rican from the Bronx's :)
