"you've got to hang her! and i wanna be there to hear her LOUSY NECK CRACK!!!!!!!!" um....can we say psycho?! lol wow what a confession. he wasn't just a killer. he was like they said mentally unhenged. i cant help but feel just a "tad" bit sorry for him. he can't help it that he's coo-coo for cocoa puffs!
Agatha Christies villains always conveniently break down and confess at the end even though the detectives have not produced any proof that would satisfy a jury.
No offense but this adaptation is horrible. This story was a story about love, death, suicide and madness. Why the heck did they turn it into this? ):
Audrey starts off with Adrian, then marries Strange, then decides to run off with Adrian again, and then ends up with Thomas, Adrian's brother, just a year after Adrian's death? It's the stuff of soap operas.
This is the awful storyline as the screenwriters wrote it. The actual storyline written by AC is great!
Audrey was married to Neville but she sensed that he was a wicked man so when she could she ran away with Adrian. Unfortunately, Adrian died shortly after that. Neville got together with Kay to make it seem as he was the one who had left Audrey and not otherwise. In the end, Audrey meets a man who failed at committing suicide who helps her out of Neville's evil schemes.
Despite the fact that the literary "TOWARDS ZERO" was not a Miss Marple mystery, I must admit that this adaptation was pretty good. The only fly in the ointment was the ending. Thomas Royce ended up with the wrong woman.
@xxgeorgibunnyxx I agree that Geraldine McEwan was a great Marple, but I think Julia McKenzie is really great too... They each give a unique interpretation of the character and make her likable and compelling in different ways. It is hard to adapt to an new actress though, when you've grown accustomed to someone else playing the role.
I think I like this Miss Marple rather bettter than June Whitfield or even Margaret Rutherford, oossibly because she seems more motherly despite her maiden status.
I don't know what they were thinking. This book didn't even have Miss Marple. Neither did Ordeal By Innocence.
And Geraldine McEwan is NO Joan Hickson. Her Marple is so... twee and cutesy. She looks like a bunny.
Honestly, the denouement! When the villain started on the, "I'd have gotten away with it, if not for you interfering..." I expected Scooby Doo and the Gang to pop up!
@happybkwrm No, this Mrs Marple is sweet, but scary. Joan Hickson is just mean. No one would believe Joan Hickson would even bother to help anyone. She doesn't care about anyone. Besides, she is awful looking.
@lollipopfop I disagree. Joan Hickson was a very different actress and she brought her own style to the role. Each of the actresses epitomised Ms. Marple in many different ways.
me encanta la señorita Marple!!!....aunque no muy buena invitada a la casa de uno, por que siempre que esta cerca alguien muere, es casi tan yeta como la reportera del crimen!!....
"prehaps she eats her carrots" LOL been a long time since i have heard that one, my mother use to say that to me when i was littel + of course i fell for it!!
@charlotterochester Great observation! In fact, the film is worth seeing twice just to observe how Audrey behaves around Neville now that we know that she didn't want him back at all.
how cheeky you could be Miss Marple :D

You mean Julian Sands was in a movie where he wasn't the bad guy?! This is seriously playing with my sense of order in the universe.
