this is about as close as a group has ever done led zep if you listen to cd is better sound than this video.they are dead on with the songs but it doesn't hurt to have page playing either truthaxe u r dead on right about the crowes.!!!
Too slow. This has a musak sound to it. Typical sloppy Page solo with no attack. The riff and drums make this song. Page should have let professionals play all his music.
@TruthAxe I'll respectfully disagree with you. This track seems to work better than others in this set (eg Hots on for Nowhere which sounds like they've been trapped in quicksand). No one on earth can rock this track like Bonzo but I think Chris did a credible job with the vocal
@BoEmery Nah dude, its all about the moment, not about "trying" to sound like anything. He's just having a good time singing like himself and living this raw ass song,I love it.
I remember having tickets to this tour...and then I think Pagey had back problems or such (or so the fm dj announced) and the rest of the tour was cancelled. I haven't yet recovered from that heartache. In any case- this is epic. ♥
Zep as THE greatest? Thats a lot of apple to orange comparisons. Listen to almost any rock song recorded before 1969, from Rock Around the Clock all the way through Foxy Lady, and you'll hear a backbeat rhythm with accents on the 2 & the 4. Wanton Song is "on the one". The quintessential Zep "heavy" song is Plant belting out blues anthem vocals over a hard funk vamp (with Page serving as one man horn-section on guitar). They were a completely different animal...
Love the "Huge" ambient sound with echo and verb, reverberating off the arena walls and sound system here. good god. totally live, and bad-ass sounding. only critique would be ( and god bless 'em, cause i love the crows overall) but Chris offers up a few "questionable" notes throughout this performance. oh well. i know he was more about "feeling it". drums and groove, and that killer guitar riff however, just gives me chills. this if Fuckin' Monumental!
Can't believe this video cuts out just as Jimmy is about to grip and rip! What a travesty! Then again not seeing any of this video would be an even bigger travesty...
Led Zeppelin is simply the greatest. There is no band right now as great as Led Zeppelin, or before or since. Zep is in hierarchy as Mozart, Shakespheare, Homer.
they also made a studio album it was black cover if i wasnt mistaken only order available iused to have it and lost it i got a chancwe to see them at pnc bank art center tho !! fuckin awesome close to zep i was gonna get for being 39 now i was 2 young for zep live
Sounds great. I have this concert on dvd. As for the drummer...he doesn't miss a beat throughout the entire concert. He's not a egotistical showboat. He just plays super tight and perfect for the music. Not much more you can ask from a drummer. :)

Actually the timing is dead-on. Go back and listen to the record. And The Black Crowes are the closest thing to Zeppelin this day and age.

I love everything about this except the singing.

@placidian may as well like it because Plant can't sing in this register anymore.

Sounds kinda sluggish - not as much energy as Zep or Plant & Page versions. Chris Robinson is awesome, though.

Chris Robinson is about as good a fill in for Zep songs as you'll get from today's roster...he still sounds like himself but it fits well.
Bonham's shoes would be better filled with another drummer but over all they sound really good.

I think that the drummer plays pretty true to the song.
