Practicing vib. slowly is like dribbling a ball, riding a bike, or running slowly; it has almost nothing to do with the real physics and physiology involved. It tells the student that the motion is controlled at all times, when we really are dribbling the weight of the arm. Making the motion fast is not hard, only making it even. Knowing what the basic motion IS hard. In 4th pos. its opening and closing the forearm. Can't do it? practice in the air until you can do it evenly first, but not slow!

this is the same way that I practice vibrato. My vibrato is improving very slowly.
