maybe your sister is right in her doubt about the decisions your father makes ...you know the parents not always take the right decision for their children .they are not perfect creatures .they had their mistakes.tell me an example of what your sister defies your dad.she is bigger than you .then i guess she had her reasons .me i usually ignore my dad and he do the same .don't get me wrong i always do what he wants .and when i meet with my dad in the same room i feel the atmosphere changes .

No he doesn't & it was cause Sam was spoiled brat. Fights tween them Sam started.

This seems similar to the fights my older sister has with our dad all the time....and it's because they have the same personality, and when you have the same personality as someone, you are bound to clash.

I am also a lot like Dean in the sense of Dad says to do something, it is "Yes sir", no questions asked, while my older sister demands to know the reason behind everything, and she needs to decide it is a good enough reason, or else she won't do it.

@snowfire796 I'm 20 now, and I'm not scared of him anymore, but I still do what he says and grumble about it silently, because I decided it's not worth the argument, since all that happens is he ends up mad and I end up upset and doing what he wanted anyway.

I completely missed the fact that I didn't comment on Sam's attitude ^__^. I love Sam, attitude and all. John needs someone to stand up to him and make him explain himself, so my opinion of Sam's attitude is it is awesome and a must-have

John was there, he was the only parent they had. Like he said he wanted to protect his boys that not Mary's death drove his hunt for the demon. Sam idependent? Nope. He tries to hold onto the fantasy of being Beaver Cleaver while Dean's doing his own hunting gigs.

I really feel bad for Dean having to be the peacemaker between the two of them. If it wasn't for Dean, Sam and John would have killed each other a lot sooner.

It's really unfair that the burden of the family is heaped onto Dean; he's the only one out of the three of them that can get along with both other members of his family. Dean really doesn't deserve to have to put up with this.

@Tarklovishki The only reason Sam and John fight is because they are both stubborn.Sam is more independent than Dean and therefore he questions everything instead of obeying without question. It is unfair that Dean keeps trying to keep them from fighting but in ways, John brings it upon himself. He was hardly there when they were growing up and he expects them not to even rebel even a little bit. Sam's always been a little bit of a rebel too.

It's really sad - you completely get that Dean can't handle their arguments.

Also, when you see how fiery and strong willed Sam was back then, to the way he is now, after all that's happened to him - it's like all the sparkiness has gone from him.

Subtle things like this show that they're really good actors - they've got better with time, too.

@xoTROJANETTESxo There's a scene where Dean tells Sam just that. That he admires Sam for always standing up to their father. But I think that Dean acts the way you described because of how he grew up. He was the big brother who had to take care of Sammy while John was out hunting, sometimes gone for days. The flashback form "Something Wicked", when young Dean disobeyed daddy's orders says it all. And thanks to liptonrm for sharing the clip :)

People keep saying that he is a lot like John but I think that Sam is more like his mom. They are both stubborn and both want a normal life. Sam may look like his father more but his attitude is all his mom.

@xoTROJANETTESxo Dean holds noone close to himself except for Sam, so when to his mind his only superious-being his father- orders him to protect Sam he does that and makes it his reason to live. You can see it in a lot of episodes, that he has no reason to live outside Sam, he considers himself usseless and unless he honors his fathers and does his will he does not justify his exsistence. Ofcourse he never realy says that, but you can figure it out eventually.
