maybe your sister is right in her doubt about the decisions your father makes ...you know the parents not always take the right decision for their children .they are not perfect creatures .they had their mistakes.tell me an example of what your sister defies your dad.she is bigger than you .then i guess she had her reasons .me i usually ignore my dad and he do the same .don't get me wrong i always do what he wants .and when i meet with my dad in the same room i feel the atmosphere changes .
Poor Dean....how many similar fights between Sam and John was he forced to break up when they were kids, do you think?
This seems similar to the fights my older sister has with our dad all the time....and it's because they have the same personality, and when you have the same personality as someone, you are bound to clash.
@SarahShapeShifter you'r right.me my self i always fight with my dad ...we have the same personality ..the same temper ..but he sometimes he just act like an ass sorry to say that but it's true .we always argue i feel bad for sammy and me
@snowfire796 You can feel sorry for Sammy, and I'll feel sorry for Dean then. I am also a lot like Dean in the sense of Dad says to do something, it is "Yes sir", no questions asked, while my older sister demands to know the reason behind everything, and she needs to decide it is a good enough reason, or else she won't do it.
well you said you'r like dean hah ?.didn't you ever argue with your dad ?.didn't he make you mad sometimes with his decisions ?.like do this ,don't do this .in bossy way ?.to tell you the truth i can't stand it in the real life ..but in sam's case i'm with you .i think sam should be more respectful and obey his dad .i wanted john to hit him and made him get in the car .i think sam should obey dean too because he raised him .i want sam like slave to dean .one of his belonging .sorry my opinion
@snowfire796 Thinking about it, I can't think of a single time that I argued with me dad....sure there were times that I didn't like his decisions, but I would do what he said and grumble about it in my mind.
waaaaaaw you'r sure totally like dean girl ...i wish i would be more like you but i can't .i used to be scared from my dad but now i'm 22 .and i always stand to him and defy him .how old are you ?.he used to tell me always: shut up don't say a word when we argue ..just do as i say .and i hate it .you didn't tell me your opinion about sam anf his attitude ^____^
@snowfire796 I'm 20 now, and I'm not scared of him anymore, but I still do what he says and grumble about it silently, because I decided it's not worth the argument, since all that happens is he ends up mad and I end up upset and doing what he wanted anyway.
I completely missed the fact that I didn't comment on Sam's attitude ^__^. I love Sam, attitude and all. John needs someone to stand up to him and make him explain himself, so my opinion of Sam's attitude is it is awesome and a must-have
John was there, he was the only parent they had. Like he said he wanted to protect his boys that not Mary's death drove his hunt for the demon. Sam idependent? Nope. He tries to hold onto the fantasy of being Beaver Cleaver while Dean's doing his own hunting gigs.
@JohnWinchester3567 John a parent? The only thing he can't really claim to be a parent because Dean was the parental figure and the only stable person in Sam's life. Come to think of it, he went off to college to get away from his dad and it pissed John off but Dean never told him he was pissed off at him. In fact, Dean is the only one Sam usually listens to even when he is in an arguing mood, he backs off. Within five minutes though John and Sam are at each other's throats.
@LilacRosi123 i don't think that fight could've gotten anymore violent than it did, John may lose his temper but I can't see him actually taking a swing at his own kid and Sam is never the one to throw the first punch (exceot once) we need Sam and Dean for violent fights
I really feel bad for Dean having to be the peacemaker between the two of them. If it wasn't for Dean, Sam and John would have killed each other a lot sooner.
It's really unfair that the burden of the family is heaped onto Dean; he's the only one out of the three of them that can get along with both other members of his family. Dean really doesn't deserve to have to put up with this.
@Tarklovishki The only reason Sam and John fight is because they are both stubborn.Sam is more independent than Dean and therefore he questions everything instead of obeying without question. It is unfair that Dean keeps trying to keep them from fighting but in ways, John brings it upon himself. He was hardly there when they were growing up and he expects them not to even rebel even a little bit. Sam's always been a little bit of a rebel too.
Dean holds noone close to himself except for Sam, so when to his mind his only superious-being his father- orders him to protect Sam he does that and makes it his reason to live. You can see it in a lot of episodes, that he has no reason to live outside Sam, he considers himself usseless and unless he honors his fathers and does his will he does not justify his exsistence. Ofcourse he never realy says that, but you can figure it out eventually.
It's really sad - you completely get that Dean can't handle their arguments.
Also, when you see how fiery and strong willed Sam was back then, to the way he is now, after all that's happened to him - it's like all the sparkiness has gone from him.
Subtle things like this show that they're really good actors - they've got better with time, too.
i wished he wouldn't interfer so i can see the fight ..anyway i think john would knock some sense into sam' head don't you agree? .sam needs some discipline from john and dean .he is too rebel and they try to protect him and keep him safe .he should obey them very perfectly.sttuborn sam very cute ...sorry for my english
@snowfire796 I agree with you,Don't get me wrong, cause i never obey my dad without a long Argument & I always stand up for my opinion, but lets face it,it's not me who has demon blood in him and will stop the apocolipse, and look were his in-discipline took him, later,I guess it's kinda jhon's fault,he was all focus on raising Dean so he bcame the man he is now,but left Sam kinda free ! Also i wished that the fight continue and john knock some sense into sam's head
this is one of my favorite scenes. I have always admired sam for not obeying his dads every command. i hate how dean calls him "sir" and bends to his every need. i love that sam will stick up for himself and tell his dad what he needs to hear <3
@xoTROJANETTESxo There's a scene where Dean tells Sam just that. That he admires Sam for always standing up to their father. But I think that Dean acts the way you described because of how he grew up. He was the big brother who had to take care of Sammy while John was out hunting, sometimes gone for days. The flashback form "Something Wicked", when young Dean disobeyed daddy's orders says it all. And thanks to liptonrm for sharing the clip :)
@IPreciousMemoriesI Yet Dean is more of a father figure to Sammy than their own father was. Sam is more likely to listen to Dean before he listens to John. People keep saying that he is a lot like John but I think that Sam is more like his mom. They are both stubborn and both want a normal life. Sam may look like his father more but his attitude is all his mom.
@xoTROJANETTESxo Dean holds noone close to himself except for Sam, so when to his mind his only superious-being his father- orders him to protect Sam he does that and makes it his reason to live. Love Dean in this, my fav line by him was, "That means you too" to his dad, I mean he actually got to tell his dad to back down from Sammy. Poor Dean in the middle :(
Surprisingly enough, this sounds a LOT like the arguments I have with my mom. Though parts of my arguments sound more like Anakin. It's sort of a mix between the two.

@JohnWinchester3567 John a parent? Dean was the parental figure in Sam's life.
Who do youthink parented Sam until Dean was old enough? Who taught Dean?
Went to college to get away from his dad and it pissed John off In fact
Where were you when John & Sam talked in DMB?
Dean is the only one Sam usually listens to even when he is in an arguing mood, he backs off. John and Sam are at each other's throats.
No he doesn't & it was cause Sam was spoiled brat. Fights tween them Sam started.
