Notice that the lighting is 10 times better in dx10. The grass in dx9 just pops out, and the dx10 grass just blends in. Also notice the improved sun efffects, and the better waterfall. And also the improved geometry (the fireplace).

the water is different on dx10 you can see the reflection and the shaders but dx9 is better because the game will be faster then the dx10 for standerd graphics card

It's obvious that this game was a DX10 benchmark tool as well as Lost Planet. They just added extra foilage and fx. I'm sure DX9 could've handled the same thing, but they need to get people to buy the cards. It's cool, though. I recently got a GTX 470. No problems here.

I have yet to see a game that shows that DX10 is worth it. All I see is Microsoft showing the changes, and if you look at Crysis it is the same. Crysis looks nothing like it was suppose to do. All games released a "gameplay" video which is just CGI and a fake HUD.

if you have all that, you can run it. to max it out, most likely get an ati card (the game is biased towards ati) or a later nvidia (8800GT and up) 2gb of ram and a dual-core. you should run it at very nice framerates.

people just dont get it. just because a game uses dx10 doesn't mean it will have awsome quality, the game isn't usually directly written in dx or opgl it is written using a game engine like Gamebryo or Dark Engine it depends on the engine. dx just makes more features available to developers, its not a magic wand that instantly boosts quality like, maybe anti-aliaing. Its not like Thief: The Dark Project (1998, 3D RPG) would suddenly look like Crysis if it was converted or hacked to run in dx10.

add &fmt=18 to this video for a much higher quality which provides a more clear presentation of dx version. btw, &fmt=6 doesnt work in this vid even though it wouldve been better (since this vid has no audio and 6 gives better video but worse audio than 18. the thing about this video though is that u dont see two scenes side-by-side at the same time to really scrutinize and analyze. two seperate benchies put in split screen rather than the same bench in split-screen would give better results =]

I have played both GUN & COJ and i can say that GUN is more open it's like a western GTA. This is the thing that lacked in COJ, there are a lot of open spaces but it's dead no side quests or messing around, just a strait story with boundaries. But in COJ the story line is way more interesting, & the graphics are just wonderful! I loved both games but frankly saying, im waiting for a COJ with an open world or GUN with kicking graphics.
